Chapter 17 - Chapter 16.1: Thank You

Chapter 16.1: Thank You!

October 26, 2025

Hey everyone 👋 Author here!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for reading my fanfic.

When I first started this little hobby of mine, I honestly didn't expect to stick with it for long. Not because I didn't enjoy it—but because I wrote a lot. I used to spend over 40 minutes a day working on a single chapter. It was fun, but balancing that with school was tough.

There were even nights when I'd wake up in the middle of my sleep just to get a few more lines written.

But over time, I found my rhythm. These days, I spend around 30 minutes a day writing—enough to get about 500 words done. It's a pace that keeps me consistent and sane.

And honestly, I'm proud of that. Because this chapter exists for one reason only:

To say thank you.

As of today, October 26, 2025, it's been about two months since I started posting (back in August). In that short time, I've seen my writing evolve in ways I never imagined.

In the early chapters, Amon was mysterious and cool—but his emotions were mostly implied, not felt. We saw him react, but we didn't always understand why.

Now, we live inside Amon's head. We see the contradictions—his hatred, curiosity, restraint, and confusion—without over-explaining. His emotions bleed into the narration, just like a true protagonist's inner voice should.

I've gone from describing Amon
 to letting you experience him.

Back then, emotional scenes were more direct, characters said what they felt:

"he was angry," "she looked sad."

Now, I rely on tone, body language, and pacing to show what words don't need to.

When James speaks softly but his grin twitches, or when Rex's silence says more than dialogue ever could, that's subtext.

"Calm down, James
you can only get so excited before it becomes unprofessional."

That one line carries obsession, denial, and dark humor all at once.

My earlier chapters were dense with ideas, lore, emotion, and worldbuilding all crammed together. It made them rich, but sometimes heavy.

Now, I understand flow.

Take Chapter 14, for example, it balances revelation (Amon's ability), mystery (his past), and tension (James watching). It has rhythm.

I've learned to control that rhythm—the heartbeat of storytelling.

Project Requiem now feels purposeful. It isn't just a backdrop—it carries political weight, moral questions, and meaning. I write now knowing why my world exists, not just how it looks.

And yeah, I know the earlier chapters had some rough edges, pacing issues, awkward transitions, or uneven tone. That came from inexperience, but I've grown a lot since then.

So, thank you for sticking with me through it all. 😅

I've also been experimenting more with AI illustrations, Amon, Rex, Sera, Amy, and more are already up, and I'm continuing to improve there too.

Lastly, thank you all so much for helping me reach over 100 collections!

It might not seem like much to some, but to me, it means the world.

I usually post a new chapter once a week, and I appreciate everyone's patience. I wish I could post daily, but I'll always choose quality over quantity.

So once again—thank you all for the support, the comments, and just being here on this journey with me.

See you soon in Chapter 17!

Author out.
