Chapter 276: Heading to the Lunar Islands
"...I'm sorry. We didn't mean to, but Darkrai can't control his power," Cresselia apologized quickly upon realizing the situation, then looked at the Darkrai beside her. "I thought that if I used my power at night to cover it, it would be fine."
Will nodded upon hearing this.
Just as he had guessed.
This Darkrai was probably very young and hadn't learned to master his abilities yet.
Cresselia had likely started helping him just to save the people troubled by him, but then discovered his problem and stuck around to clean up his messes.
Darkrai were pitiable creatures.

But Darkrai was skittish. Startled by Will's movement, he shrank back under Cresselia's belly.
"Please don't hurt me anymore. It hurts."
Darkrai spoke. His voice sounded like a little boy's. But he wasn't speaking human language.
This meant he couldn't communicate with humans. No wonder he could only take a beating. If he could speak a few words, humans wouldn't be attacking him. Those trainers would probably be lining up to serve him. After all, a Mythical Pokémon was a rare sight; everyone would want one by their side.
"He won't hurt you. He's an Aura user. They are good people. If you need help, you can ask them boldly," Cresselia explained from the side.

If it were Sir Aaron, Riley, or Ash... those guys were practically the "Aura Clan." They would help without hesitation.

Darkrai crawled out from under Cresselia.

This was a unique trait of Cresselia. Among Legendary Pokémon, they were an all-female species with no male counterpart. Although Darkrai looked and sounded male, as a Mythical, he had no gender.

Darkrai nodded slightly, staring blankly at Will.
Through the Aura Power, Darkrai sensed Will's heart. It was the first time he had felt such clear kindness from a Pokémon other than Cresselia.
"Do you need healing?" Will turned to Cresselia.
"I wasn't hurt much. Besides, we recover quickly." She shook her head.
Legendary Pokémon always had something special about them. Injuries that would send a normal Pokémon to the Pokémon Center might be healed with just a nap for them.
On the other side, Carmela saw the situation stabilizing and slowly approached.
"It's okay. She's not a bad person. Just now, you attacked first, so her partner got angry and thought you were going to hurt her," Will explained preemptively, seeing Darkrai tense up.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I just thought she was scary and didn't want her near me. I wasn't aiming at her," Darkrai quickly explained.
"I know." Will nodded calmly.
He could tell. And he believed Carmela could tell too. It was just that Garchomp was angry and needed to vent.

"Now isn't the time for that. We need to solve Darkrai's problem." Will shook his head, pointing at the two Pokémon.
To be blunt, this Darkrai was a walking nightmare generator. Except for masochists, no one wanted to have nightmares every day.
The most critical issue was... Team Galactic should be established by now. Like Team Rocket, they were probably in the fundraising stage. But Cyrus wouldn't mind capturing a chaos factor like this to raise for future plans.
"This..."
Carmela was troubled. There were people and Pokémon everywhere. Even if they dumped Darkrai on an isolated island, the sea Pokémon nearby would suffer nightmares.
"Can we send them to Newmoon Island and Fullmoon Island?" Will suddenly had an idea.
"...That might work." Carmela frowned, then nodded. "Newmoon Island isn't a place one can go casually, but Fullmoon Island... humans occasionally visit without being rejected by Cresselia. Maybe we can take a look."

"You... don't know Fullmoon Island? You must have lived for at least a few hundred years, right?" Will looked at Cresselia strangely. Given the Legendary habit of sleeping for decades at a time and her Elite Four-level strength, Will figured she was at least seven or eight hundred years old.
"I came from Crescent Isle in the Hoenn region. I only found him recently."
"...Follow us. We'll take you to a place where your kin live."
Will turned back and nodded to Carmela.
He hadn't heard of a Cresselia in Hoenn. Maybe a new game version came out after he arrived in this world, or maybe it was unique to this reality.
With Carmela leading the way, they flew northwest toward the Lunar Islands.
Even with a Champion-level Garchomp's speed, it took over three hours. The Sinnoh region was huge. If the three flying Pokémon weren't all Elite Four or above with excellent stamina and recovery, they might have had to wait until the next day to arrive.
Flying over Fullmoon Island.
"First time here." Will craned his neck to look.

"Cresselia is by the pond in the center of the island," Carmela directed Garchomp.
Soon, they found a large, crescent-shaped pond, almost a lake. There was a small clearing nearby.

"Looks like she's not here."
"She is." Will shook his head.
He had found Cresselia's Aura. She was underwater, watching them.
Upon seeing the Cresselia behind them, the Aura of the one below changed.
Then, she began to surface.

This Fullmoon Island Cresselia was much larger than the one with them. A normal Cresselia is 1.5 meters tall. This one was 15 meters.
"Cresselia..." Carmela's eyes showed shock.
Everyone knew Cresselia and Darkrai were here. But very few people had actually seen them. People usually said Cresselia wasn't home.

The giant Cresselia swept her gaze over them, finally resting on Darkrai.
