"Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass?" Zhu Ziyang smiled and asked, "So it's your turn to stand guard now?"
"Yes," the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass replied excitedly. "Hey, hey! Are you here this time to choose a soul spirit or immortal herb for the girl beside you? What's her martial soul? Do you think I'd suit her?"
"Uh..." Zhu Ziyang was startled by the plant's enthusiasm and found himself speechless for a moment. Only after a brief pause did he reply, "You really don't like staying in the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, do you?"
"Hmph!" the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass snorted.
"Why should I be happy in this garden? Just waiting around for someone to come pluck me?"
"A garden? Heh, that's actually a fitting metaphor." Zhu Ziyang laughed as he thought about what he knew and nodded in agreement. "Unfortunately, Lingyi doesn't have an ice attribute. But she might actually be a perfect match for your neighbor, Infernal Delicate Apricot."
"Are you serious?" Infernal Delicate Apricot suddenly burst out of the spring, her voice filled with excitement.
"Oh, you're awake too?" Zhu Ziyang was caught a little off guard, though more surprised than embarrassed.
"Just woke up!" she didn't care about his reaction at all and eagerly asked, "Is she really compatible with me? Really? Really?"
"Brother Yang, these plants… they can talk? Are they all hundred-thousand-year soul beasts?" Qian Lingyi stood there, face full of shock and disbelief. To her, the only explanation for talking plants was that they had to be hundred-thousand-year-old plant-type soul beasts.
"This place is called the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well—it's a sacred paradise. These are all spirit herbs, and the ones near the springs are immortal herbs," Zhu Ziyang explained.
"What? All of these are immortal herbs?" Qian Lingyi was stunned once again, her lips parted in disbelief.
"Yes. The two in the spring are the ultimate ice-type Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass and the ultimate fire-type Infernal Delicate Apricot. And look, that one's already taken a liking to you—go ahead and show her your martial soul." Zhu Ziyang smiled.
"She likes me? What do you mean?" Qian Lingyi was confused, but still followed his instruction and released her Holy Angel Martial Soul. Six soul rings glowed brightly, clearly showcasing her rare talent.
"A Holy Angel Martial Soul?" Infernal Delicate Apricot sounded surprised, then thrilled. "I can sense a dormant fire attribute in your martial soul, but it hasn't awakened yet. Why is that?"
"Because I still only have two wings. I won't awaken the fire attribute until I reach the Soul Sage level and manifest my second pair of angel wings," Qian Lingyi answered.
"I see…" Infernal Delicate Apricot nodded, then said eagerly, "Would you like me to become your soul spirit? If you do, I can help you grow your second pair of angel wings ahead of time!"
"Soul spirit? What's that?" Qian Lingyi turned to Zhu Ziyang, her expression filled with doubt. Her instincts told her this had something to do with him.
"You can think of it as a special kind of soul ring," Zhu Ziyang said calmly.
"There's no rush—you'll understand once you see it with your own eyes. Just agree to her request. It'll definitely benefit you."
"Oh… alright!" Although still unclear, Qian Lingyi trusted him deeply. She turned to Infernal Delicate Apricot and said, "I'm willing to let you become my soul spirit."
"Really? That's wonderful!" Infernal Delicate Apricot burst into joyful laughter and shouted smugly toward the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass, "Hey Bing'er, looks like your big sister's leaving first! Hahaha!"
"Ahhh!" the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass yelled in frustration.
But Infernal Delicate Apricot didn't care. She called out to Qian Lingyi, "Lingyi, come here!"
Qian Lingyi walked over. Infernal Delicate Apricot swayed her body, producing a ball of golden-red nectar that floated into Qian Lingyi's hands.
She held the warm nectar in a daze, unsure what it meant.
Infernal Delicate Apricot explained, "This is my essence—a top-tier fire attribute sacred medicine. Once you ingest it, your fire attribute should awaken. When you reach your seventh ring, I'll become your soul spirit."
"Oh! Got it!" Qian Lingyi's face flushed red with excitement.
"Lingyi, go ahead and consume the nectar now. I'll stand guard for you," said Zhu Ziyang.
Qian Lingyi nodded happily, sat cross-legged by the yang spring, and drank the nectar in one go. She closed her eyes and entered a meditative state to begin absorption.
Seeing her enter meditation, Zhu Ziyang moved on to his real goal.
"Komako, Rogier, come out," he called.
With a flash, two figures—Paladin Komako and Light Priest Rogier—appeared and knelt on one knee.
"Greetings, my lord!"
"Guard Lingyi while I'm gone," Zhu Ziyang ordered.
"Yes, sir!" they responded in unison.
"Zhu Ziyang, why are you calling people here?" the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass and Infernal Delicate Apricot grew wary, sensing something unusual.
"Relax," Zhu Ziyang smiled. "They're only here to guard Lingyi. They won't harm you—just don't provoke them either."
"Oh, okay." Infernal Delicate Apricot seemed relieved.
"Wait a minute—you said 'stay'? You're leaving?" the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass caught a different implication.
"Not quite. I just have something else to do," Zhu Ziyang said with a smile.
Right then, before the two herbs could respond, he released his second martial soul—the Heavenly Frost Holy Dragon. Five blood-red soul rings lit up, and the dragon scales emerged on his body.
Seeing this, the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass immediately panicked.
Zhu Ziyang leapt straight into the extremely cold spring and began diving deeper.
"What is he doing?!" Infernal Delicate Apricot shrieked.
"Bing'er, stop him!"
"I know! Don't shout!" the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass dove into the spring as well, heart pounding with alarm.
She couldn't believe Zhu Ziyang was aiming for the Ice Dragon King's corpse. That was unthinkable!
As he sank into the icy spring, a wave of extreme cold wrapped around Zhu Ziyang. Any ordinary person wouldn't last even three seconds, but to him, this chill felt no different from the outside world.
Without hesitation, he continued swimming downward, heading for the point where the cold and hot springs met. Electrolux had sensed the Ice Dragon King's bones there.
"Zhu Ziyang, stop!" the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass cried from behind.
He ignored her and swam even faster. Seeing this, she sped up as well.
"Xue'er, stop her," Zhu Ziyang called. "I don't want her interfering."
Snow Empress nodded and turned back to block the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass. The moment she appeared, the herb was stunned—then realized the girl was a soul spirit.
Just as she was about to speak, Snow Empress grabbed her arm and glared coldly. A terrifying pressure erupted from her body.
The Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass began to tremble, fear overtaking her as she looked at the seemingly innocent girl.
Snow Empress smiled sweetly. "Daddy said not to disturb him."
"But…" the herb tried to protest, but a sharp glare silenced her. She could only pray that Zhu Ziyang would realize the danger and stop himself—because if he reached the bottom and disturbed the dragon's remains, it could unravel the very laws that governed the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
Zhu Ziyang, unaware of her thoughts, continued descending. After nearly fifty meters, the temperature around him dropped so drastically that he had to fully unleash his ultimate ice to resist the cold.
