With a single swing of his arm, Rorschach lifted Daimio, who was still on the ground, and then slammed him down again. A triangle choke, once formed, is difficult to break free from when the strength difference isn't significant, but now, the disparity in their strength was beyond reason.
"M11, your operations always leave traces, but what you hide is unfair to ordinary people!" Rorschach withdrew his hand and crouched down, looking at the pained Daimio. According to his habits, the next step would be violent interrogation to extract the truth.
"Crack!" With a sound, one of Daimio's fingers was directly broken by Rorschach. A pair of fiery eyes stared at Daimio, momentarily making the tough man disoriented. Although the pain of a broken finger was unbearable, it couldn't break his will.
"Rorschach, get up! This trip is for relaxation." Bul-Kathos had just sat in the driver's seat, then had to get out again, lifting Rorschach and setting him aside. He was slightly displeased with Rorschach's methods.
"Don't tell me you can't feel the aura. Don't be so fixated on purity." Bul-Kathos frowned, casually pulling Daimio off the ground and carefully examining Captain Daimio. Then he pulled out a handful of gold coins from his backpack and placed them in Daimio's hand. This was the barbarian's way of making amends; he clearly wouldn't break Rorschach's finger out of apology.
"Kid, I don't like monsters. You'd best not lose your mind." Bul-Kathos glared at the spreading scar on Daimio's face. Captain Daimio wasn't a bad person, or rather, he was a hero in his own right. But under emotions like anger, he would transform into an uncontrollable man-eating tiger, which often led to accidents.
Under Bul-Kathos's gaze, Daimio immediately calmed down, the scar on his face reverting to its original state, and he shook his broken finger.
"Rorschach, heal him." Bul-Kathos patted Rorschach's back. Someone approved by Tyrael was truly stubborn beyond words. Rorschach reluctantly took out a medicine bottle and placed it in Daimio's mouth. The pattern on his face transformed into something resembling a butterfly.
"Young man, anger can give you strength, but reason is the safeguard for wielding that power." Bul-Kathos added, looking at Daimio. Rorschach, without a word, sat back in the truck bed, hugging his knees again. Rorschach disliked owing favors, and he disliked others doing things for him. Bul-Kathos's actions now were undoubtedly a disapproval of his methods.
Daimio's finger instantly returned to its original state, and the scar on his face was reduced to a faint mark.
"Is this magic?" Hellboy nudged Constantine with his elbow, asking.
"I don't know, but the situation seems good right now? At least he won't be called 'Scarface' by you anymore." After speaking, Constantine bowed respectfully to the Ancient One, then hesitantly said: "Sorcerer Supreme, I believe you should have news about Ninue now."
The Ancient One nodded upon hearing this. She found this no longer erratic Constantine much more agreeable. "Don't worry, I will stop her before she can cause any trouble," the Ancient One said in a gentle tone.
Constantine didn't care about the notion that only Excalibur could harm Ninue; the Sorcerer Supreme had given her assurance.
"Forgive my impertinence, but what do you know about Merlin?" Constantine's tone carried a strong thirst for knowledge. When speaking of King Arthur, the wizard Merlin was an unavoidable topic.
"It seems a bit too early for you to delve into these matters, but you can know that Merlin was a great wizard."
The Ancient One's eyes slightly closed, not wanting to elaborate on the topic. The Merlin alongside King Arthur was merely an extremely faint projection of that powerful wizard.
The true Merlin was an observer of the entire multiverse. In different timelines, this wizard could even summon all the Sorcerer Supremes from both upstream and downstream of the river of time. Although he couldn't completely master the mighty power of time, he was clearly the most powerful wizard in this world.
In terms of standing, Merlin was even only below the Creation Gods, and now he seemed to be sealed in some strange place.
Incidentally, Wizard Merlin could even summon beings from outside the multiverse, like a certain individual who could regenerate twelve times and whose name was a secret.
"With all due respect, what you said is as good as saying nothing." Constantine straightened up, took a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and then reverted to his cynical self.
"That's all you're allowed to know." The Ancient One's figure flickered, returning to the passenger seat without another word.
"I believe that revenge should be something you handle yourself; only then can it be considered fair. If you wish to do so, Rorschach will not refuse your challenge."
Bul-Kathos glanced at Daimio before turning around. Rorschach had broken Daimio's finger, and even with compensation and healing, it wasn't absolutely fair.
Sometimes, fairness ended up being a messy account, so he wouldn't demand Rorschach break his own finger in return. Bearing responsibility after an incident occurred was the barbarians' creed of fairness.
Now he had to quickly drive his carload of people into London so Jill could rest properly. They had lingered here long enough, so he drove directly away from the spot, leaving the three to watch them depart.
"What do we do? We're still outside the city!" Hellboy rummaged through his pockets, pulled out a crushed chocolate bar, and poured it into his mouth.
"I can call an M11 vehicle to pick us up." Daimio picked up a gold coin and bit into it, leaving clear teeth marks. It wasn't that he cared so much about wealth, but biting a gold coin seemed to be a conventional custom.
"I'm thinking, how could Merlin, whom the Sorcerer Supreme calls a 'great wizard,' not be able to solve the Ninue problem? That's a bit strange."
Constantine said, his eyes flickering. Ninue might be powerful enough to make them helpless, but for the Sorcerer Supreme, it shouldn't be an issue. Let alone someone like Merlin.
"What do we do now? Ninue has gathered all her body parts. Do we just wait for the Sorcerer Supreme to deal with her?" Hellboy irritably flicked his tail, kicking up a cloud of dust on the ground.
"Go to Pendle Hill. Ninue's blood, according to legend, is sealed on that mountain."
Constantine took a deep drag from his cigarette and said calmly.
"Then why didn't you say so sooner? What was the point of us going to see Baba Yaga earlier?" Daimio casually tossed the gold coin to Constantine, then picked up his communication device and called for a vehicle.
"To teach that demon a lesson. Is that reason enough?" Constantine looked at the gold coin in his hand, then counted them one by one before putting them into his pocket, still playing with the coin that had teeth marks on it.
"By the way, this doesn't count towards my deserved remuneration and compensation. This is probably unexpected gain?"
Constantine gestured to Daimio with the coin.
