Chapter 310 - Chapter 310 – Zeno-sama: Did the Great Demon God Lose Levels?

"You lost?" Zeno-sama asked again.

"We were about even. He didn't come out of it unscathed either." The Grand Priest smiled faintly and didn't go into detail. "At the very least, for now, we and the Demon Realm will remain at peace."

"Did the Great Demon God say that himself?" Zeno-sama asked.

"Yes." The Grand Priest nodded.

"If he hadn't agreed, I would've erased the entire Demon Realm right away." Zeno-sama looked at the Grand Priest with obvious concern, his small fists clenched tight.

"It's nothing serious. I'm sorry to have worried you, Zeno-sama." The Grand Priest kept smiling, then let out a soft sigh. "That said, I'll need to focus on training for a while and restore my angelic power first."

"Your level has dropped to around 80 now, right?" Zeno-sama asked.

"More or less." The Grand Priest nodded.

"How long will it take to recover your peak strength?" Zeno-sama asked again.

"At least ten years," the Grand Priest said after a moment's thought.

"Did the Great Demon God lose levels too?" Zeno-sama asked.

"About the same." The Grand Priest nodded again. "Zeno-sama, I won't keep talking. I should begin my training."

"Then hurry and go," Zeno-sama said, waving him off.

With a flicker, the Grand Priest vanished from the spot.

Before long, he returned to his own residence and began restoring his angelic power.

Universe 6, Planet Sadala.

A spaceship shot into the sky and quickly entered outer space.

Inside were Caulifla and Cabba.

Caulifla had originally planned to bring all her underlings with her to Earth.

But Renso had told her there was no need to take that many people.

The more people they brought, the more likely they were to attract Goku's or Vegeta's attention.

It would be better to bring only Cabba.

Caulifla couldn't really argue with her brother's decision.

Besides, the ship Renso had provided was fairly small, so there wasn't room for many passengers anyway. In the end, she had no choice but to go along with it.

"Hey, what was your name again?" Caulifla asked, leaning back in her seat with one leg crossed over the other as she glanced sideways at Cabba.

Cabba fell silent.

So after all this time, you still don't remember my name?

Am I really that forgettable?

Still, this girl really is strong.

No wonder she's Renso's sister.

I used to think that aside from the prince, I was the strongest Saiyan my age.

Looks like there's always someone stronger out there.

"My name is Cabba…" he answered at once, as respectfully as ever.

"You're pretty average," Caulifla said with a grin. "If you train hard enough, you might one day have a tiny chance of surpassing me."

"Yes… I'll train hard from now on!" Cabba nodded firmly.

"Let me ask you something. How long will it take us to get to Earth from here?" Caulifla asked.

"At this ship's speed, at least seven days," Cabba replied.

"Then I'm gonna get some sleep." Caulifla stretched lazily.

"Uh… go ahead. I'm not sleepy yet," Cabba said.

"I'm heading in, then. Keep an eye on the ship. Don't go smashing it into an asteroid," Caulifla warned before leaving.

"Don't worry. Even if we hit one, the ship would be fine," Cabba said with a smile.

"My brother gave me this ship. If it gets scratched, you're paying for it," Caulifla snorted.

"Uh… I'll keep a close eye on it," Cabba said bitterly, scratching his head.

The spaceship left a brilliant trail across the stars as it sped toward Earth.

After some more time passed, Cabba's pupils suddenly tightened, and he immediately hit the brakes.

The ship slowly came to a stop in space.

He had stopped because he had seen someone familiar drifting ahead.

The figure floated through space like a lone leaf on water.

From the looks of it, he had passed out.

"Frost!" Cabba cried out.

Over the past few years, Cabba and Frost had gotten along fairly well. They had carried out missions together often, and their teamwork had always been solid.

Now that he had found Frost unconscious in space, there was no way Cabba could just ignore him.

He hurriedly put on an oxygen mask, left the ship, and rushed through space to grab Frost and bring him back inside.

Then he tried to wake him.

Frost's eyes flew open, filled with murderous rage.

Smack!

He lunged forward, seized Cabba by the throat, and gradually tightened his grip.

"Damn you! I'll kill you!" Frost roared.

Frost felt like he'd been through hell.

Those two had beaten him up twice in a row.

There was no way he was letting them off.

They hadn't even given him time to prepare before knocking him out cold.

To Frost, it felt like a nightmare, and the two men from that nightmare had become demons lodged in his mind.

Cabba couldn't get a word out with Frost crushing his throat. His face turned bright red.

Right then—

Smack!

The cabin door opened, and Caulifla stepped out. One glance was enough for her to see the bizarre scene in front of her.

She rushed forward and planted a kick right in Frost's face, sending him crashing to the floor.

"Cough—cough—" Cabba bent over, coughing several times before he finally managed to breathe properly again. He gulped in air, and some of the color slowly returned to his face. "That was close. I almost died." Still shaken, he quickly turned to Caulifla. "Thanks a lot, Caulifla!"

"What's going on here?" Caulifla asked, already annoyed. "Why is there some weird guy on our ship?"

Frost rubbed his aching face, instantly furious and ready to explode.

"Frost, what's wrong? It's me, Cabba!" Cabba called out in a hurry.

Frost snapped back to himself, turned to look at Cabba, and finally understood.

"C-Cabba? You brought me onto this ship?" His expression gradually calmed.

Cabba nodded.

"Sorry about that… I was having a nightmare. Did I hurt you?" Frost apologized, then glanced at Caulifla.

That little brat had one vicious kick.

His face was still burning from it.

He glanced at a dark reflective panel and saw a shoe print stamped across his face.

I'll find a chance to get this brat killed.

You're the one who kicked me.

That was what he was thinking, but Frost still put on a refined smile and slipped right back into his usual hypocritical persona.

"Frost, what happened?" Cabba asked with concern.

Frost didn't hide anything. He told Cabba everything that had happened to him from start to finish.

"Them again?" Cabba gritted his teeth. "One day, I'm going to beat them."

"You've met them too?" Frost asked, startled.

Cabba had no choice but to explain everything that had happened on Planet Sadala as well.

When he finished, Frost fell silent.

Those two are really that strong?

"I've never heard anything about your prince before," Frost said after a pause.

"His Highness was training away from Planet Sadala for years. He only returned with the princess last year," Cabba explained. "And at the First Saiyan Martial Arts Tournament on Planet Sadala, the prince won the championship with overwhelming strength."

"Really? Then your prince must be quite powerful," Frost said, though he didn't seem especially bothered.

I haven't even transformed yet.

If I did, what would a bunch of Saiyans amount to?

"So you're Frost? I've heard about you for a while now." Caulifla was openly sizing him up from head to toe.

"Yes…" Frost nodded and shot her a sidelong look.

If Cabba weren't here, I'd wipe you out in seconds.

"Oh, right, Frost. Let me introduce you," Cabba said, pointing at Caulifla. "This is Caulifla. She's Renso's sister."

"R-Renso?" Frost's pupils shrank, and his face changed at once.

He froze for a moment.

"So you're Renso's sister. Please forgive my rudeness." Frost's attitude did a complete one-eighty.

"Hey, judging from that look on your face, you probably owe my brother a lot of money," Caulifla said with a grin as she studied him.

"Well… when I was younger, Renso took care of me more than once." Frost let out an awkward laugh and quickly tried to explain.

"You should know how to repay kindness." Caulifla stepped forward, rose onto her toes, and patted him on the shoulder.

Frost said nothing.

The tiptoe part was just insulting.

"You're right," Frost said dryly, forcing himself to nod along.

"So how are you planning to repay him?" Caulifla asked with a bright smile.

"What would you like me to do?" Frost asked.

"Share some of your gear and supplies with me," Caulifla said with a sly grin.

"Of course, of course. That's no problem at all," Frost said, visibly relieved as he agreed at once.

Gear and supplies were the one thing he had no shortage of.

He had already gained secret control over several planets.

If she wanted supplies, he could give her supplies.

"By the way, where are you two heading?" Frost asked, glancing at the ship's course with some curiosity.

Cabba didn't hide it. He told Frost their destination and the purpose of the trip.

"So those two live on Earth?" Frost's eyes lit up. "Perfect. I'm coming with you."

Goku and Vegeta, huh?

Just wait.

Once I get to Earth, I won't mind making the people on your planet suffer a little first.

Elsewhere in Universe 6, another spaceship was moving through the stars.

It was the same ship Goku and Vegeta had taken from Frost.

"Vegeta, we couldn't find my dad, and we've already contacted Ken… so where do we go next?" Goku asked, scratching his head.

"Kakarot, next time we try to find Planet Sadala from Earth, it should be pretty easy, right?" Vegeta asked.

"Probably. As long as I can sense their ki from Earth, it shouldn't be a problem," Goku nodded.

"Then we go back and train properly. Once we're stronger than that Temat guy, we come back and beat the hell out of him," Vegeta said with a huff.

"It's already been hours, and Ken still hasn't sent us a reply." Goku scratched his head, looking baffled. "I wonder who Temat really is. Is he actually Ken's brother?"

"I can tell you very responsibly that he is not," Vegeta said firmly. "I've never heard of Ken having a brother. Besides, Saiyans rarely have twins. If they do, the whole planet knows about it."

"I see…" Goku still couldn't make sense of it.

"Let's go back to Earth first," Vegeta suggested. "I remember someone saying the Hyperbolic Time Chamber could be upgraded. If it was, we might be able to stay inside longer. I don't know how that's going."

"Which way is Earth?" Goku asked, looking around in space.

"That way." Vegeta pointed in a direction.

After all, Vegeta had spent a long time traveling through space in the past, so his sense of direction was still sharp.

Unlike Goku, who was completely lost out here and couldn't tell one direction from another.

"Let me see if I can sense anyone on Earth." Goku pressed two fingers to his forehead and focused intently on the ki coming from that direction.

A minute passed.

"Found it. Vegeta, grab on!" Goku said, reaching out a hand.

Vegeta's expression stiffened, but he still obediently reached over and took Goku's hand.

Whoosh!

Goku used Instant Transmission and vanished on the spot.

In the blink of an eye, he and Vegeta arrived on the Lookout.

"Goku? Vegeta?" Piccolo stared at them in surprise.

"Goku, what happened to you? You look exhausted!" Dende asked anxiously, hurrying over.

"Vegeta and I went to Planet Sadala and fought their prince… that guy was insanely strong." Goku kept marveling over it. "I thought I'd already gotten really strong, but I never imagined the prince of Planet Sadala would be this powerful."

"The prince of Planet Sadala? The Saiyan planet in this universe?" Piccolo asked, following what he meant.

"Yeah." Goku nodded.

"Goku, let me heal you first." Dende stepped forward immediately.

"Hahaha, I can heal too, but it uses up my divine power. If you do it for me, that helps a lot. Thanks, Dende," Goku said, perfectly happy to accept.

After healing Goku, Dende patched up Vegeta as well.

Then Vegeta explained why they had come.

"No. We haven't upgraded the Hyperbolic Time Chamber recently," Piccolo said, shaking his head.

Vegeta immediately looked like his whole mood had collapsed.

"What have you been doing all year?" he snapped.

"I need to train too," Piccolo snorted.

"How long would the upgrade take?" Vegeta asked darkly.

"If you want to spend much longer inside without damaging the room… at least a year," Piccolo replied.

Vegeta fell silent.

A year!

There was no way he could wait that long.

"How many days can I still use it for now?" Vegeta asked again.

"Didn't you use up all your time back during the Cell fight?" Piccolo glanced at him sideways.

Vegeta had nothing to say to that.

Back then, just to deal with Cell, I actually burned through all my time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

What a waste.

"There's no need to obsess over training in there, Vegeta. We can get stronger outside too," Goku said with a laugh.

"Tch." Vegeta snorted, turned into a streak of light, and shot away from the Lookout.

"I'm leaving too, Piccolo. Dende." Goku waved to them.

As for Mr. Popo, he was downstairs cleaning and had no idea Goku and Vegeta had come.

"Goku, is that Temat guy really that strong?" Piccolo asked.

"Yeah. At least from what I felt, he was way stronger than me." Goku nodded. "I don't think I could beat him even if I mastered Super Saiyan Blue."

"Super Saiyan Blue?" Piccolo blinked.

"Ah… that's the name Ken gave that blue-haired form last time," Goku explained.

"That name's pretty random. At that rate, regular Super Saiyan might as well be called the blond one," Piccolo said with a grin.

"Haha, yeah." Goku laughed and waved goodbye.

Universe 10, the Supreme Kai Realm.

"Supreme Kai, I'm heading out to work," Zamasu said, bowing respectfully to Gowasu.

"Go on, Zamasu." Gowasu took a sip of tea with one hand and waved the other with a pleased smile.

"Yes!" Zamasu bowed again and then left the Supreme Kai Realm.

Gowasu had been quite satisfied with Zamasu's performance.

When Zamasu had first come back after the selection for the God of Destruction, his temper had seemed a little unstable, but after some time, that problem had completely disappeared.

Now he was already able to go out and handle work on his own.

Gowasu had even begun handing over many of the duties a Supreme Kai was supposed to carry out.

Zamasu had done them reasonably well.

After all, training a qualified Supreme Kai took a very long time.

Zamasu had originally been only a Kai, so reaching this point was already impressive.

Just as Zamasu was about to leave, Gowasu spoke again.

"By the way, Zamasu, which world are you planning to develop today?" Gowasu asked with a smile.

"The northern sector again, Supreme Kai," Zamasu replied, bowing once more. The corners of his mouth, however, curled up very slightly.

"The northern sector again? That planet called Aoli?" Gowasu asked.

"Yes, Supreme Kai." Zamasu nodded.

"Zamasu, don't get too fixated on a single world. You've been developing that planet for years now, haven't you?" Gowasu advised.

"I want to develop that planet properly." Zamasu spoke with conviction. "If I can't properly develop one planet, how could I ever develop an entire universe?"

Gowasu fell silent.

That was annoyingly hard to argue with.

"Then do as you see fit," Gowasu said at last, deciding not to press further.

There was still some time before his retirement. During that time, he could continue training Zamasu.

"Yes, Supreme Kai!" Zamasu bowed again, backed away a few steps, and then used Instant Transmission to leave.

Whoosh!

In the blink of an eye, Zamasu appeared on a flourishing planet.

At present, however, no mortals had been born there yet. Only primitive animals existed on it.

Zamasu liked this planet very much.

Over the next half hour, he interfered with some of the primitive life on the world.

For example, he helped lost tadpoles find their mother.

He built a comfortable cave for a homeless animal.

He also made sure a monkey that had been abusing a cute kitten got a taste of the same treatment.

Once he had casually dealt with those matters, Zamasu's lips curved upward, and a different kind of anticipation appeared on his face.

Whoosh!

The next instant, he used Instant Transmission again and appeared above a massive planet in the southern sector.

It was a world as large as Jupiter from Universe 7, and its name was Planet Wotu.

Planet Wotu had a population of fifty billion.

Within this galaxy, it had once been one of the most prosperous worlds in existence.

But by now, that prosperity was gone. A quarter of the planet had already been reduced to apocalyptic ruin.

The planet's mortals had been slaughtered in staggering numbers.

Zamasu floated in the sky above the planet like a descending god, looking down on a vast city below.

The residents of the city quickly noticed him hanging in the air, and one after another, their faces turned pale as their bodies shook violently.

The people of Planet Wotu came in all kinds of forms. Some looked like Earthlings or Saiyans, while others had appearances from entirely different star regions. It was a world where all kinds of races had gathered together.

"That's… isn't that the devil?"

"The devil's here! Run!"

"That devil has come to our city!"

The residents scattered in all directions.

The whole city descended into chaos.

Zamasu looked over the disorder below, and the smile on his face grew darker and darker.

"City Guard! For the sake of our city, fight that devil!"

At that moment, soldiers raised advanced weapons and aimed them at Zamasu in the sky.

"Open fire!"

Rat-tat-tat!

Bullets and energy rounds poured upward at him without pause.

"Hmph. Foolish mortals." Zamasu let out a contemptuous laugh and didn't even bother to dodge.

The energy blasts struck his body and couldn't even scratch him.

Planet Wotu's people possessed highly advanced technology. After all, it was one of the largest inhabited worlds in this galaxy, and many aliens had come here to settle and develop it. Even so, it was still only a technology-based planet, not one with real fighting power.

Because across this entire galaxy, almost none of its mortals possessed any real combat ability.
