"Hurt me?"
Blake felt the heat crawl up his neck and settle across his cheeks. The words sounded absurd the moment they left his mouth, almost laughable. Someone like him, completely ordinary, could never truly hurt someone like Myles.
Not really.
He buried his head, hiding himself in the crook of Myles' neck, his breath warm against his skin.
"I want to ask you something…"
He had to.
He needed to.
If he didn't start asking, didn't start pushing, he'd stay stuck exactly where he was.
Still, he hesitated.
His arms tightened slightly around Myles, holding on like he needed the contact to be sure of himself.
"Go ahead."
"…."
Blake lifted his head slowly, his gaze locking onto Myles' without wavering this time.
"I want to know why you're so unwilling to be around people."
Myles looked down at him, and under that gaze, Blake's heart began pounding, loud and violent, like it was trying to break free from his chest.
