Chapter 335 - Chapter 333 Cocoa West Village is only so big

"No means no. These are library rules; no book is allowed to be taken out of the library. I know whose child you are. If you don't leave, I'll go to your house and tell on you!"

Cocoa West Village is only so big, so even if the administrator is from out of town, they've gotten to know each other by now.

"I'm short-staffed here. If you really want to read, you can come and help me pack up the books after closing time. There's no pay, but meals are provided, and you can read as many books as you like."

As Nami left dejectedly, the librarian seemed to soften, leaving behind these words before closing the library door.

"Let's go, stop looking. This village seems fine."

"Um."

Afterwards, Rosinandi and Gaspardi checked the surrounding area again and found no evidence of naval corruption. The base commander of the Sixteenth Branch was no rat.

This year, the rat is only 23 years old, and even in Sihai, where promotion is relatively easy, he has not yet become the base leader.

To date, the biggest stain Gaspard has removed is that of Admiral Nelson Roy of the Eighth Division.

He spent a great deal of manpower and resources searching for the unknown creature, the Millennium Dragon, and even turned the Eighth Branch into his own personal fiefdom.

Although the Navy did not mandate that each branch hand over a certain number of pirates, thanks to Nelson Roy's efforts, most of the Navy personnel in the branch were corrupted, and they even tried to silence the inspectors.

Now there's no need to even look for evidence. Gaspard and Rosinante's ranks are somewhat inflated in the Grand Line, and their strength is only at the floor of those ranks, but it's a different story in the Four Seas.

Gaspard is a force to be reckoned with in this area, and apart from Roy's die-hard loyalists, most of the navy are unwilling to stand up to him and oppose the navy at headquarters.

Roy overestimated his control over the navy and committed this act of rebellion without any justification, which meant that few people would be willing to follow him.

Even some of the navy personnel who were originally loyal to him eventually abandoned this guy. The inspector who came now is just a rear admiral, but the navy has countless rear admirals.

If we take this one down, who knows who will come next?

Meanwhile, in Windmill Village, a dog-headed warship is leaving port.

"Goodbye, Grandpa Iron!"

Unlike usual, Luffy actually came to the beach this time and took the initiative to see Garp and the others off.

In the past, when Garp ended his vacation and left the East Blue, Luffy would never do this. Even if he came, he would just laugh and celebrate that Garp was away from him.

"Hahaha, this kid has finally changed!"

On the warship, Garp was also laughing, seemingly overjoyed by Luffy's transformation.

However, Bogart, Garp's second-in-command, had a strange expression. If he wasn't mistaken, Luffy was calling him "Grandpa Iron."

Luffy is Garp's grandson, and Bogart, as Garp's adjutant, naturally knows this. Adding the word "iron" changes the meaning entirely.

Unfortunately, the oblivious Garp didn't notice this problem.

In fact, Luffy's goodbye wasn't actually said to Garp, but to the Project version of Garp.

Although both belong to the Project series, Project Garp and Project Shiki are very different.

Project Shiki is an absolutely loyal mechanical warrior, even if it lowers his limits somewhat.

Project Garp is still in his developmental stage, but he possesses many hidden strengths, such as in his mindset. Project Garp has a higher level of autonomy, and given his current growth trajectory, his future actions will become more in line with his true self.

In summary, he will be more unconventional, but not as eccentric as Garp himself. He might even rebel when forced to carry out orders he doesn't want to do.

Under normal circumstances, the command is greater than Project Garp's own ideas, but in special circumstances, no one can say for sure.

This situation can certainly be resolved by bringing it back and restarting it, and all these problems will be solved. However, only Oran himself, who has the highest privileges, can do this.

As for whether the defection will have any impact, that has nothing to do with Oran. Oran finalized all the details with the Navy at the beginning of the project and also explained the possible risks.

Oran himself couldn't predict exactly what would happen; it all depended on Project Garp's growth process.

Moreover, when setting up the initial modules, Project Garp included a more rational parenting module. Garp spent this time plowing the fields, since he would be back in the East Blue for several months at a time and had to do something.

Now that Garp is purging pirates and Gaspard is cracking down on the Navy's blemishes, the East Blue is actually ushering in its purest time.

After Garp left, the task of taking care of Luffy was entrusted to Project Garp. Over time, Luffy discovered that this iron-willed old man was more human than his own grandfather.

At least they won't use that Spartan-style extreme training, and they'll even play with Luffy occasionally, which even Garp himself is very satisfied with.

If it weren't for other requirements from headquarters, and the fact that Project Garp also needs to return to Firefly Island periodically for inspections and upgrades, Garp would have been planning to leave this thing here as a babysitter.
