The Supreme Kai looked up and saw that the attack had come from Caulifla.
"I thought that guy was supposed to be something special," Caulifla said proudly, wagging her finger. "One blast was enough to kill him."
"Caulifla, your hair looks pretty wild right now," Gohan said with a smile.
"Don't talk about my hair!" Caulifla snapped.
"Pui Pui! You idiot, you got careless! Why didn't you dodge?" Babidi shouted at what was left of Pui Pui, his face going pale. Then he turned desperately to Yakon. "Yakon, stop them! You're all I have left!"
"Relax, Babidi. With me here, they're nothing," Yakon said with a nasty grin, showing off rows of sharp fangs as drool dripped from his mouth.
Whoosh!
The moment Yakon finished speaking, another blast dropped from the sky.
Thud!
It slammed straight into him.
"Aaagh…"
Yakon screamed once, his body turning black as smoke poured off him. He collapsed and died on the spot.
"Caulifla, you were right. These guys aren't that strong," Cabba said with a proud grin.
"Told you." Caulifla bumped fists with him.
The moment Cabba's fist touched her hand, his face went red.
"What's wrong with your face? Is that a new transformation?" Caulifla asked curiously.
"N-No, it's nothing…" Cabba quickly shook his head, even more embarrassed.
The Supreme Kai stared blankly.
Kibito's eyes were wide too, his face full of disbelief.
These people are way too strong.
They took Yakon out that easily?
Then again, they had already killed Dabura without much trouble. A monster like Yakon was nothing compared to that.
Babidi looked at Yakon's corpse and finally realized he was alone.
Despair filled his eyes.
Then he clenched his teeth and turned toward the blue ice flame beside him.
"Papparapah! Papparapah! Papparapah!"
Babidi kept chanting, trying to wake Majin Buu from the ice flame.
The Supreme Kai suddenly burst into laughter.
Babidi froze and looked at him, confused.
"What are you laughing at?" Babidi asked.
"Babidi, you still don't know, do you?" The Supreme Kai's smile grew wider. "That seal holding Majin Buu isn't the same one your father used back then. No matter how hard you chant, your spell won't open it."
"That's right, Supreme Kai!" Kibito's face lit up as he finally remembered. "We were the ones who sealed him. I almost forgot!"
"I didn't," the Supreme Kai said with a bright smile.
"If you remembered, then you already knew Babidi couldn't wake Buu with magic, right?" Kibito paused, realizing the Supreme Kai had been acting the whole time.
He fooled even me.
"Exactly, Kibito!" the Supreme Kai laughed. "I wanted to give Babidi a little hope first, then crush it completely."
"You're really cruel, Supreme Kai!" Kibito laughed even harder.
"What happened?" Goku asked, turning to Piccolo. Piccolo's hearing was better than his.
"The Supreme Kai says he was the one who sealed Majin Buu, so Babidi probably can't break the seal with magic," Piccolo said. "Looks like the Supreme Kai was acting earlier."
"Tch. His face went white when he saw Dabura. That part definitely wasn't acting," Vegeta said with a sneer.
"That's true," Piccolo agreed.
"So Majin Buu probably isn't coming out?" Vegeta looked annoyed. "I was hoping to fight someone like that."
"Vegeta, don't underestimate him," Goku said quickly. "Ken said Majin Buu might be stronger than Merus."
"He's been sealed for so long. His power must have dropped," Vegeta said. "Even if he gets out, there's no way he's still stronger than Merus."
"I think that makes sense," Piccolo said with a nod.
Gohan and Kale stayed quiet. They were still the younger ones here, so they simply listened.
"So… this is basically solved, right?" Goku said, scratching his head with a smile.
"Kakarot, if Buu isn't coming out, then it's time for our fight," Vegeta said, his eyes burning with excitement.
"Uh… sure. Should we go somewhere else?" Goku asked after thinking it over.
"Anywhere you want," Vegeta said confidently.
"Then I'll use Instant Transmission and take us to an empty place. That way we can fight properly," Goku said.
Vegeta said nothing, but that counted as agreement.
"Okay, let's go." Goku looked toward the distant stars and found a planet with breathable air.
Then he held out his hand to Vegeta.
Vegeta bared his teeth, annoyed, but still put his hand on Goku's.
At least he was wearing gloves. That made it a little less unpleasant.
"Piccolo, Gohan, Kale, we're heading out," Goku said, waving to them.
Piccolo nodded.
"Okay, Dad…" Gohan said.
"Good luck, Goku," Kale said.
"Piccolo, that shrimp form of yours is really strong," Goku said with a laugh. "Let's fight sometime too."
Piccolo went silent.
Shrimp form?
That's how you describe it?
Whoosh!
Goku used Instant Transmission and disappeared with Vegeta.
The Supreme Kai was still laughing beside Majin Buu's seal.
Then, while laughing, he noticed that Goku and Vegeta had vanished.
His smile slowly froze.
"Where did Goku and Vegeta go?" the Supreme Kai asked quickly.
"They went to find a place to fight," Piccolo said calmly.
The Supreme Kai had no words.
They left without even saying anything?
Cabba and Caulifla looked in the direction Goku had disappeared and said nothing.
"It's fine, Supreme Kai," Kibito said, trying to reassure him. "At least the situation is under control. Dabura is dead, and Babidi alone can't do much."
"You're right, Kibito." The Supreme Kai let out a small breath.
Then he started walking toward Babidi.
Babidi was panicking badly.
"They left?" Cabba said, stunned.
"Those shameless guys didn't even take us seriously," Caulifla said, her body trembling with frustration.
"It's fine. The situation is under control, and Majin Buu is still sealed," Cabba said with a smile.
"I thought this was going to be interesting," Caulifla said, still irritated. "Then it turned into this."
"At least we killed two of them," Cabba said, trying to cheer her up.
"That does make me feel a little better," Caulifla said with a nod.
"Papparapah! Papparapah! Papparapah!"
Babidi kept chanting in fear, still trying to release Majin Buu.
"Babidi, your plan failed," the Supreme Kai said, laughing. "No matter how many times you chant, it won't work. You need to understand something. I made this seal myself. This is the coldest ice flame in the Realm of the Kais. No spell can break it."
"Aaaaaah!"
Babidi screamed, looking like he was about to fall apart.
All that work… and it ends like this?
"Babidi, you're finished!" the Supreme Kai said, pointing at him as killing intent filled his face. "You're dead."
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! I can't accept this!" Babidi shouted at the sky.
"Maybe Majin Buu froze to death inside the ice flame," the Supreme Kai said, laughing again.
Crack.
Just as the Supreme Kai was laughing at his happiest, a sharp sound came from the ice flame sealing Majin Buu.
It sounded like something had cracked.
The Supreme Kai's smile froze again.
What was that?
Kibito's face went pale beside him.
Babidi's eyes widened, and he clenched his fists in excitement as he stared at the ice flame.
"Buu, it's me, Babidi! Wake up!" Babidi shouted.
"This doesn't feel right," Piccolo said, frowning.
Gohan's expression turned serious too.
Crack.
Another sound came from the ice flame, and visible cracks spread across its surface.
The Supreme Kai's face drained of color.
Kibito started trembling, his expression awful.
"Buu! Wake up already!" Babidi shouted, so excited he looked ready to hug the ice flame.
Pink smoke began rising from the blue ice flame.
The smoke gathered quickly in the air, soon covering half the sky.
Crack!
The blue ice flame split in two, breaking open like two halves of a blue eggshell.
One half of the crystal wobbled on the ground, rolled over, and landed upside down.
The Supreme Kai was terrified. His pupils shrank, and cold sweat ran down his face.
"He's out! My Majin Buu is out! Wahahaha!" Babidi laughed wildly, almost dizzy with joy.
"This is bad," Piccolo said.
Gohan's face grew even heavier.
"Gohan, find a way to contact Goku," Piccolo said quickly.
"Huh? How?" Gohan asked, scratching his head helplessly.
Piccolo went silent.
"You don't have a way to reach your father?"
"No. Dad didn't say where he was going…" Gohan said with an awkward smile.
Piccolo had no words.
This is bad.
Cabba and Caulifla huddled together and whispered.
"Looks like Majin Buu is coming out," Cabba said quietly.
"Then we'll beat him," Caulifla said, not scared at all. "This is our chance to show those Planet Vegeta Saiyans what we can really do."
"It's over! This is a disaster!" the Supreme Kai shouted, staring at the cracked ice flame in disbelief. "How is this happening? I sealed Majin Buu myself!"
"Buu, come out!" Babidi shouted excitedly.
He stepped forward and tried to flip over the crystal half lying upside down on the ground.
The moment Babidi touched it, a brutal chill rushed through his whole body.
He shuddered, his skin turning purple from the cold.
"So cold… so cold…" Babidi's teeth chattered as his body shook harder.
Still, he clenched his teeth and forced himself to flip the crystal over.
"Come out, my Buu!" Babidi shouted.
Everyone turned toward the overturned crystal.
The Supreme Kai's face looked terrible. Sweat beaded on his forehead and rolled down his cheeks.
"Supreme Kai, we should leave!" Kibito said.
Everyone stared at the crystal.
It was empty.
"E-Empty?" Babidi froze, stammering. "That's impossible. That can't be right. How? Why?"
The Supreme Kai's eyes shrank, then the weight on his heart finally lifted.
Kibito let out a long breath of relief.
Piccolo, however, broke into a cold sweat and looked up at the sky.
Gohan and Kale sensed it too and raised their eyes toward the pink smoke gathering above them.
"Hahaha! What luck!" the Supreme Kai burst out laughing again.
"That's wonderful, Supreme Kai!" Kibito was so excited he almost wanted to dance. "That demon must have been dissolved by our ice flame!"
"That's right, Kibito! We finally got rid of him!" the Supreme Kai said, smiling even wider.
"Buu, my Buu, what happened to you?" Babidi cried out, unwilling to accept it.
"Too bad, Babidi! Majin Buu is already dead!" the Supreme Kai shouted, pointing at him. "I sealed him myself, and that ice flame is the coldest thing in the universe. It reaches minus eighty thousand degrees! He froze solid long ago and was completely swallowed by the ice flame!"
"You're lying! Do you think I'm stupid? There's no such temperature! The lowest possible temperature in the universe is minus 273.15 degrees!" Babidi argued.
"Doesn't matter now," the Supreme Kai said with a laugh.
Then he looked up and saw the huge mass of pink smoke taking shape in the sky.
Huh?
Why does this feel familiar?
Wait…
Kibito saw the pink smoke forming too, and his face went pale instantly.
