Aiden heaved a sigh. It was finally over.
A smile crossed his face, one of genuine relief, and it grew until he found himself laughing.
The sound echoed across the empty void, carried by nothing but his own joy.

Aiden turned, staring into the distance with narrowed eyes.
The gazes were far away, yet somehow close at the same time. And they made his skin crawl.
He stared for a moment longer, as though meeting those unseen eyes with his own defiant stare before finally letting out another sigh.
He had a rough guess who these might be, but that wasn't worth the worry at this time.
So, he turned his attention back to the ruined darkness of space around him.
What mattered most right now was repairing the damage. The damage he'd caused to the timeline by using Checkpoint, and the damage Samael had caused to this world.
