Chapter 110: SEED — Another Naval Battle 1

In the end Kira piloted the Strike Gundam onto the deck and brought the damaged reconnaissance-type Ginn back into the Archangel's hangar.

Tolle had just stepped out of the cockpit and walked over to Murdoch, putting on a weak, very disappointed and helpless expression as he said, "Uncle Murdoch, this reconnaissance-type Ginn isn't worth repairing — it's too badly damaged. If there's time, just strip it for parts. Also, please convert the Moebius Zero into a general-purpose MS backpack as soon as possible; I can't fight on the sea without it."

Murdoch looked at the dejected Tolle and slapped him hard on the back.

"You brat — it was only shot down. So what if this Ginn's wrecked? As long as you're alright, that's what matters. Don't worry about the Moebius Zero conversion. We'll finish it as fast as we can — after all, we're counting on you and Kira to protect the Archangel."

Tolle immediately put on a painful face, then thanked him, "Uncle Murdoch, could you be a bit gentler? You're about to beat me to pieces, but thanks anyway."

He thought to himself, Plan working — Murdoch the hard worker is back online. My wire-guided Ginn will be operational soon, hahaha!

Just then Kira came over, concerned that Tolle might be hurt or feeling unwell. "Tolle, are you okay? Did you get injured?"

Tolle did a few bodybuilder poses and answered Kira, "See? I'm fine. Completely fine. Kira, thanks for your concern."

Kira breathed easier when he heard Tolle was fine and could still do those embarrassing poses.

Mu also gathered around and joked with Tolle, "Hahaha, kid, you've got quite the luck — you survived. But thanks for earlier; if you hadn't helped me out, your Ginn might not have ended up like this."

Tolle was a little proud to hear Mu's thanks and deliberately imitated one of Mu's classic lines, "Of course — I'm a man who can make the impossible possible!"

"Sigh~ kid, you're ripping off my line. Just adding a 'also' won't cut it."

"Hee hee hee, you noticed. I just admire you — you're my 'idol'."

"Alright, kid, you're getting slicker and slicker. I'm not talking to you anymore — I've got important business with Captain Murrue."

After saying that to Tolle, Mu turned to Murdoch. "Sergeant Murdoch, please finish the MS repairs quickly, especially the Strike Gundam's equipment. The sea isn't safe right now — who knows when another battle will break out. And hurry up with converting my Moebius Zero too, or this brat might get shot down again."

Then he left the Archangel's hangar to look for Captain Murrue.

Tolle muttered quietly, "Mu, are you cursing me? Saying I'll get shot down again is really not cool."

Murdoch looked at Tolle's muttering with exasperation, grabbed his collar, and dragged him in the direction of the Moebius Zero.

"You brat, this time you got your wish — Mu's on board with converting his Moebius Zero for you. Heh heh heh, but don't think you can escape. We're working together."

Tolle replied from the heart, "Uncle Murdoch, let go first — I absolutely won't run. Don't worry."

But Murdoch didn't relax and kept dragging him along.

Tolle thought to himself helplessly, If I didn't need to hide my identity, would I still be stuck with you as a worker? Sigh, life's hard — I wonder when I'll be able to rise up. Do I really have to fake my death before I can go all out?

In the Archangel's corridor Mu found Murrue and they discussed the recent battle.

"Captain Murrue, I don't think that fight was simple. There must be a ZAFT submarine carrier nearby. We need to prepare."

Murrue was surprised and incredulous. "What did you say — a submarine carrier?"

Mu waved his hands and explained, "There's no way they went straight from another place to here, right? And we've been constantly moving. Even if they barely finished a fight, they couldn't get back. If they were on the surface or in the air, we would have detected them. Underwater, though, they're unfamiliar to us. If they launch another surprise attack, we have to find a way to deal with it, or they'll keep coming after us."

Murrue listened to Mu and began to feel anxious. She asked, "You're saying that, but…"

Mu copied Murdoch's move, giving Murrue a moderately strong pat on the back as he tried to comfort her. "Come on, come on — there's always a way. Let's try to stay in shallower waters. Haven't we always managed to get through things so far?"

Murrue nearly lost her footing from Mu's way of comforting her. She first looked annoyed, then resigned, and spoke without a pleasant tone, "Don't say things without any basis."

Seeing Murrue displeased, Mu felt his encouragement was ineffective and switched tactics. He lightly tapped her forehead with his finger and said, "Uh, well, isn't mutual encouragement supposed to be like this?"

Murrue watched Mu walk away sheepishly. Feeling both annoyed and amused at the clumsy Mu, she said softly, "You don't comfort women like this — you're really hopeless. You'll never find a girlfriend like this."

Kira had just returned to his quarters and saw Flay lying on the bed, listless and weak. He asked with concern, "Flay, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Flay tried to sit up to talk to Kira, but he stopped her. She closed her eyes and lay back down, saying to Kira, "Mmm, Kira, I feel awful. That battle was too intense — the Archangel shook and I'm a bit seasick. It's nothing; I'll rest a while and be fine."

Kira gently stroked Flay's forehead and said softly, "Flay, rest for a bit — don't get up. I'll get a towel and warm it for you; it might help."

Kira took a towel from the cupboard, turned on the tap in the bathroom to wet it with warm water, and applied it to Flay. Flay immediately felt better and held Kira's hand, thanking him, "Much better, thank you, Kira. It's so good to have you by my side. Why don't you lie down next to me and hold me tight?"

Without hesitation, Kira lay down beside Flay and held her tightly.
