Upon felling the Spinosaurus and absorbing the rewards of his victory, Matias felt the urge to test his newfound strength. Yet movement at the edge of his vision caught his attention. It was a person. A human.
He turned his gaze and studied her carefully. A human. Pale skin streaked with dirt, clothes torn and clinging after what must have been days of struggle. Her red hair was tangled and matted, framing a face flushed with fear. Wide green eyes locked onto him, filled with both awe and terror, as if she couldn't decide whether to flee or fall to her knees.
Matias stilled, uncertain. It had been three long months since he awoke on this island, and not once had he crossed paths with another of her kind. This was the first.
And he had no idea what to make of her.
Matias studied her in silence, thoughts swirling. She must have been swept here by the currents, stranded the same way he once had. From the look of her—clothes still mostly intact, skin unscarred by the jungle—she couldn't have been on the island for more than a few hours.
What amazed him most was the sheer coincidence of it all. After three months of solitude, she appeared before him at the very moment he had struck down the Spinosaurus, as if fate had led her into his path. In a way, he had saved her life without meaning to.
But now came the problem. What should he do with her? Kill her outright, or let her wander until the island finished the job—keeping his existence hidden, safe from whatever trouble her kind might bring? Or… should he help her survive, even if it meant exposing himself?
Logic told him the first option was best. A clean solution. But he couldn't bring himself to do it. Some stubborn shard of humanity still lingered within him, clinging to its morals. He would never hesitate to kill a threat if needed, yet the thought of ending an innocent life—especially hers—felt wrong.
Matias could only hope his choice wasn't a mistake and that karma would repay him someday. His silent wish was unexpectedly answered when a glowing panel screen appeared before his eyes.

[ Reward: Fire Breath ]
The name made him pause. Claire Dearing? It was the name of one of the protagonists in Jurassic world which was the sequel series of Jurassic park.
'What the hell? What is she doing there?'
Matias confused at the turn event before calming himself down staring at Claire Dearing. She still looked young but knew within a few years would be drop dead gorgeous especially how she looked like actress Bryce Dallas Howard.
He chuckled inwardly remembering how her curves had been nerf in the poster.
Matias then turns his attention to the reward. At first glance, it seemed redundant—after all, he already had Atomic Breath. But the system clarified it was weaker yet more efficient, burning less fuel and causing less destruction.
And more importantly, it meant he could provide Claire with a steady source of heat—something vital for her survival.
Once Matias resolved to help Claire, he faced a problem—how to communicate with her. He lacked the vocal range of a human, and unless another person appeared, speaking was impossible. Writing was an option, but his massive claws made it impractical, and he wasn't willing to reveal his Psychokinesis.
That left only gestures. To his relief, they worked well enough to get his message across.
With care, Matias scooped Claire into his grasp. His massive wings unfurled, blotting out the light for a moment before he began to beat them powerfully. Carrying both Claire and the Spinosaurus carcass, he rose into the sky, heading toward her nest.
Meanwhile, Claire struggled at first with the sensation of being carried. Fear gripped her as the ground fell away, and the rush of wind made her certain she would slip from his grasp. But as the flight steadied, awe replaced fear. From above, the island stretched out in breathtaking beauty, a view she never imagined seeing.
Matias kept his altitude low enough to ease her nerves, his wingbeats measured and controlled. He moved with surprising grace—majestic, almost regal—despite his dark and fearsome appearance. Even the nearby Pteranodons kept their distance, veering off the moment Matias's killing intent brushed over them, an unspoken warning to stay away.
Claire's fear slowly gave way to wonder as she took in the breathtaking view—the emerald canopy stretching endlessly, rivers glinting like silver threads, and distant mountains veiled in mist. It was as though she had been lifted into another world. For the first time since arriving, she felt a strange sense of peace.
Her gaze drifted upward, to the dragon carrying her with such effortless power. His massive wings beat with steady rhythm, each motion radiating strength and control. Claire's chest tightened, not from fear this time, but from awe. What kind of creature was he? What thoughts lingered behind those fierce eyes when he chose to save her instead of leaving her to die?
Was there meaning in it? A hidden reason? Or was it mercy, rare and fleeting?
She couldn't know. Yet as the sunlight caught against his scales, shimmering faintly despite their dark, menacing hue, Claire felt relief wash over her. Whatever this being was, he wasn't a mindless monster.
Eventually, Matias descended toward the nest, his wings folding in as the ground drew near. Claire's heart pounded when she spotted two dinosaurs below—juveniles, their cries sharp and eager as they called out to him. A chill ran down her spine. Was this it? Had he saved her only to feed her to his young?
But the sight that followed caught her off guard. The two hatchlings—Ace and Speckles—were anything but threatening. They bounced on their hind legs, tails swishing wildly as they scrambled to reach Matias first. Their playful jostling quickly turned into a game of pushing and shoving, one trying to nip at the other while squeaking out calls of excitement.
Matias let out a low growl, more parental than threatening, and the two froze mid-scuffle, staring up guiltily before chirping again in unison. With a heavy thud, he dropped the Spinosaurus carcass onto the ground, the smell of blood quickly capturing their attention. Only then did he lower Claire, setting her gently onto her feet.
Claire tensed as Ace and Speckles bounded up to her, their curious snouts sniffing at her clothes and hair. Her breath hitched, every instinct screaming that they might bite—but before panic could take over, Matias released a low, commanding growl. The sound was sharp, carrying authority. It told them clearly: She is not food. She is part of our pack.
The hatchlings froze for a heartbeat, then let out excited, high-pitched cries that made Claire flinch. Startled, she glanced toward Matias, silently begging for reassurance. He met her gaze and gave a slow, deliberate nod.
Swallowing hard, Claire forced herself to stay still as Ace pressed his scaled body against her leg, while Speckles nudged her side with a playful chirp. Their warmth seeped through her clothes, and her trembling hand rose almost on its own—brushing against smooth scales. She shuddered, not from fear this time, but from awe. She was touching a living dinosaur. A creature that had been extinct for millions of years…
For a moment, she forgot to breathe.
Matias rumbled softly, pleased by the sight, before shifting his gaze toward the Spinosaurus carcass. A deeper growl followed, this one firm—a command.
At once, Ace and Speckles abandoned Claire, racing toward the kill with youthful eagerness, their cries echoing through the nest. Claire stood frozen, her hand still tingling where scales had brushed against her skin, her mind struggling to comprehend the impossible.
Claire watched quietly as Matias lowered his massive head, his glowing eyes meeting hers. With slow, deliberate gestures, he tried to communicate—telling her to stay put, to wait here. Then he turned toward Ace and Speckles, issuing a rumbling growl that carried clear intent: protect her.
The two juveniles chirped in reply, their tails swishing like excited pups, before scampering back to the Spinosaurus carcass. Claire couldn't help but blink in surprise at how… cute they were. Ace tugged on a slab of meat, growling as if it were the toughest battle of his life, only for Speckles to sneak in and steal a piece from under him. Ace snapped indignantly, but instead of fighting, the two tumbled together, rolling playfully before resuming their feast side by side.
A small laugh slipped past Claire's lips, tension easing from her shoulders.
'Dinosaurs… playing and eating like messy little kids?'
It was such a surreal sight that her earlier fear seemed to melt away.
Her eyes drifted back to Matias as he spread his wings, preparing to take off. She wondered where he was going, and why—but one thing was certain: he intended for her to be safe while he was gone.
