This time, the sound wave seemed to carry mental interference too—even Carol felt a wave of dizziness. The remaining windows along the docks burst on the spot, and the moored ships let out that teeth-grinding screech of twisted metal.
Saitama didn't seem affected. He only frowned, dug a finger into his ear, and muttered, "So loud."
He stepped forward and walked straight into the thick fog where the roar was coming from. Carol tried to stop him. "Careful! Its main body is strong—"
But Saitama was already swallowed by the fog. Carol could only rise higher, staring tensely at the murky area below.
Saitama walked through fog so dense visibility was basically zero, yet he moved as if he knew exactly where he was going. Soon, he saw the monster.
Its body looked like a whale magnified several times over. Its skin was smooth and scaleless, an unhealthy gray-white. Its head was enormous, and around its mouth were layered, speaker-like folds—sound-producing organs that trembled faintly, brewing up its next roar.
The monster also noticed Saitama approaching. It seemed enraged at being ignored by such a tiny creature. It opened its massive maw, energy gathering deep in its throat—about to unleash its strongest infrasound attack!
Right before it roared, Saitama moved.
He took one step and crossed the distance to stand right in front of it. In the instant before the sound could erupt, simple and direct
He shoved a punch straight into that open mouth packed with folded sound organs!
"Guh—!"
The monster's roar was forcibly stuffed back down, turning into a muffled, bizarre whimper. The powerful infrasound detonated inside its own mouth, unable to spread outward—and instead slammed into its internal organs, causing violent shock and destruction.
The monster's gigantic body spasmed. Under its smooth skin, it looked as if waves were rolling. Its huge eyes bulged, filled with pain and disbelief. It struggled for only a few seconds before losing all vitality, going limp and sinking into the murky seawater beside the docks, leaving only a chain of massive bubbles.
Saitama shook the slimy saliva off his hand, wearing a disgusted expression. "Being loud is one thing, but that breath was seriously nasty."
At that moment, Ms. Marvel, Carol, landed by the docks. She stared at the sea as it gradually calmed, then looked at Saitama, still flicking his hand. She'd clearly sensed that infrasound energy self-destruct and get annihilated inside the monster's body.
She glanced at her own fist, blazing with twin-star power… then at Saitama's fist, which looked completely ordinary.
And suddenly, she felt that the Tesseract she once believed was indestructible… maybe wasn't that hard in front of this man.
The city's sewer system became the source of nightmares.
A strange clay-like lifeform surged up from the depths. They could freely merge into gigantic clay monsters, or split into countless small mud pieces to evade attacks. They could even copy the form of anything they touched—including weapons, tools, 007, and even living people!
Fire hydrants, mailboxes, even patrolling police cars could suddenly melt and turn into clay monsters, attacking without warning. Daredevil, used his superhuman senses to track the source of the clay creatures to somewhere deep in the sewers—but facing an enemy that could split and recombine endlessly, even he found it tricky.
Saitama was invited to help (mainly because cleanup costs were low). He entered the dark, damp, foul-smelling main sewer tunnel together with Daredevil. From time to time, clay dripped from the walls, gathering into small clay monsters that pounced—only to get casually swatted apart by Saitama.
