Chapter 113 - Become an all-round gym leader?

Chapter 113:

"Serperior?"

When Serperior and Vulpix woke up and came outside, the area had completely transformed.

The land previously planted with Tamato Berry and watermelons had now been thoroughly tilled.

In the fields, Sandshrew led the way plowing the ground, while Hayashi Kaede followed behind, scattering seeds. Milotic stayed in the reservoir, using Water Gun to precisely water each spot where a seed landed with a "biubiu" sound.

Although Milotic's pace was slow, it tirelessly sprayed water from behind.

Without a second thought, it glided into the area and prepared to use Grassy Terrain.

But the Trainer stopped it.

"Wait, Serperior, try this first."

Hayashi Kaede took out the remaining Sweet and Savory Grass Dumplings.

"Serperior?"

Serperior looked curiously at the dumpling, glided closer to him, and extended two vines from behind its neck to take the dumpling.

After taking one bite, it found it strange.

Compared to the previous dumplings, this one just tasted a bit fresher and sweeter. Why did he specifically want it to try this?

But it didn't overthink it. After seeing the Trainer plant all the seeds, a verdant energy emanated from its body.

In an instant, the entire plantation was covered in a green energy field. Under the influence of this energy, the newly sown seeds began to sprout, grow rapidly, and break through the soil.

This even made Hayashi Kaede a little startled.

After all, he hadn't even applied the Fertilizer to these seeds yet.

Serperior's Grassy Terrain was becoming more and more incredible...

This scene reminded him of a Pokémon movie he once saw, "Pokémon: The Crown of Serenity," which featured a Pokémon called Zarude that could also accelerate plant growth like this.

With Serperior's current Grassy Terrain ability, was it moving in that direction?

But speaking of accelerated growth...

Two other Pokémon came to Hayashi Kaede's mind.

One was Calyrex, with its two steeds, and the other was Xerneas.

The former could enrich fields and ensure bountiful harvests, while the latter could make forests regrow.

If they were to accelerate plant growth, wouldn't he be able to grow anything he wanted?

Speaking of Xerneas, he wondered what the current timeline was.

Was it still sleeping?

Had Ash from the Kanto region begun his journey yet?

But since Mewtwo already had the idea to host "games," it should probably be soon, right?

Or had he already started?

Hayashi Kaede's thoughts wandered.

This speculation wasn't baseless.

Because Rotom Phones already existed in the Eastova region, and although this area had the most developed network information, once they were available here, they would likely spread quickly to other regions too.

When that happened, his Breeding House would have the chance to become known across all regions.

"Vulpix~ Vulpix~"

The Vulpix at his feet snapped him out of his thoughts.

Hayashi Kaede wanted to pick it up and pet it, but looking down at his mud-covered hands, he had to go to the reservoir to wash them first.

Then, seeing Milotic still spraying water, the idea he had in the morning stirred within him again.

"Come here, Milotic, let me pet you~"

"Milotic~"

Milotic immediately stopped spraying water and lowered its head.

"Hehe~"

Hayashi Kaede climbed onto its body, then looked at the water channel connected to the outside river and couldn't help saying: "Let's go, let's go have a ride outside!"

After working all morning, he had sweated quite a bit, and the novelty of riding Dragonite made him want to try something similar again.

He had never ridden Milotic through water before~

"Milotic? Milotic~!"

Milotic cheered and immediately charged outward with Hayashi Kaede.

"Vulpix? Vulpix?!"

The Alolan Vulpix, who had been watching from the shore, saw this and couldn't help but leap onto Milotic's back, protesting to Hayashi Kaede, "Vulpix?! Vulpix!"

Hayashi Kaede laughed and picked it up, "Alright, alright, we'll take you with us."

Among all his Pokémon, it was the most curious and innocent.

They passed through the reservoir and into the widened water channel, which was now fully capable of accommodating Milostic.

But without special circumstances, Milotic still didn't usually go out.

Although Hayashi Kaede had encouraged it to go out for walks often,

it seemed to prefer staying in the reservoir.

Sometimes, when he was milking Miltank outside, Hayashi Kaede would see its figure shimmering in the rippling water, hidden within the clear currents as if secretly watching him.

The left side of the water channel was empty land, while the right side was the flower belt Hayashi Kaede had planted.

A bit further ahead, behind the right-side flower belt, many unused farmhouses could be found.

They belonged to former residents of Aogiri Town who had since moved away.

Milotic swam slowly through the channel, occasionally turning its head to sneak a glance at its Trainer.

It rarely got to enjoy such peaceful moments.

A customer attracted by the flower belt came to admire it and, looking up, suddenly saw an incredibly beautiful figure gliding past behind the flowers.

He rubbed his eyes, somewhat incredulous.

Then he exclaimed loudly, "it is a Milotic! Wow, such a beautiful Milotic!"

His exclamation instantly drew everyone's attention.

But immediately, they saw Hayashi Kaede standing on Milotic's back.

The suddenly tense atmosphere snapped.

"Wow, I've seen videos of the Breeding House's Milostic on social media and thought it looked absolutely stunning, but now seeing it in person... wow..."

"Seriously, seriously, I thought it might be using beauty filters? But now I see, filters would just insult its beauty..."

"Speaking of which, Hayashi is pretty lazy, isn't he? Apart from making Energy Cubes and food every day, you hardly ever see him around. Shouldn't a typical Breeding House also offer services like massages or move training for customers' Pokémon?"

"I want one..."

"Don't even think about it..."

...

Meanwhile, standing on Milotic'a back, Hayashi Kaede was pondering a strange question.

If he were to establish a Gym in the future, what type should he specialize in?

Because he realized, his Pokémon's types seemed a bit all over the place.

Psychic, Water, Fire, Fighting, Flying, Fairy, Ice, Grass, Dragon, Bug...

Except for Metapod, even little Vulpix had already reached Top Tier level.

But he quickly stopped overthinking it.

"Hmm? How about becoming an all-type Gym Leader? Challengers would have to defeat every type to earn the badge?"

Imagining how others would challenge him in the future, Hayashi Kaede started daydreaming, a smirk inevitably forming on his lips.

Then, a cool sensation washed over his face. Looking down, he saw that the mischievous Vulpix, noticing his "creepy" smile, had blown a light spray of ice flakes at him.

"Hey, what was that for, Vulpix?"
