Chapter 285 - Chapter 284: The Death God’s Seventh Trial Requires a Voyage!

After finishing his conversation with Electrolux, Zhu Ziyang began to examine the soul skills granted by his golden god-level soul ring.

He closed his eyes and concentrated. Moments later, he opened them, his face lighting up with joy. As expected of a god-level soul ring, his eighth soul ring granted him three soul skills.

Frost Dragon King's Roar: As one of the three iconic abilities of a true dragon, Zhu Ziyang had finally acquired the last of the Dragon Roar techniques. Gathering the terrifying dragon might and sovereign majesty unique to the Heavenly Frost White Dragon King, he could unleash a heaven-shaking roar. All beings caught within its range would fall into extended dizziness and fear. Weaker ones would die instantly.

Frost Dragon King's Dance: With his body as the Heavenly Frost White Dragon King, Zhu Ziyang would perform a special draconic dance. Any creature with draconic bloodline would be affected by the dance's call. Unless equal in status to the Dragon King, they would be subjected to the punishment of frost—frozen within a thousand-zhang glacier, completely immobilized!

Frost Dragon Starfall: As the Heavenly Frost White Dragon King, Zhu Ziyang would exhale an aura of ultimate ice into the sky, summoning countless starry sky meteoric ice fragments from the void. Within a kilometer, all beings would be bombarded indiscriminately. Those struck—alive or dead—would be afflicted with a slowing frost effect, their souls frozen within three minutes.

Three soul skills: two crowd control, one wide-area offense. An exceptionally balanced set.

Zhu Ziyang, elated, exited the Holy Law Demiplane and returned to his room. Then, he entered the Divine Inheritance Realm to claim the reward for the Sixth Trial of the Death God and accept the Seventh Trial.

Divine Inheritance Realm.

He landed on the 60th step of the Path to Godhood and calmly received the reward for completing the Death God's Sixth Trial. As expected: a 10% increase in divine affinity and two more God-Sealing Pillars. This brought his divine affinity to 70% and his total pillars to 12.

Without hesitation, Zhu Ziyang stepped onto the 70th step of the path and saw the requirements of the Death God's Seventh Trial, etched into the God-Sealing Pillars on both sides.

"Divine Affinity: 70%"

"Death God Seventh Trial: As the inheritor of the Death God, gaining the approval of the Death God's Weapon is a necessary step on your path. Go, young man—seek and subdue the Death God's Weapon!"

"Trial Objective: Find and subdue the Death God's weapon—The Fallen Scythe!"

"Time Limit: No more than five years"

"Reward: Unknown"

"Find and subdue the Death God's weapon?" Zhu Ziyang was stunned. The description seemed simple on the surface, but it was vague and confusing. He had never even heard of this weapon before.

"Xiao Bai, does the The Fallen Scythe have any defining features? How am I supposed to find it—just fly blindly across the continent like a headless chicken?" he asked.

"When it draws near, the Other Shore Flower mark on your forehead will respond," said Xiao Bai.

"Huh?" Zhu Ziyang blinked. "You mean... it's alive? It can move on its own?"

"Mmm, something like that," Xiao Bai replied vaguely after a long pause. "I'll give you one more hint: the The Fallen Scythe is not in the Northern Continent, but in the Eastern Continent."

"Northern Continent? Eastern Continent?" The new terms instantly piqued Zhu Ziyang's attention. He frowned thoughtfully. "Could the 'Northern Continent' be referring to Douluo Continent? Then what's this 'Eastern Continent'? Is there really a landmass east of Douluo?"

"That's all I can say. Figure out the rest yourself," Xiao Bai said before vanishing again.

"You…" Zhu Ziyang was speechless. "Fine. I'll handle it."

Leaving the Divine Inheritance Realm, he immediately summoned Electrolux and his four spirit souls and told them about the Death God's Seventh Trial.

"Eastern Continent?" The term was new even to them. Xue Di said, "There must be other continents beyond Douluo. After all, didn't the Sun Moon Continent fuse with Douluo four thousand years ago?"

"I once heard an old guy say that in ancient times, Douluo was part of a massive supercontinent ten times larger than it is now," Bing Di added. "For some unknown reason, it eventually broke apart into several landmasses. I bet that unknown reason was a cataclysmic split."

"Haha…" Zhu Ziyang gave a helpless chuckle. "Now's not the time for speculation. The real issue is: where exactly is this Eastern Continent? And how do we get there? With Douluo's current sailing tech, no one's even discovered its presence. It must be incredibly far away!"

"Father is right," said Xue Di. "And more importantly, the ocean belongs to the sea spirit beasts. To land-dwelling spirit beasts like us, it's an entirely unknown world! Even the coastal waters once gave rise to a Deep Sea Devil Whale King with nearly a million years of cultivation!"

"Mm-hmm!" Bing Di and Er Shuang both nodded in agreement.

"Sea spirit beasts aren't our biggest concern," Electrolux said. "We still have the Holy Law Demiplane. Even if we can't beat them, we can escape. What matters most is getting the correct location. Zhu Ziyang only has five years, and open-sea navigation is time-consuming. We need intel before we move!"

"Exactly what I was thinking, teacher." Zhu Ziyang nodded. "I plan to visit a few of Douluo's major seaports. That's where the most experienced sailors are. Maybe we'll find clues there."

"Good thinking!" Electrolux clapped. "If I remember correctly, the Sun Moon Empire's naval technology is way ahead of the other three nations. Let's head for their ports!"

"You remembered right, Teacher. The Sun Moon Empire's seafaring tech is miles ahead of the rest." Zhu Ziyang grinned. "In fact, Douluo's current record for farthest voyage—18,000 meters—was set by one of their deep-sea fishing ships."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Electrolux declared.

Zhu Ziyang nodded in agreement.

He stepped out of his room and knocked on Qian Lingyi's door.

"Ah! Brother Yang, you've finished your seclusion?" Qian Lingyi opened the door, beaming with joy. "Did you break through to Soul Douluo?"

"Of course." Zhu Ziyang smiled. "Yiyi, pack your things—we're leaving Winterpole City. We're heading into the Sun Moon Empire."

"Alrighty!" she responded cheerfully.

The two packed their belongings, checked out of their hotel, and departed Winterpole City. This time, it wasn't a leisurely journey. They had a clear goal.

Their destination: Westsea City, the largest port on the western coast of Douluo Continent, under Sun Moon Empire jurisdiction. From Winterpole, they traveled nearly 10,000 li over the course of a month.

Upon arrival, Zhu Ziyang immediately began inquiring for information.

But… after three days of fruitless searching, he realized with a groan that he'd been completely stupid.

"I need info about the Eastern Sea and the Eastern Continent… Why on earth am I looking at the Western Sea?"

Understanding his mistake, he quickly left Westsea City with Qian Lingyi, continuing southward. His new plan: visit Jiang Nannan and Zhang Lexuan, then head north from the Moon South Archipelago toward the Eastern Sea City, the largest port on Douluo's eastern coast, in the Star Luo Empire's territory.
