Chapter 154 - Beauxbatons

"I'll be keeping that to myself. Now move, I paid for breakfast and i'll be damned if I don't get it." I said as I put away my spear.

He grunted but stepped out of the doorway to let me pass. I got a simple and hardly filling(by my standards) breakfast of eggs and corned beef with toast. Moody didn't get anything himself but merely sat across from me and stared as if analyzing me. I ignored him as I ate and continued ignoring him when I finished up and left the tavern to get an actually decent meal.-

"Your appetite would bankrupt most families. Albus told me of it but seeing it myself is a whole other beast." he said observing me as I ate two of everything on the menu of a french pizzeria.

"Nothing wrong with a healthy appetite." I said slightly offended.

"You still haven't told me what that magic I saw before was." he said while having my attention.

"If I wanted you to know I would have told you the first time you asked." I said firmly.

"It could be potentially dangerous." he insisted.

"And? That list could circle the globe, not nearly good enough. The old goat is on that list by the way." I said pointedly.

"It's some kind of travel magic, that much I could see. But what sort? That's the question." He said trying to goad me into revealing more.

"Why do you care so much? It's not like it's causing any problems." I asked in annoyance.

"Because it's unknown. Something like that can upset the balance. That doesn't even begin to cover where you went for two days. Magic like that has no known counters and could be used for terrible things." he said gravely.

"Even more reason not to share details about it then. Glad we had this conversation." I said sarcastically.

I left the pizzeria after that and faster than the eye could follow shot up into the clouds leaving Moody behind on the ground. Reorienting myself based on the sun I shot off across the sky between clouds blanketing the ground below with my observation haki in search of something in particular. I eventually found it nestled between the Pyrenees mountains bordering Spain to the south. Beauxbatons school of magic. I didn't land directly on the property because that would definitely ping the wards but at the vineyard at it's edge that wasn't a problem.-

Once I landed I just casually transfigured my clothes to resemble the uniform I saw with my observation haki before walking right on campus like I totally belonged there. Not a single person so much as batted an eye as I strolled the school grounds. I had to admit that while not as ancient and imposing to look at as Hogwarts the school was WAY more aesthetically pleasing. A massive garden with various flowers and magical plants, white marble floors with gold inlay. Soft white walls and ceilings with art of various types lining it all. Even the light blue uniforms were tastefully pleasing to the eye.-

"Your transfiguration is good but you missed a few details." a playful somewhat deep female voice says in french and before I even blinked my clothes were turned back into their true state.

"Well that's rude, I thought I got rather close." I said unbothered as I turned to look at the one responsible.

There standing in all of her massive glory was Madam Maxime Olympia herself, the headmistress of Beauxbatons.

She just smiled lightly at me "Indeed your replication of the uniform was very close. However I make a point of memorizing each and every face who enrolls at my school and yours is not among them." she said and I clicked my tongue.

"I suppose I should have expected someone to notice eventually. I had hoped I could finish my tour before then, slip away quietly." I said honestly.

"You may have succeeded had I not felt like taking a stroll." she said with a small laugh.

"So what now? Do I get sent off to the ministry or something along those lines?" I asked calmly.

She quirked an eyebrow at that "Now why would I do something like that? You may be uninvited but you clearly have no bad intentions and thus are a guest. An interesting little guest at that! Why I can't think of a single time a student from across the channel has had the courage much less skill to sneak into this school." she said with clear amusement as she laughed.

I shrugged "I was in the area, thought it a shame not to see the place for myself." I said frankly.

"Come come, walk with me as we talk." she said all but pulling me into stride next to her. "How does my pride compare with that school of yours?" she asked as we walked leisurely through the halls.

"Beyond the obvious teaching of magic there's no real comparison. Hogwarts is a grand castle no doubt but it's dull, all the plain colors and decorations you'd find in any castle of the same era I'd wager. This place though has both muggle art and wizard art, has fine fashionable uniforms and the color scheme just screams luxury. That garden though is by far my favorite, acres of just flowers and magical plants maintained but not constrained to mere flower pots." I said honestly.
