Chapter 337: The Destruction of Panama (3)

Just as Creuset arrived at the hangar of the submersible aircraft carrier, a soldier beside him suddenly spoke to him, "Captain Creuset, the commander wants you to go to the bridge. He says there's a new development."

Creuset nodded and replied, "Understood. I'll head back right away."

After returning to the bridge, the commander said to Creuset, "The Earth Alliance has also dispatched MS units. They are now deploying directly on the front line against the Forster Team."

Creuset said with a sinister grin, "Oh? This is a rare opportunity. Let those inexperienced Earth Alliance MS pilots all become sacrifices to Odin's Thunder."

At that moment, Odin's Thunder also descended upon the Panama base. The ZAFT soldiers responsible for activating these devices had already been waiting for a long time.

They quickly stepped forward, entered the passwords, and carried out the final installation steps on Odin's Thunder.

Before Tolle transmigrated, he had always wanted to complain that the designer of this weapon must have been out of their mind. With technology at this level, making it fully automatic wouldn't have been difficult at all, yet it still required MS units to manually install it and input passwords.

If you said it was for safety and anti-theft purposes, then what kind of safety was even needed for a weapon like this? Once it landed, it could just activate immediately.

And what anti-theft was this supposed to be? This thing required MS units to install and activate it throughout the entire process. If you didn't seize the landing point, it was basically delivering it straight to the enemy's doorstep.

Sure enough, before long, one of the target sites where Odin's Thunder had landed was captured by the Strike Dagger.

However, fortunately, the ZAFT forces had already completed all the installation and activation steps for the device beforehand, and it was successfully activated just one second before being destroyed by the Strike Dagger.

In an instant, it generated a massive electromagnetic pulse (EMP), completely destroying all Earth Alliance electronic equipment within the affected area.

This type of electromagnetic pulse weapon, while posing no lethal threat to the human body, had tremendous destructive power against electronic devices that lacked special protection.

ZAFT's MS units had all been fitted in advance with special shielding protection, so they were completely unaffected by the electromagnetic pulse.

But all the electronic circuits of the Earth Alliance's facilities were destroyed by the EMP. Their MS units, tanks, fighter jets, defensive installations, and so on all shut down and became paralyzed in an instant.

Even the Earth Alliance's mass drivers were affected, because they were manufactured using superconducting metal materials.

Under the influence of the powerful electromagnetic pulse, those metal materials all became magnetized. The metals constantly attracted and repelled one another, continuously causing distortion and damage, and in the end everything was reduced to a pile of ruins.

The ZAFT soldiers on the battlefield looked at the Strike Daggers that stood motionless like puppets.

After pushing those MS units over, they burst into wild laughter, attacking as they shouted, "Hahaha! So this day finally came! You damned Naturals—go die, all of you!"

After a barrage of machine-gun fire, scenes of Strike Daggers being destroyed and exploding were everywhere.

The surviving Earth Alliance soldiers climbed out of their MS units, tanks, and defensive facilities, preparing to raise their hands and surrender.

"We're going to avenge our comrades and friends who died in Alaska! We don't need Naturals as prisoners! You Naturals—every single one of you, go die!" The ZAFT soldiers roared in fury as they mercilessly slaughtered all of the surrendering Earth Alliance soldiers.

In an instant, the battlefield at Panama was filled with the smoke of gunfire and ruthless massacre.

Yzak had also flown to a distant spot. Watching the actions of these crazed soldiers, he said with a mix of disdain and reluctance, "Tch. What's the point of fighting a bunch of targets that can't even move?"

At this moment, Shiho, piloting the Thermal Energy Beam Test-Type Zaku, came over to Yzak's side and said, "Captain Joule, the battle is finally over. Our hatred has finally been avenged."

When Yzak heard that their vengeance had been carried out, he misunderstood Shiho, thinking that she also intended to slaughter Earth Alliance soldiers who were completely defenseless.

He sneered and said, "Tch, Shiho, you're not planning to be like those lunatics too, are you—attacking targets that can't even move?"

Being compared to those lunatics made Shiho visibly displeased. She said with an unhappy expression, "Captain Joule, what are you talking about? I have no interest in dealing with those surrendering Earth Alliance soldiers. Even though I want revenge, I can't do something like a massacre."

Yzak also sensed Shiho's anger, but he was the kind of proud person who would never apologize. He said to her, "Hmph. Do whatever you want. I'm heading back."

With that, he piloted the Assault Shroud Duel Gundam and flew off toward the submersible aircraft carrier.

Left behind, Shiho puffed out her cheeks angrily and said, "Captain Joule is really awful, comparing me to those lunatics.

It's not like I don't know that there are good people in the Earth Alliance too—like that blue unit that saved me last time.

Sigh… I really hope I won't run into the person who saved me again on the battlefield in the future."

As she spoke, influenced by the neo DG cells, Shiho blushed as she recalled Tolle's appearance and voice.

After the battle ended, on the bridge of the Archangel, Murrue and Mu also received a report from Takaaki. "Latest news: the Panama base has been destroyed by ZAFT."

Murrue asked in disbelief, "So fast? That's impossible. The main forces of the Earth Alliance were all stationed at the Panama base, weren't they?"

Mu, standing beside her, also asked nervously, "Yeah, that's unbelievable. The war's only just started—hasn't even been a few hours yet.

Besides, ZAFT lost more than seventy percent of their forces. How did they manage that? Did they use weapons of mass destruction?"

Takaaki shook his head and denied it. "It can't really be considered a weapon of mass destruction—at least, it's harmless to the human body.

It was a large-scale, high-powered electromagnetic pulse. It completely crippled all of the Earth Alliance's electronic equipment, including their new-model MS units."

"What? New-model MS units?" Upon hearing this news, both Murrue and Mu were greatly shocked.

Tolle deliberately put on an extremely angry expression and mocked the Earth Alliance, saying, "No wonder the Earth Alliance higher-ups have always looked down on the Archangel and treated it as bait to draw in ZAFT.

Turns out they'd already had detailed MS data for a long time and had even started mass production. What a bunch of shameless bastards."

After Tolle said this, Murrue and Mu fell into even deeper silence.

Tolle could only continue pressing the issue on his own, saying, "Sister Murrue, Uncle Mu, it looks like your decision to lead everyone away from the Earth Alliance was the right one.

If you went back, you'd definitely be executed. After all, they have absolutely no need for the Archangel anymore."
