Chapter 99 - Chap 99 : The waiting ends

It had been several days since Yukito-san was still asleep, and today once again we hoped he would wake up soon.

As usual, I asked Yuu-chan to accompany me in practicing magic. I wanted to continue developing the magical potential I could master.

The way was to duel one-on-one with Yuu-chan.

Honestly, I still didn't know exactly how strong Yuu-chan would be if she got serious.

Because, until now, between the two of us, no one had ever won.

Everything ended in a draw, which meant we were equally strong.

Even today, there was no winner in the duel between me and Yuu-chan.

We used an empty plot of land, which had been provided by Lis-san. Of course, we were very happy to be able to use this area.

All the magic Yuu-chan released was truly extraordinary. Every day, there was surely a new spell she would use.

Because of that, I became a little impressed with her.

Not wanting to lose, I also continued practicing to master magic I had never learned before.

Of course, with Yuu-chan's help. That's why I asked her to accompany me.

This time, I tried to master one of the lightning-element spells, which was very difficult to control.

Yuu-chan once told me that I had a hard time using mid-to-high level magic.

On the other hand, she was not proficient in using low-to-mid level magic.

That's why the two of us could help each other.

"By the way, did you ask me to join so I wouldn't feel down? Or do you have another reason?" Yuu-chan asked, curious about the reason behind me asking her.

Of course, she would definitely ask like that, because that was one of the reasons I used.

But the real reason was much bigger than that reason.

"For some reason, I have a feeling the Abbys army will rise again soon and invade Necvalion," I said.

"Come on, they already conquered Virosia island, but that island is very far from Necvalion, right?" Yuu-chan replied.

That was true, the distance from Virosia Island to Necvalion could take almost 10 days.

So, the distance could be considered very far. That was including riding a horse-drawn carriage and a ship.

From Virosia Island, there was a ship heading to the Velmoria mainland. From there, only then you could ride a horse-drawn carriage to Necvalion.

But for some reason, whenever I recalled the name Abbys, my chest felt very tight.

"I told you, right? This is just my hunch, and to train so I can be more skilled to protect Yukito-san," I answered.

The skill creation that Yukito-san possessed had not been useful until now.

In fact, I had never heard of that skill before. So I could say that, at this point, that skill was a useless skill.

Yukito-san himself, as far as I remembered, could only use a sword, and even then like an amateur.

He did have magical abilities, but there wasn't a single spell he could master.

That's why, Yuu-chan and I, who were by his side, had to protect Yukito-san whenever he encountered trouble.

"After Yukito-san wakes up, what do you want to do? Continue our journey to your guards?" Yuu-chan asked again.

"Of course. That's the reason we came to this city from the start," I replied.

I focused all my thoughts into the palms of my hands, gathering all my magical power into a single point.

I imagined a lightning-element spell, that could release lightning to a location according to our will.

And in my hands, I could already see small sparks of lightning.

I knew it wasn't enough yet, so I tried to focus even more.

But unfortunately, the lightning in my palms disappeared. That meant I failed again.

"Hime, just use your staff… if you use your hands, it will take even longer," Yuu-chan said, already a bit resigned with my antics.

Well, I was trying something new, usually I cast spells using my magic staff.

But this time, I wanted to try it directly with my hands. Maybe I could do it even better.

"Shall we go back? It'll be evening soon…"

I looked at the sky, and what Yuu-chan said was true.

The sky had started turning orange, which meant night would come soon. And the two of us couldn't train for too long.

"That's true…" I replied.

Once we got home, Yuu-chan immediately offered to take a bath together, but unfortunately, I had to decline.

Lately, she had often asked me to bathe together.

It wasn't that I didn't want to, but there was something I had to do first. Yes, I had to check on Yukito-san's room.

Click.

"Yukito-san…" I said softly, closing his room door again.

I approached the bed and looked at his face closely.

Then, I moved closer to his ear, and whispered his name, just in case Yukito-san was already awake.

But there was no reaction from him. That meant he was still asleep.

This time, I brought my face closer to his again. So close that our noses touched.

If I wanted, I could do something more to him, but I couldn't.

I couldn't cheat on Yuu-chan, and I had to respect Yukito-san's wishes.

So, that intention of mine, I would hold back until Yukito-san wanted it.

I got up and walked out of the room. Before I completely left, I glanced back at Yukito-san's body.

"Yukito-san, see you later~" I said with a small smile.

——

That night, I couldn't sleep. Meanwhile, Yuu-chan had been sound asleep since earlier.

For some reason, my eyes still didn't want to close and wanted to stay awake.

Even though I already felt very tired, and wanted to rest.

Because of that, I went to the kitchen and drank a glass of water. Maybe after this, I could sleep immediately.

Hah… how long will Yukito-san stay asleep… is it still very long?

I couldn't wait for him too long, it felt like hoping for something impossible to happen.

I… was impatient to go out with Yukito-san, there were still many things I wanted to do with him.

This little party was a home that would always be there for me at this time.

Necvalion's condition must be chaotic, because I suddenly argued with the King and caused a commotion.

My reputation there must already be tarnished, so I could no longer return to Necvalion.

So… if possible, I wanted to stay with Yukito-san and Yuu-chan until I could return to Necvalion.

Even though sometimes the three of us quarrel, in the end we would still be together again.

Hah… for some reason, my mind felt relieved… I… was also starting to feel sleepy…

——

The next morning, I was awakened by Yuu-chan, who looked very eager for me to wake up.

She looked very panicked and excited, as if she wanted me to immediately ask what was happening.

She tugged at my hand toward Yukito-san's room, I knew she was very worried about him… but don't pull me like this!

"Promise, okay? Don't disturb him later?" Yuu-chan asked.

"Y-yes, yes…" I replied.

I was surprised to see Yukito-san's room door open, and inside were Lis-san and several farmers staring at Yukito-san.

I asked Lis-san what was happening, and she said that Yukito-san had moved his body earlier.

But he was still asleep, yet according to Lis-san, Yukito-san would wake up soon.

I looked at Yukito-san and saw his hands beginning to move. Immediately, I sat beside the bed while holding Yukito-san's hands.

Yuu-chan followed behind me, but she only watched what I was doing.

Not long after, Yukito-san woke up and began sitting on the bed.

I immediately felt very relieved, seeing him awake again.

Unconsciously, I cried a little seeing him, and when he turned to look at me—

I immediately hugged him, making him lie back on the bed again.

His body felt so warm, his scent still the same as before. This was clearly Yukito-san.

I felt… that I wouldn't let go of this hug until he asked me to.

——

But in the end, Yuu-chan made me have to let go of Yukito-san's body.

Well, I shouldn't overdo it, because… I would do that next time~
