Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: Departure for the Sand Village

Uchiha Yato set off today.

Before leaving, he specifically instructed Uchiha Kei to stay vigilant and ensure the Uchiha Clan didn't fall prey to the Hokage's inner circle during his absence.

After all, with Shimura Danzo gone, who knew what Sarutobi Hiruzen might do?

Last night's feast with the Sannin was also a way to secure their goodwill toward the Uchiha Clan.

As for this trip, Uchiha Yato had already clarified matters with the Third Hokage.

He was going under the banner of the Hidden Leaf—officially, this was a diplomatic mission. The Third Hokage was also willing to see Uchiha Yato leave the village.

Uchiha Yato was practically a walking disaster within the village—better to send him out and let him wreak havoc on other villages instead.

Just like before, Uchiha Yato was given whatever he wanted.

There was no other choice. With Yato's growing influence and power, and the higher-ups having just lost one of their own (Danzo), they had no choice but to appease him.

They had to prevent Uchiha Yato from developing any… undesirable intentions.

On that point, Uchiha Yato assured them they had nothing to worry about. He wasn't an ambitious man—he just wanted everyone to live "happily."

At the village gates, during the farewell send-off,

Uchiha Kei arrived with the rest of the Uchiha Clan to see them off.

After all, this time, Chiyo had specifically invited the Uchiha Clan, so it wasn't appropriate to assign too many additional personnel.

Hyūga Hizashi was also part of the delegation, but the others either couldn't be easily inserted or held positions too low in rank.

Meanwhile, Uchiha Obito watched Uchiha Yato's departure with tears and snot streaming down his face.

No one could understand the suffering he had endured during this time.

He had once believed that as long as he could stay by Nohara Rin's side, he would be willing to do anything.

But then Uchiha Yato's question bank had completely stolen his soul.

The worst part was that he couldn't even escape. If Uchiha Yato caught him slacking, the punishment wouldn't be anything simple.

Yato's penalties were extremely humane—for every unanswered question, ten more would be added.

And the worst part? Uchiha Yato's question bank never repeated!

Now that Yato was finally leaving, Obito's tears were genuine—tears of relief!

Seeing Obito like this, Uchiha Yato couldn't help but feel moved.

It was the kind of pride one felt when watching a bratty kid grow into a grateful young man.

So, in a thoughtful gesture, Yato left two whole boxes of test papers on Obito's desk.

With a clear note: If these aren't finished by the time I return, the punishment will be doubled!

He was sure that when Obito discovered this gift, he would be so moved he'd cry all over again.

After a few final words of farewell, the send-off came to an end.

...

Land of Hot Water.

Hidden Steam Village.

The Hidden Leaf's delegation had finally arrived.

Uchiha Yato suggested, "Let's rest here for today."

This village was most famous for its tourism industry.

After a long and tiring journey, a nice soak in the hot springs was the perfect way to unwind.

Yato had the same idea—after all, he had never properly visited these hot springs before.

During the war, he had always been in a hurry, coming and going without a moment to relax.

After settling into an inn in Hidden Steam Village, just as Yato was about to enjoy his bath—

He heard a commotion outside…

Yato had every intention of keeping things peaceful, just soaking in comfort without causing trouble.

But the outsiders had other plans.

A man wielding a black scythe barged in, looking for a fight with Uchiha Yato.

He muttered strange, eerie words, giving off an intimidating and sinister aura.

Faced with this situation, Uchiha Yato's interest was piqued.

With a wide grin, he stared at the intruder. After putting on the yukata, I originally planned to have some fun with these bandits.

After all, their appearance gave off a very powerful vibe, so it was only right to properly test their skills.

But in the end, Uchiha Yato took down five of them in just three moves, leaving even himself somewhat doubtful.

By the time Uchiha Yato lit a cigarette beside them, the five were already unconscious.

Uchiha Yato sighed and remarked, "A smoke after the deed—pure bliss, like an immortal~"

Without hesitation, Uchiha Yato used his abilities to interrogate them.

From this, he quickly learned their origins and motives.

Turns out, they were old acquaintances—the Jashin Cult.

Their reason for being here was simple: to seek "chosen ones."

Those they recruited would become devout followers of the Jashin god.

Uchiha Yato did a quick mental calculation and realized that Hidan probably hadn't even been born yet.

And while these guys healed slowly after being beaten, they weren't semi-immortal like Hidan.

But that didn't matter.

These men were already robbers and thugs—if they hadn't committed every evil under the sun, they were pretty close.

The village chief of Hot Springs Hidden Village even thanked Uchiha Yato and hoped he could deal with them permanently.

Because of this group's constant disturbances, the village's tourism business sometimes suffered greatly.

Uchiha Yato was more than happy to oblige.

He negotiated with the chief, asking if they could waive their travel expenses this time.

The chief was more than willing to trade one service for a permanent solution.

Uchiha Yato immediately took Hizashi—his personal radar—and set out to track them down.

He had to do the job well—otherwise, there'd be no repeat customers.

Not only did he get their trip expenses waived, but he also brought back souvenirs for Orochimaru.

In one stroke, Uchiha Yato came out on top!

Reacting quickly, he packed everything up and had a Chunin deliver it to Orochimaru in the Hidden Leaf Village.

Of course, Uchiha Yato also included a letter, detailing how he had heroically defeated these vicious criminals and the immense effort it had taken.

After all, Uchiha Yato knew one thing for sure—

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and this trick of his never failed.

After wrapping up this little farce, Uchiha Yato could finally relax in peace.

But later on their journey, they ran into the trio from the Rain Hidden Village—Yahiko and his group.

At this point, "Akatsuki" was already taking shape, steadily advancing toward their ideals.

Uchiha Yato deliberately left behind a Shadow Clone to teach them some basic Ninjutsu, helping expand their skillset.

Once the Shadow Clone's Chakra ran out, the task was complete.

Of course, this debt would definitely be pinned on Jiraiya's head.

Once they returned to the village, he'd have to squeeze some compensation out of him.

Three short days later.

Uchiha Yato and the others finally arrived at the gates of the Sand Hidden Village.

Instead of letting the delegation enter immediately, Uchiha Yato had everyone set up camp a short distance away to observe first.

After all, caution was never excessive—especially since, given the current political climate, the Sand Ninja weren't exactly friendly toward the Hidden Leaf.It was mainly Uchiha Yato who wanted to stir things up, thinking of a jaw-dropping way to make an entrance—otherwise, it would feel like a wasted opportunity.

The first meeting had to be grand, leaving a strong impression on everyone.

After a brief moment of contemplation, Uchiha Yato finally came up with a brilliant idea.

At this point, he ran up to the group and announced:

"Tomorrow, we enter the village!"
