"So now what happens?" Luke asked while signing the book.
Even now he still did not fully understand what came next.
Would the avatar conflict continue forever?
Was he still part of the system?
Or was he just going to remain some cosmic puppet being moved around by manifestations for the rest of his existence?
"Oh, about that," Humanity said casually. "I'll be taking the System back."
Luke immediately looked up from the book.
Humanity raised a hand before he could misunderstand.
"Relax," he said. "I'm only taking back the System itself, not your powers."
Luke stayed silent while listening.
"The System was never your actual power," Humanity explained. "It was a growth tool designed to guide your development faster than normal."
He pointed toward Luke afterward.
"And honestly? It worked perfectly. Look at yourself now."
Luke glanced down at his hand quietly.
"The System pushed you into situations where you evolved," Humanity continued. "Now it's unnecessary. At this point it would just become a set of instructions limiting you."
Luke exhaled slightly in relief.
"That's good," he admitted. "For a second I thought you were about to turn me back into a normal guy."
Humanity looked at him curiously.
"Didn't you want a normal life at the beginning?"
Luke leaned back against the chair slightly.
"Maybe at the start," he admitted. "But now I actually like the current me."
A faint smile appeared on his face afterward.
"Having power means if something happens, I can stand in front of the people I care about instead of behind them."
Humanity slowly nodded.
"Yeah…" he said with a knowing expression. "Family."
Then his smile became slightly more amused.
"A very large family."
Luke immediately narrowed his eyes.
"…Hold on."
Humanity looked innocent.
"So you watch everything?" Luke asked suspiciously. "Because if you're also watching bedroom stuff then you're genuinely creepy."
Humanity coughed awkwardly.
"In my defense," he replied, "I am the collective manifestation of humanity. Human perversion unfortunately comes included in the package."
Then he quickly raised both hands.
"But I don't watch those moments. I have morals."
Luke stared at him silently.
Humanity slowly looked away afterward.
"…Most of the time," he muttered quietly.
Honestly, considering this was the same being that kidnapped Luke from Earth and threw him into a multiversal death game, his definition of morals was already highly questionable.
Then Humanity snapped his fingers casually.
Luke immediately felt the System disappear completely from his existence.
The familiar notifications, menus, quests, and interfaces vanished without leaving behind even a trace. The strange guiding presence that had followed him ever since he arrived in the omniverse was simply gone.
But the power remained.
Luke could still feel the void inside him, the dimensional authority, the absurd strength, and every ability he had gained across his journey. Nothing had weakened at all.
Humanity stretched his arms afterward like someone finally finishing a long day of work.
"And honestly," he said casually, "I'm retiring."
Luke looked at him like he had gone insane.
"Retiring?"
"Yeah," Humanity replied while leaning back comfortably. "I'm planning to move to another Earth somewhere far away from all this cosmic nonsense."
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"I want to experience normal human life properly for once. No manifestations, no avatar wars, no omniversal disasters happening every week."
Luke stared at him for several seconds before speaking again.
"Can manifestations even retire?" he asked. "You people sound less like individuals and more like cosmic laws."
Humanity laughed quietly.
"Well technically," he said, "someone still needs to inherit the authority afterward."
The moment Luke heard that, a terrible feeling formed in his stomach.
And unfortunately—
That feeling turned out to be completely correct.
Humanity raised one hand casually.
Then part of the enormous blue authority surrounding his existence separated from him slowly like flowing energy before drifting directly toward Luke.
Luke's eyes widened immediately.
"Wait—"
The blue energy entered his body before he could react.
A massive amount of information exploded inside his mind instantly. Luke felt concepts, emotions, instincts, and authority merge directly into his existence itself while traces of Humanity's power fused into him naturally.
Humanity watched the entire thing happen with a satisfied expression.
"Congratulations," he said casually afterward. "You just became one of the newer manifestations in the omniverse."
Luke sat there completely frozen.
His brain genuinely stopped processing for several seconds.
Because after everything he had survived,
After all the fighting, the systems, the manifestations, the cosmic insanity—
This bastard had somehow promoted him into becoming part of the problem itself.
"And now," Humanity said while standing up, "I'm finally going to enjoy my peaceful daily life."
Blue energy slowly gathered around him as he prepared to leave.
But before he could disappear, a hand landed heavily on his shoulder.
Humanity immediately froze.
Luke stood behind him with a gloomy smile on his face.
"Enjoy daily life?" Luke repeated slowly. "Let me help you experience the full protagonist package first."
Humanity suddenly felt an extremely bad feeling.
A very, very bad feeling.
Because he had just remembered one important detail.
At the beginning of this entire journey—
He really did throw Luke into another universe as a broke homeless nobody with almost no preparation.
"Ummm…" Humanity said carefully while slowly turning his head. "Would it make things slightly better if I said it was for character development?"
Luke only smiled wider.
That somehow felt far more terrifying than if he started shouting.
