Chapter 823 - Chapter 823

Then, under the horrified gaze of everyone nearby, Saitama swung his arm and yanked the several-tons-heavy mechanical shark clean off the ground! The massive metal body howled through the air with a violent rush of wind. Using his heel as a pivot, Saitama rotated half a turn and hurled the mechanical shark toward a distant stretch of sea packed with jagged reefs!

"Whoooosh—BOOM!!!"

The mechanical shark traced a low arc and slammed precisely into two other companions that were cruising among the rocks. The impact was deafening. Sparks exploded everywhere, and metal parts blasted outward like shrapnel. In an instant, all three mechanical sharks became a tangled heap of scrap iron and sank into the sea, leaving only oil slicks and bubbles on the surface.

The utterly absurd scene made the chaos around them freeze for a beat.

But the shark pack didn't stop.

If anything, they seemed enraged—more electronic eyes glowing red locked onto Saitama as he stood in the shallows.

Saitama glanced at his hand, then at the mechanical sharks closing in again, and sighed.

"Looks like I won't get to relax on my vacation unless I clean these up properly."

He walked straight toward deeper water.

Another mechanical shark roared as it launched itself up, blasting a high-pressure water jet as it lunged at him. Saitama reached out again

Boom!

Another reef got obliterated, along with a mechanical shark hiding behind it, smashed into pieces.

So he stood there in seawater up to his waist.

One came in—he threw one.

His movements were mechanical, efficient, and suffocatingly calm. Every throw came with a thunderous crash and a burst of metal sparks. In only a few dozen seconds, the number of mechanical sharks near the shore dropped sharply, and the sea surface became littered with oil slicks and debris.

While repeating this "whack-a-mole" routine, Saitama noticed something.

These mechanical sharks were savage, but their behavior patterns were oddly rigid. Especially after he destroyed certain ones, the remaining sharks would pause—just for an extremely brief moment, like a stutter in their response.

And the energy sparks bursting from their damaged bodies all faintly pointed in the same direction

Far out in the deep sea, away from shore.

"Oh? So they're being remote-controlled?" Saitama tilted his head.

He stopped bothering with the remaining sharks still attacking him uselessly. Taking a deep breath, he sank beneath the surface.

Underwater visibility was low, but it seemed to make no difference to him. He shot forward like a torpedo straight toward the direction he'd sensed, moving so fast he even left a brief hollow tunnel behind him in the water.

After diving nearly a hundred meters, the silhouette of a massive, long-abandoned deep-sea drilling platform appeared ahead. The bottom of the platform had been modified—countless thick cables extended outward like tentacles, connecting to even deeper devices.

And those mechanical sharks… were being released periodically from those devices.

Saitama swam to the platform's core section. There was a heavily armored area there, emitting a faint pulsing glow.

He didn't hesitate.

He raised his hand and threw a punch.

The seawater was forced away by the overwhelming power, forming a brief vacuum. His fist pierced through multiple layers of reinforced steel plating with ease, striking precisely a control chip flickering with an ominous red light.

"…Crack… bzzzzzz—"

The chip instantly crumbled into dust, and the red light went out.
