Chapter 284: A New Holy Sword Has Been Added

Otherwise, it would be a bit too invincible.

But even so, a mage capable of cloning magic paired with a Holy Sword that could also clone itself was indeed a surprise.

Unfortunately, the opponent still made a miscalculation.

If it were Rhodes, he wouldn't have used clones. Instead, he would have channeled all his strength to activate the Holy Sword's innate anti-magic property, delivering a single, unexpected strike.

Only in this way could the Holy Sword's law-breaking effect be maximized.

Otherwise, it would end up like this: one failed strike putting Rhodes and Serie on guard.

However, it was also possible the opponent underestimated Serie's judgment.

The attacker probably hadn't expected Serie to release Athos's defensive barrier without hesitation instead of using ordinary defensive magic.

On the other side, after blocking the rain of light, the attackers charged again, undaunted by death.

Their coordination was seamless, their attacks relentless. The anti-magic property of the Holy Sword caused Serie quite a bit of trouble.

Many of Serie's large-scale spells were easily neutralized by the Holy Sword, and even Rhodes's spatial restrictions were interfered with by that peculiar anti-magic effect, significantly reducing their effectiveness. The battle fell into a brief stalemate.

The legion soldiers watched dumbfounded. They had never seen anyone withstand such a terrifying siege, nor had they seen anyone confront the Elven Saint's magic head-on.

"Endless pests!" Unable to break through quickly, Serie grew increasingly impatient.

She was used to direct combat; this feeling of being entangled made her extremely unhappy.

Moreover, these attackers were constantly circling her, stalling for time, which disgusted Serie immensely.

Most importantly, these attackers came with regeneration effects.

By now, Serie had realized these attackers were indeed clones.

Even when she blew away half of their bodies, in the next moment, bolstered by the Holy Sword, they would charge again fearlessly.

Although they couldn't cause her any real harm, the feeling was annoying—like mosquitoes constantly buzzing in her ear.

Ignoring them was irritating, but dealing with them felt like trying to catch mist.

"Calm down." Rhodes hadn't attacked from the start. He was merely observing the assailants. "Clones are ultimately clones. The source of energy and control must lie with the main body. I am analyzing their energy signatures."

"Found it!"

In Rhodes's vision, countless streams of light flashed as he reverse-tracked the magical mana, rapidly deciphering the location of the main body controlling the clones.

Clone magic like this had an obvious drawback.

When encountering legendary mages like Rhodes or Serie, it was easy to be reverse-tracked straight to the source.

"Southwest. Behind a small hill ten kilometers away."

Rhodes reported the coordinates precisely. "That guy's main body is hiding there. Ignore these clones."

"Understood!"

Hearing this, Serie immediately abandoned her entanglement with the clones.

Unleashing her mana, a massive pillar of light that seemed capable of piercing heaven and earth blasted out instantly, aimed straight at the direction Rhodes indicated.

Any clones attempting to block along the path were vaporized instantly, sword and all, by this terrifying strike.

Ten kilometers away, behind a small hill.

A figure identical in appearance to the attackers snapped his eyes open, his face changing drastically.

"How is this possible?! How could they find me?!"

He screamed in disbelief, subconsciously wanting to sever the magical connection and flee.

But it was too late.

Serie's destructive pillar of light, crossing several kilometers in an instant, had arrived.

Although he raised the true Holy Sword in time to block, in his haste, he couldn't completely offset the terrifying power.

BOOM!!!

The small hill was leveled instantly. Amidst the dust and smoke, the figure was blown backward wretchedly, blood spurting from his mouth, the Holy Sword nearly flying from his hand.

With the main body injured, the clone magic became extremely unstable. The remaining clones began to flicker violently, their movements becoming sluggish.

"Found you!"

Using spatial magic, Rhodes and Serie appeared almost instantly above the destroyed hill.

Seeing the two suddenly appear before him, the true Holy Sword wielder was terrified out of his wits.

Suppressing his injuries, he swung the Holy Sword, unleashing waves of anti-magic sword beams at the two while retreating rapidly, trying to open the distance.

"Useless effort." Rhodes spoke flatly.

He didn't even use any large-scale magic. He simply extended a finger and tapped lightly in the air.

Gravity Magic.

The space within several hundred meters instantly became heavy.

The Holy Sword wielder discovered with horror that he seemed to be stuck in invisible mud. Every movement became incredibly difficult and slow. Even the speed of the sword beams he unleashed was greatly reduced.

Serie would not let this opportunity slip.

A light spear, condensed to the extreme, appeared instantly in her hand. Turning into a golden lightning bolt, it shattered the sluggish sword beams and shot straight for the opponent's heart.

Relying on subconscious instinct, the wielder desperately held the true Holy Sword horizontally in front of him!

CLANG!!!

The sound of metal clashing rang out. Serie's sure-kill strike was actually blocked by the true Holy Sword.

The white-gold blade erupted with unprecedented brilliance, forcibly withstanding the sharpness of the light spear.

"Hmph! Let's see how many you can block!" Serie's battle intent surged. Dozens of light spears appeared out of thin air, ready to fire at any second.

Just then, Rhodes made his move.

He didn't attack the wielder. Instead, he reached out toward the true Holy Sword.

His hand ignored the repulsive force field automatically generated by the Holy Sword and firmly grasped the hilt wrapped in dragon-scale leather.

The Holy Sword erupted with intense light of resistance. But under the terrified gaze of the wielder, Rhodes's hand exerted slight pressure.

A terrifying aura, surpassing all energy levels in this world—an aura only a god could possess—quietly flowed out.

The Imperial Holy Sword, possessing the power of anti-magic laws and resisting frantically, instantly extinguished all its light upon contact with this aura. It lay quietly in Rhodes's hand.

"A nice item."

Rhodes weighed the Holy Sword casually, sensing the peculiar law power and majestic energy within it, full of surprise.

"It actually contains anti-magic laws. No wonder it could easily tear through our conventional defenses. Those dwarves really made something incredible."

He looked up at the wielder, who had completely given up resistance after having his sword snatched.

"A pity. The usage was too crude."

Rhodes casually handed the captured Holy Sword to Serie, who was eyeing it curiously. His gaze returned to the attacker, who, having lost the Holy Sword, was now impaled and killed by Serie's light spear.

The battle had ended the moment they found the main body.
