Chapter 160 - Passing time

"A high ambition. I will draft up the letter for Dumbledore to request you for an exchange next year. For now though you are a guest and may explore the school within reason." Madam Maxime said with a smile.

"That reminds me but how long were you intending to stay in France?" Flammel asked.

"A day or two at most." I said honestly.

"You are returning with so much time left on your break?" he said surprised.

I shook my head "I have a friend to visit that will be hosting me for the rest of my time after I make a brief stop." I said not giving any details.

What a joke, Flammel was one of the closest people to Dumbledore and had even participated in the battle against Grindelwald half a century ago. There was no way in hell I was telling the man or even hinting to him about my plan to visit Grindelwald. Still I wasn't lying about visiting a friend for the rest of my break. I fully intended to head over to Whitebeards side to get some training without holding back.-

So far I had been able to work on my fine control of my fruit powers but to even have a chance at awakening the fruit I needed to work on the full power side as well. So far I simply didn't have an opportunity to go all out with the fruit yet. I definitely couldn't go tossing city destroying level attacks around in this world carelessly. And yes even unawakened my fruit was that destructively powerful. There was a reason my fruit was labeled the "invincible" logia in that world after all. Even a lazy person like Enel had to ability to destroy island so long as he built up clouds first.-

"A pity. I had hoped to invite you to my home. Perenelle would love to have a guest again." Flammel said with a light sigh.

"I can always visit over summer break. At that point i'll have a couple months of free time before school starts again." I said calmly.

"Hmm, yes I suppose that will do as well. I'll come to get you directly from Hogwarts on it's final day. Albus shouldn't have any problem with that." he said with a nod.

"Now then if you'll excuse me I would like to get my exploration done with." I said as I transfigured my robes back into a close imitation of the real one and left the office.

"So what is your real opinion on him?" Madam Maxime asked Flammel once she thought I was unable to hear.

"He is a remarkable young man. Perhaps you couldn't feel it but I could. His soul is dense and unbound. It was like sitting next to a sleeping dragon that had refused all attempts to chain it. He can either be the worlds next Dumbledore or it's next Grindelwald, it all depends on what he decides. But make no mistake he will not be anything but extraordinary, people like him never are." Flammel said seriously.

I wasn't bothered by the secret talk about me behind my back since it was to be expected really. She had told me that the wards had picked up on my power to a degree and that amount of power was a scary thing, especially in the hands of a child. Flammel picking up on my conquerors haki laden soul came as a surprise but not too much of one. The guy had been practicing magic for over six centuries, if he hadn't gotten under the hood of soul magic I'd be shocked.-

Still as I said I spent the next couple days checking out the school and sampling local flavors. Moody had been putting out feelers to try and figure out where I went apparently as Madam Maxime mentioned it. Even if he figured it out though it wouldn't matter because he wouldn't be allowed to set foot on Beauxbatons property as a foreign auror. So far my favorite part about this school had been the Abraxans. Beautiful golden blonde winged horses supposedly descended from the extinct Pegasus species.-

The flying horse breed had notoriously short tempers but I saw none of it when I visited their stables. If anything they seemed downright terrified of me which I quickly realized made sense. As a breed of horses at home in the sky they were naturally attuned to the weather. As far as they were concerned I was a massive lightning filled storm and they wanted nothing to do with me. A bit of a shame in my opinion but nothing for it unfortunately. Finally I set off after giving my farewell to Madam Maxime once I figured out where my next destination was.-

Contrary to popular belief the location of Nurmengard was not something easily found. You needed either very high clearance in the ministry or personal experience to know it's location. Oh sure everyone knew it was somewhere in the Austrian alps but that was a BIG area to search. Madam Maxime as the French magical schools headmistress naturally had something that detailed the location. It took some serious searching with observation haki to find it but I eventually got the castles location. It was located in a magically isolated mountainside just inside the Italian border.
