Chapter 154 - Chapter 154: The Empire's Famous Unlucky Ones

"Should I say it's just like you two?" Luka had the urge to cover his face as he looked at Mai Mai and Twilight in front of him: "Not only did you make a succubus into a demon host, but you even picked up Space Marines? And they're the Weeping Angels?"

Looking at the yellow Space Marines in stasis fields before him, Luka really didn't know what to say.

"We saw them, so we just picked them up," Mai Mai looked a bit embarrassed, but still tried to persuade Luka: "And they're the Weeping Angels, those unlucky guys. Can you bear not to pick them up and save them when you see them?"

"Alright, then why did you put them in stasis fields after picking them up? And why do they look like they're about to kick the bucket?" Luka pointed at the various fatal injuries, big and small, on the yellow Space Marines in the stasis fields and asked the two.

It wasn't that Luka felt strange, but that these yellow Space Marines were truly too tragic. The worst one had half his ribcage torn open, at least half of his two hearts and three lungs exposed, and his intestines hanging down, making one think he was a Nurgle plague pig if they didn't know better.

As for missing arms and legs, almost all of them had such injuries; seven or eight Space Marines couldn't even form one complete one.

Under normal circumstances, these Space Marines would have to go into a Dreadnought sarcophagus.

Looking at the miserable state of these Space Marines, Luka could only shake his head and sigh. Who made them the eternally unlucky Weeping Angels?

This Blood Angels successor Chapter, founded during the Cursed Founding, had been unlucky since its inception, and nothing they encountered ever went smoothly.

To take their most recent example, when Huron rebelled, they jumped in, believing that the High Lords of Terra suppressing the Maelstrom Anarchy was an interference in Astartes internal affairs.

No, brothers? Is this something you can get involved in? Even saying you owed Huron a favor and were going to repay a debt of honor would be better than saying you thought the High Lords were interfering in Astartes internal affairs!

If the Emperor hadn't taken pity on them and given these unlucky sons of Sanguinius a chance for atonement, these unlucky guys would probably have really been killed by the High Lords of Terra.

But even so, they still had to undertake a Penitent Crusade to re-prove themselves.

Although everyone knew that it was a Penitent Crusade with no one supervising it; they could just hide somewhere for a hundred years and claim they were done.

However, these stubborn, unlucky guys actually went on the Crusade! You say they went on the Crusade, fine, but they stubbornly refused to replenish their troops or their logistical supplies, dragging along the three hundred crippled survivors of the Badab War, intending to go on the Crusade just like that.

In the end, even a certain Inquisitor couldn't stand it and forced them to resupply and recruit, and then the Salamanders also left them a batch of supplies, which prevented these unlucky guys from being completely wiped out.

It is said that the Weeping Angels' Chapter banner was destroyed during the Badab War and was later handed over to the Sisters of Battle for repair. The Sisters who repaired the banner sewed it while crying, and the banner was also called the Banner of Tears.

If these unlucky guys were just unlucky, it wouldn't have made Mai Mai and the others sympathize enough to pick them up, nor risk being unlucky and attacked all the way bringing them back.

The biggest reason the Weeping Angels are so endearing is that they truly fight to the death for the innocent.

During the defense against a Black Crusade, the Weeping Angels' status as a Chapter founded during the Cursed Founding once again worked against them, as the Penitent Chapter refused to communicate with them and abandoned them while the Weeping Angels defended Corillia from the Black Legion's assault.

Although the situation changed, the Weeping Angels still chose to stay and defend the populous Imperial World, suffering heavy casualties as a result.

When a relief force composed of Ultramarines and White Scars arrived at the planet to rescue them from danger, only 200 brothers of the Weeping Angels survived.

The Weeping Angels survivors of this battle were soon caught in a Subspace Storm and disappeared without a trace. The entire Chapter was quickly declared lost in the Warp and presumed annihilated.

After their return to the Imperium, they were sent by the High Lords of Terra to hold the Maelstrom, which was a slightly less unlucky period for these unfortunate souls.

M41.698 — The Corinthian Crusade, 300 Space Marines and the Battle Barge Storm Daughter participated in this operation, suffering two-thirds casualties during the liberation of Planet Slaughterhouse 3.

But later, the Badab Tyrant Huron rebelled, and the Weeping Angels, as part of the Maelstrom Guard, were drawn into it. During the war, they were ambushed by the Minotaurs, losing their Chapter Master and Chapter flagship, leaving the entire Chapter with only 300 men.

And when these three hundred men went on their Penitent Crusade, they faced the gaping maw of the Kraken Hive Fleet.

These unlucky guys fought a hopeless battle to defend planets like Malvolion and Devlan from Tyranid invasion, paying a heavy price for it.

The last time they were heard from, they had lost contact in their battle with the Kraken Hive Fleet.

Although the Blood Angels tried many times to find these unlucky guys, it was always in vain, until the Thirteenth Prince launched the Indomitus Crusade, when these unlucky guys were pulled out again and given Primaris transformation.

One can only say that these unlucky guys are truly unlucky.

(The Galaxy's Famous Unlucky Ones)

"How do you plan to deal with these Space Marines? If you put them in Dreadnoughts, you'll have to pay for the machines yourselves." Although Luka sympathized with these Weeping Angels, he didn't intend to put all of them in Dreadnoughts.

Although being put into a Dreadnought allows an Astartes to continue living, it is a form of torment and pain. No Space Marine wishes to be put into a Dreadnought when they fall in battle.

All they want is peaceful slumber, not to live forever in pain.

As for healing them… Of course that's possible, but for such severe injuries, there's only one way to treat them.

And this method, obviously, cannot be publicly disclosed at the current stage.

"Uh, we thought about it, we'll get a Leviathan Dreadnought for the most severely injured one," Mai Mai said, indicating that she planned to get a Dreadnought for one of the Weeping Angels.

Twilight also spoke at this point: "As for the rest whose injuries aren't as severe, we'll try our best to heal them. Once healed, they can be assigned to Gutierrez as Deathwatch, and we'll discuss other matters after Guilliman returns.

Otherwise, if we just let them go, I'm afraid the entire Weeping Angels Chapter might really be wiped out."

"These injuries are difficult to heal; they need to be Primaris," Luka looked at these armless and legless Weeping Angels, shaking his head helplessly: "I'll send them to the Ash Knights. You two go call Mephisto; after all, they're sons of the Angel, he needs to know about this."

"But the Primaris matter…" Mai Mai immediately became worried when Luka mentioned Primaris: "The Thirteenth Prince hasn't returned to the Imperium yet, is it okay to reveal the Primaris technology?"

"Just let 32 handle it, say it's some kind of hidden Adeptus Mechanicus technology," Luka certainly didn't want to reveal the Primaris technology now, but there was no other better way to save these Weeping Angels; their injuries were simply too severe.

At this moment, Twilight suddenly spoke: "Isn't Ovilia, the one next to you, Dora Khaur's student? She should know about the existence of Primaris technology, right? How about we ask her for help?"

"Ovilia? Can she keep a secret?" Luka showed a look of unease.
