The sunlight had already entered through the vent above my bedroom window.
Its rays directly hit the spot where I was sleeping, making me wake up immediately.
I rubbed my face and both of my eyes so that I could feel more refreshed.
I got up from my bed and opened the curtain covering the window, making my room bright without the help of a lamp.
Today, I could feel that the sun was already shining very brightly since morning.
Most likely, today would be sunny as usual without any rain.
I walked back to my bed and started tidying up the messy sheets.
After everything was neat, I left the room and headed to the kitchen.
I wanted to grab a glass of water and drink it.
In my room, there were only a bed, a table, and two wardrobes. A normal room for someone like me.
I don't know, maybe it's not normal either? I'm not sure. But at least, the bed was still soft and comfortable to use.
There was no space like a bathroom inside my room, and its size could be considered rather small.
Compared to Rosa-chan's room, mine was probably only half the size of hers.
As for bathing, there was a bathroom specifically for the servants and maids in this castle.
For the men, they had their own bathroom located not far from the female maids' changing room.
So, there was no such thing as unfair treatment among the servants in this castle.
Because the number of male servants and workers was smaller compared to the females, the facilities given were naturally different.
For example, the female maids were given a special room just for changing clothes every day.
Meanwhile, the men had to change either in their own rooms or in the bathroom.
And even then, the room was small and could feel uncomfortable.
As for them, their changing room was very spacious—twice as large as Rosa-chan's room.
So, they surely didn't have any trouble when they wanted to change clothes.
—
Well, it's not like I'm jealous or anything; the important thing is that I can still work here until Rosa-chan leaves.
When I arrived at the kitchen, the cook said that the Milhert family would be coming again around ten in the morning.
Meanwhile, the time was still showing six forty-two.
So, there were still more than three hours left before Rosa-chan would leave the castle.
After drinking some water, I decided to go to Rosa-chan's room. Maybe I could help her.
Surely, there would be quite a lot of things she would bring with her later.
Knock, knock.
"Rosa-chan, are you inside?" I asked from outside her room.
It would be rude to just barge in; I didn't want to be seen as someone lacking manners toward someone of higher status.
There was no response from inside. It seemed like she was either sleeping or out.
Well then, maybe she had already finished packing her belongings.
I just had to escort her departure later, and this game would be over.
I turned around, and suddenly, I heard the sound of something falling inside her room.
Thud!
The sound was like that of a cardboard box hitting the floor—not something hard.
Out of concern, I immediately opened her door; luckily, it wasn't locked. Then, I quickly entered the room.
Hopefully, Rosa-chan wasn't hurt.
"Cough, cough…"
"Yukito-san? Good, you're here... I was having a bit of trouble with these things…" she said while brushing the dust off her clothes.
There were many cardboard boxes in the room; it seemed completely filled with her belongings.
I looked at her desk, and there were only a few books left behind.
Yesterday, there had probably been more than forty books on that desk.
"I heard a loud sound while I was outside… are you okay?" I asked.
It was probably just a box falling, but who knows—it might have hit Rosa-chan and injured her.
That could happen, right?
"Well…" she said, turning her face away.
"What is it?" I asked, curious.
It was just some boxes falling, so why was she turning away like that?
It wasn't something that needed to be hidden from others, right?
"I accidentally stepped on a book and fell because of it… and then the pile of boxes fell along with me…" she said, covering her face with both hands.
Ah, I understood why she had a hard time saying that to me.
For most people, this would be considered embarrassing—falling down because of their own actions.
Even I almost laughed when I heard her explanation earlier. Luckily, I managed to hold it in.
"Yukito-san, you were about to laugh just now, weren't you? Weren't you?!" Rosa-chan said, pointing at me.
Wait, wait, did she see my reaction just now?
I really had managed to hold it in, but if she had seen me about to laugh…
"N-nah… you must've seen it wrong…" I said, trying to make her believe my answer.
Hopefully, she'd think she really saw it wrong. Yeah, hopefully.
Instead of continuing to scold me, Rosa-chan just let out a light sigh.
"Hah… I don't really care, anyway. Since you're already here, help me carry all these boxes to the front gate, okay?" Rosa-chan said, smiling at me.
Rosa-chan, I know what that smile of yours means…
Even though it might sound strange, I'm sure Rosa-chan smiled to make me feel like she was cheering me up.
Considering what happened last night, maybe that smile was something she truly wanted to show.
But looking at the number of boxes in this room… yeah, she probably just wanted to make me do all the work.
——
I thought Rosa-chan would come along with me—maybe carry one or two boxes.
But in reality, I was the only one carrying the boxes to the front gate.
I could only bring two boxes at a time; if only they had been tied up, it might have saved some time.
But none of them were tied together—Rosa-chan hadn't tied a single one.
When I asked her about it, she said there was no rope in her room.
And if I waited to find some, Luis and his entourage would arrive first.
So, I'd better keep up my morning energy. I just had to walk back and forth from Rosa-chan's room to the gate.
Yup, several times… several times…
——
I went back to Rosa-chan's room to get another box that hadn't been moved yet.
I had already lost count of how many times I had carried boxes from her room.
What was the point of counting anyway? It would just make me more dizzy, and it wasn't necessary.
"Yukito-san, this is the last one," Rosa-chan said.
I suddenly realized that the box I was holding was the only one left in her room.
That meant I had moved all the things Rosa-chan needed.
Phew… and it was still morning, yet I was already forced to work this hard.
If I had guessed this would happen, I would've been more prepared physically and mentally.
And I had only drunk a single glass of water—definitely not enough energy for something like this.
"After this, don't come into my room yet, okay? I'm going to change my clothes," Rosa-chan said after I left her room.
She immediately closed her door, and I heard the doorknob being locked.
Maybe she just wanted to make sure no one could come in while she was changing.
Well, who would even want to be seen while they're changing, right?
