Constantine pointed to the kicked-in door.
Well, after Constantine's soul was fully restored, while he would hesitate in doing many things, such as whether to kill Hellboy.
In other words, his cowardice had bred more kindness and hesitation.
But he was still just as flamboyant.
With Constantine's interruption, the conversation between father and son fell silent for a moment.
Originally, Hellboy had intended to ask his father about appearing on that island with the intention of killing him.
"John Constantine, a pleasure to finally meet you."
Professor Bruttenholm greeted Constantine as if letting out a long sigh of relief.
"I imagine it's not a good reputation."
"Alright, do you know what hurts more than a knife in the back?"
Hellboy questioned his father like a rebellious teenager, his arm waving restlessly.
"I think, probably being stabbed in the back by me."
Constantine interrupted Hellboy's questioning again, then said to Professor Bruttenholm:
"If a hundred thousand pounds is too expensive, fifty thousand pounds will do, right? You know, the head of this big red monster would be enough for me not to worry about living for the rest of my life. My god! Can you imagine what it's like to have to figure out how to feed yourself after saving the world? It's worse than a knife in the back!"
"Alright, Constantine! You have never saved the world!"
Professor Bruttenholm was somewhat angry. Facing Constantine, this notorious fellow, he found it difficult to remain calm.
Or rather, there was no one who could calmly face Constantine; even demons and angels couldn't do it.
"No, I have saved it, you just don't know it."
Constantine extracted the heavy slug from the shotgun beside him, placing it into his jacket pocket, then said unhurriedly.
"Alright, Constantine, please remain quiet for now. I'm going to introduce someone to Hellboy."
Professor Bruttenholm had no intention of arguing with Constantine on this topic. He waved towards the doorway, then waited a moment before a soldier walked in.
"Captain Ben Daimio, M11 Special Forces Commander."
Professor Bruttenholm extended his hand towards Captain Daimio.
"Daimio, this is my son, Hellboy. You know him."
"M11? I thought they disbanded after the war."
Hellboy scrutinized Captain Daimio.
"I thought our goal was to kill demons, not to associate with them."
Captain Daimio directly confronted Hellboy without ceremony.
"I think this scar-faced guy is right. You seem to be the leader of these soldiers, huh? Pleasure to meet you!"
Constantine immediately stood up and walked over, then grabbed Daimio's hand and began to use his 'Unending Grip'.
"Um, can you please help me with the compensation? It shouldn't be difficult for a secret unit like yours."
"Sir, please release my hand first. Compensation is not an issue."
Daimio was flustered by Constantine's enthusiasm. He was a soldier, not a politician, and he wasn't good at dealing with civilians.
He forcefully pulled his hand from Constantine's grasp, promising compensation.
"So, when will the hundred thousand, no, one hundred fifty thousand pounds of compensation be deposited? I don't have a bank account, so I want cash. And no, it's not for tax evasion or anything."
Constantine said with a sly smile, completely disregarding whether his opportunistic price hike was appropriate.
But he wouldn't be ashamed of it, he might even laugh out loud.
"I have to say, you agreed to it, scarface. By the way, have you looked in the mirror lately?"
Hellboy said, with a rare hint of schadenfreude.
"Do you think that's funny?"
"Maybe. My therapist says I use humor to fit in with normal people."
Hellboy seemed a little bothered by Daimio's calling him a demon, and chose to retort in kind.
"Hmm? Fit in with normal people? Then I can only wish you good luck."
Daimio said with a polite, fake smile.
"Then, sir, because the issue of compensation still requires further discussion, you must now come with us."
Daimio's approach was clearly intended to give Constantine a taste of his own medicine, to let him know that "extortion" was wrong.
"You'll regret it!"
Hellboy muttered under his breath.
"What?"
Captain Daimio didn't hear clearly, but his intuition told him it wasn't a good thing.
"Of course, no problem. By the way, my name is John, John Constantine. You can call me anything you want."
Constantine said with a cheeky smile. He was already contemplating how to integrate into this team.
His sense of justice wouldn't allow him to shrink from great danger. He was undeniably a hero, just not a very respectable one.
"Alright, then... Cons-what? Constantine!"
Daimio's scars twisted on his face. As an M11 commander who fought monsters, even if he hadn't met Constantine, he would certainly have heard his name.
"I wish us a pleasant cooperation. Of course, compensation is extra."
Constantine pulled out a newly written business card and slipped it into Daimio's pocket. Because it was freshly written, the card was still neat.
"I'm glad to see you all getting along. Although this is England, it's a joint operation."
Professor Bruttenholm was the first to leave the small room and walk outside. The remaining few also came out together. Before leaving, Constantine even examined his door, seemingly considering whether to replace it with a metal security door.
That kind of door might be able to deter an "FBI" warning; he himself was easily subjected to such impromptu inspections.
"Come on, I can knock out the teeth of the Osiris Club guys by myself."
Hellboy said, waving his stone right hand.
"No, this is far more serious than you imagine. St. Sebastian's Church was attacked, and even Father Anderson couldn't stop those guys from stealing something."
As the department for supernatural countermeasures, B.P.R.D. had close ties with the Church.
Therefore, they were quite well-informed about such news.
"One of Nieve's boxes, I foresaw it."
Constantine patted Hellboy's large shoulder.
"Nieve what?"
Hellboy was a bit confused.
"Vivienne Nieve! The Blood Queen. A restless witch from the fifteenth century. Among all her abilities, the plague alone almost destroyed Britain. This time, it might be the whole world."
Constantine still wore a smile as he explained, though his body trembled slightly.
As a psychic, he knew very well how powerful the legendary Blood Queen was.
"King Arthur himself killed this demon, dividing her with Excalibur and sealing her in boxes, hidden in multiple locations."
Captain Daimio interjected, simultaneously giving Constantine a stern glare. Constantine's smile unnerved him somewhat.
"The Osiris Club found one a long time ago and made her part of their collection."
Professor Bruttenholm concluded.
"Alright, so now we go report what the Osiris Club did, then find the box, then find the person who wants to put her back together. Fantastic."
After speaking, Hellboy rummaged through his father's pocket, pulled out a chocolate bar, tore open the wrapper, and put it in his mouth, making crunching sounds. It sounded like the chocolate bar was super high quality.
"Once the box is found, you go back to your cage!"
Captain Daimio said in an angry tone, then walked directly into the elevator.
He had no fondness for Hellboy, but his anger stemmed from the fact that he had actually asked Constantine to join the team.
"My cage?"
Hellboy pressed the elevator door, yelling at Daimio:
"I'll specifically ask you to clean the sawdust out of my litter box! Can't wait for you to smell demon shit, pal!"
"Alright, you guys go directly to the Osiris Club. I'm going back to base to find the whereabouts of the other boxes."
Professor Bruttenholm patted Hellboy's arm.
"Son, there are your new toys in the car, and your favorite things. But remember to be moderate. Neither sweets nor tobacco are good for you."
Professor Bruttenholm leaned his head close to Hellboy, and Hellboy obediently lowered his head, bringing his ear close to his father.
"And, stay away from Constantine. That guy, while very capable, you know, his teammates never end up well."
After whispering, Professor Bruttenholm directly entered the other elevator, waving goodbye.
Good night.
