Chapter 488 - Chapter 488 – The Strongest in the Universe?

In Universe 7, the Heeters' headquarters stood atop a massive asteroid floating through space. A lavish castle dominated its surface, serving as the base of operations for the four blue-skinned siblings who ran the organization: Elec, Gas, Oil, and Macki.

Elec led the group, with the other three working under him. Macki was the only woman among them, and all four wore their hair in braids and dressed with a distinctly fashionable edge.

Rather than conquering worlds themselves, the Heeters specialized in gathering information throughout Universe 7 and selling whatever they learned to anyone willing to pay the right price.

Their involvement with Planet Cereal stretched all the way back to Bardock's era. At the time, the wealthy Sugarians were searching for a new world after problems arose on their own planet.

The Heeters set their sights on Planet Cereal, home of the Cerealians, and passed that information to Frieza in exchange for a considerable payment.

Frieza then ordered the Saiyans to attack Planet Cereal. They devastated the planet and slaughtered nearly the entire Cerealian race, leaving Granolah as the sole survivor.

Bardock had participated in the invasion as well, but when the time came, his conscience got the better of him and he chose to save Granolah and his mother instead.

Bardock later fought Gas, the strongest member of the Heeters, in a desperate battle and managed to defeat him. He also uncovered the Heeters' scheme, but there was little he could actually do about it.

Frieza would never have cared even if Bardock told him the truth, and Bardock himself had never liked Frieza enough to bother reporting it.

Years later, a spacecraft streaked through the darkness toward the Heeters' asteroid, leaving a trail of red light behind it. Granolah's ship soon landed outside the castle, and he stepped out before heading straight for the entrance.

"Stop! You can't go inside right now!" one of the guards shouted.

Granolah ignored him completely and walked into the main hall anyway.

Inside, several dancers were performing to music before Elec and the others. Their graceful movements had clearly been intended as part of a private evening's entertainment, and Granolah's uninvited arrival brought the atmosphere to an abrupt halt.

"So it's you, Granolah." Elec looked down at him coldly from the main seat. "We're in the middle of watching a performance. What do you want?"

"Tell me where Frieza is."

Elec gave an annoyed snort and dismissed the dancers with a gesture. Once they had left the hall, he turned his attention fully toward Granolah.

"We've already been through this. With your current strength, you can't defeat Frieza."

"Yes, I can," Granolah replied. "I've become the strongest in the universe."

"The strongest in the universe?" Macki burst out laughing. "Are you dreaming?"

Oil joined in immediately. "Has wanting revenge finally driven you crazy?"

"Sorry, Granolah, but my schedule's full today." Elec rose from his seat and made it clear the conversation was over. "We're about to have dinner. Come back another time and we'll listen to the rest of your fantasies."

"I'm not dreaming," Granolah insisted. "I really did become the strongest in the universe. Please, just tell me where Frieza is."

"Oil, show him out."

"Yes."

Oil walked toward Granolah with a threatening look and slowly cracked his knuckles. "That's enough, Granolah. You already ruined our evening, so why don't you take a little nap?"

He swung without warning.

In the past, Oil had beaten Granolah like this more than once, and Granolah had never been capable of fighting back. This time, however, Granolah merely tilted aside, let the punch sail past him, and lightly tapped one finger against Oil's stomach.

The impact launched Oil across the hall and straight through the wall behind him, leaving a gaping hole in the stone. He slid down the shattered surface and landed hard on the floor, howling in pain while Elec and Macki stared in disbelief.

"What did you just do?" Macki blurted out.

"I told you. I've gotten stronger."

Elec's expression changed as he studied Granolah more carefully. "Heh. So you weren't completely talking nonsense after all."

"Oil, are you okay?" Macki asked as Gas helped him back onto his feet.

Elec's curiosity had already been awakened. "Oil, keep fighting him."

Oil grimaced but nodded. "Fine."

"Show me what you've got, Granolah," Elec said with an interested smile.

Granolah remained cold and composed. At this point, he understood that they weren't going to believe him until he demonstrated his strength properly.

Fine. I'll show them exactly how strong I've become.

"Go," Elec ordered.

Oil charged with his full weight behind him and brought one massive hand down at Granolah, but Granolah calmly hopped out of the way and kicked him across the face. Oil's features twisted from the impact, yet he recovered quickly enough to swing again.

Granolah slipped past the punch just as easily.

Oil kept after him, hammering the floor again and again with blows powerful enough to leave craters wherever they landed. Granolah avoided every single attack with effortless movements, never once allowing Oil to touch him.

Elec's eyes widened as he watched.

"How is he dodging everything?" Macki asked, the amusement finally gone from her face.

Gas said nothing.

Oil lunged once more, but by then Granolah had already risen into the air. Green light gathered at his fingertip before he fired a narrow beam toward the ground below.

Oil jumped aside, avoiding the shot, but Granolah immediately fired several more. What Oil failed to notice was that each beam had punched another hole into the floor around him.

The moment Oil landed, the damaged ground beneath his feet collapsed. His body dropped straight through the opening before he could react.

Macki stared down at him in disbelief. "At this point, he's just playing with you."

"That's enough, Elec." Granolah turned toward the Heeters' leader with a cold expression. "You people aren't my enemies."
