"When this is done," I said softly, "let's soak in the tub all night, okay? I don't plan to die."
Sung-min looked at me with eyes of disbelief. He couldn't understand it. And he didn't want to either. Why did I have to do this? Why did I always have to—?
I looked away from him.
It's not like I want to sacrifice myself. I don't want to be apart from him either, but this strange phenomenon is something I can only get to the bottom of by experimenting on myself.
The worst outcome is me dying, and even that isn't so bad because then I can see the overseer again and get to ask all the questions I'm curious about.
This would be a walk in the park, haha.
But that didn't mean I wouldn't suffer.
Before Sung-min could say anything else, I looked past him.
"Min-jae," I called. "Do me a favor and hold Sung-min back. I'll be back soon."
Sung-min's brows knitted together and Min-jae raised a brow.
"Ah, such a favor. What makes you think I'll accept?"
