Chapter 328 - Chapter 328 Sect Daily Life (Part 1)

Chapter 328 Sect Daily Life (Part 1)

In the early morning, the mountain ranges of the Immortal Spirit Sacred Ground were faintly visible amidst the thin mist.

Ye Fan stood before his newly assigned Cave Dwelling as a True Inheritance Disciple, gazing at the surging sea of clouds in the distance, yet felt no interest in his heart.

It had been exactly three days since he became a True Inheritance Disciple, and aside from a hurried glance during the apprenticeship ceremony, he had not seen his master, Chen Xingcai, again.

"Logically speaking, shouldn't a True Inheritance Disciple begin cultivating immediately?"

Ye Fan murmured to himself, his fingers unconsciously stroking the identity jade token at his waist.

Engraved upon this piece of warm, white jade were the four ancient seal characters for Immortal Spirit True Inheritance, which glowed with a faint spiritual light in the morning sun.

He turned back into the Cave Dwelling and carefully examined this new residence.

The furnishings inside the Cave Dwelling were simple yet elegant: a bed made from Millennial Cold Jade and a set of red sandalwood tables and chairs.

The most eye-catching feature was the small Spirit Gathering Array in the corner, which continuously gathered the already rich heaven and earth spiritual energy from the Immortal Spirit Valley to this place.

"Could it be... I'm being left to fend for myself?"

Ye Fan sighed and decided to go searching on his own initiative.

Just after walking out of the Cave Dwelling, he heard a crisp call: "Junior Brother Ye!"

Turning to look, he saw Lin Xiaoyu wearing a pale green True Inheritance Disciple robe, a slender sword hanging at her waist, with fine lightning patterns faintly visible on the scabbard.

She walked over with a smile, the jade hairpin between her locks gleaming with a warm luster under the sunlight.

"Sister Lin." Ye Fan cupped his hands in a salute. "Are you out to cultivate so early?"

Lin Xiaoyu's eyes curved into crescents. "Master requires us to start morning cultivation at the Yin Hour every day."

She looked at Ye Fan curiously. "Why is Junior Brother Ye still here? Did the Saintess not arrange cultivation for you?"

Ye Fan gave a slightly awkward, light cough. "Well... since the day I took a master, I haven't seen her yet."

"Ah?" Lin Xiaoyu widened her eyes in surprise. "It's been three days and you still haven't seen the Saintess?"

Ye Fan smiled helplessly. "So I want to go look for her myself. What about you? How have things been lately?"

"I'm great!" Lin Xiaoyu said excitedly. "Master has been testing the sword techniques of Senior Brother Gu and me these past few days, and today she is preparing to teach us the first move of the 'Nine Heavens Thunder Moving Sword Art'!"

"'Nine Heavens Thunder Moving Sword Art', is it..."

Ye Fan could not help but reveal an envious look; naturally, he had heard of this supreme technique that was famous throughout the world belonging to his sect leader.

Immediately after, he revealed a sincere smile. "Then congratulations, Sister Lin. I still need to find my master, so I will take my leave first."

After bidding farewell to Lin Xiaoyu, Ye Fan walked along the bluestone path towards the Inner Gate area.

The spirit grass by the roadside emitted a faint fragrance, and several red-crowned cranes paced gracefully by the distant spiritual spring.

Such an immortal scene, however, caused him to feel a faint sense of unease. This was because the fact that the Saintess acts on her own whim was actually no secret within the sect.

Will Master really have forgotten me?

He could not help but think anxiously.

Arriving at the Inner Gate area, several Inner Gate disciples who were morning training saw him and immediately stopped their movements to bow respectfully: "Greetings, True Inheritance Ye."

After returning the salute, Ye Fan asked: "Have any of you seen the Saintess?"

One of the older disciples pondered. "Yesterday, I seemed to see the Saintess near the Pill Room."

He paused, then added: "But I heard she later went to the Immortal Spirit Guard station."

"Many thanks." Ye Fan cupped his hands in thanks and turned to walk towards the Immortal Spirit Guard station.

The Immortal Spirit Guard station was not within Immortal Spirit City, but built on the edge of a cliff on the west side of the city, with a cold and solemn architectural style.

Two massive stone lions guarded the main gate, and four Immortal Spirit Guards clad in silver armor stood straight and tall.

Seeing the True Inheritance jade token at Ye Fan's waist, the guards immediately saluted. "The City Lord is not present; what business does True Inheritance Ye have?" the lead guard asked.

"Oh, I am just here to inquire about my master's whereabouts."

The guards exchanged a meaningful look.

One of them lowered his voice: "The Saintess did indeed come yesterday, but..." He hesitated to continue.

"But what?" Ye Fan pressed.

"She chatted with the City Lord for a long time first... and then swiped three jars of 'Millennium Drunk'." The guard said awkwardly. "And then she went down the mountain."

Ye Fan could not help but cover his forehead upon hearing this.

Millennium Drunk was the spirit wine version of the Drunk Thousand Autumns, a specialty of Immortal Spirit City; it was said that even cultivators in the Longevity Realm would drink too much and fall unconscious.

"Are there any other clues?" Ye Fan asked unwilling to give up.

Another guard hesitated for a moment: "I have a friend who is an Outer Gate Disciple. Last night, my friend seemed to mention seeing a figure resembling the Saintess heading towards the Scripture Pavilion, but the speed was very fast, so he didn't dare confirm it."

He quickly described his friend's name and appearance: "My friend has recently been in charge of monitoring the Spirit Medicine Garden. If True Inheritance Ye has need, you can go directly to the Outer Gate to find him."

Leaving the Immortal Spirit Guard station, Ye Fan decided to go to the Outer Gate to inquire first.

The Outer Gate area was much livelier than the Inner Gate, with busy servant disciples visible everywhere, and occasionally Outer Gate Disciples mixed in handling tasks together.

By the side of a spirit field, he finally found that friend of the Immortal Spirit Guard. Just as he was about to speak—

"Ye, Ye Fan?"

A hesitant voice came from behind.

Ye Fan turned around and saw a tall, slender young man standing not far away with wide eyes, carrying half a bucket of spiritual spring water.

He scrutinized him for a full three breaths of time before finally finding traces of that familiar round face on the other's visage.

This brother, who grew up with him, now no longer had his round face, and his skin had been tanned darker, yet those eyes were even brighter than stars.

"Fugui!" Ye Fan took two steps in one stride forward and grabbed the other's shoulder.

The water bucket fell to the ground with a clang, and the spiritual spring water splashed and wet both of their boots.

Guo Fugui looked Ye Fan's True Inheritance attire up and down, then suddenly punched him in the chest: "Good kid! Although I had heard about it, I didn't expect you really became a True Inheritance Disciple!"

His voice was trembling slightly. "I knew... I knew you kid were extraordinary since you were small!"

Ye Fan felt his eyes heat up and returned a punch: "You're not bad either; you kept shouting about losing weight for so many years, and now you've finally succeeded."

The two looked at each other and laughed heartily, just like the days when they scraped by together in the border town.

Guo Fugui pulled Ye Fan over to a secluded stone pavilion: "Do you have some business in the Outer Gate?"

Ye Fan could not help but reveal a trace of shame. His mind had been filled with thoughts of his master these past few days, so he had truly forgotten he had a brother in the Outer Gate.

He could not help but joke: "Can't I be here specifically to see you?"

"Don't talk nonsense." Guo Fugui cursed with a smile. "Speak of serious business."

Ye Fan sighed and nodded: "Fine, actually I... am looking for my master."

"The Saintess?" Guo Fugui suddenly realized. "Then you really came to the right place; yesterday many fellow disciples saw the Saintess head towards the Scripture Pavilion."

Adhering to the principle of convenience for all disciples, the Scripture Pavilion of the Immortal Spirit Sacred Ground was built in a location leaning more towards the Outer Gate.

"That's great!" Ye Fan let out a long sigh of relief.
