Chapter 404: Visiting Angel
Tolle didn't know whether his future self had managed to save Ruido and Marene, but judging from Sherilyn's face, the chances were probably low.
Beside them, Wang Liu Mei watched the intimate interaction between the two, her eyes twitching slightly. She asked in surprise, "Um… do you two know each other?"
Before Tolle could answer, Sherilyn spoke first. "Yes, we've known each other for a long time. I stayed at Dax's house for a while before and received some treatment there."
"Treatment?" Wang Liu Mei asked suspiciously. "Could it be that Dax's father was also…?"
"Yes. He was also a sponsor of the organization and an expert in nanomedical treatment. The therapy for my cellular regeneration disorder was conducted by him."
"I see… No wonder he was selected so easily."
Although Tolle knew exactly what they were implying, he pretended to be clueless. "Sister Sherilyn, Liu Mei, what are you talking about? I don't understand."
Sherilyn and Wang Liu Mei exchanged a glance. Then Sherilyn proudly explained, "We, along with your father, have been serving a private armed organization called Celestial Being.
This organization was secretly founded by the late 21st-century scientist Aeolia Schenberg.
For over 200 years, Celestial Being has been developing in secret.
It possesses powerful technological and economic strength, mobile suits that surpass all existing military weapons, and an extensive intelligence network that reaches everywhere.
The purpose of Celestial Being is to eradicate all conflict in the world. It secretly intervenes with armed force in disputes between nations, ethnic groups, and religions, forcibly stopping their wars."
Tolle pretended to be astonished. "Mobile suits that surpass all existing military weapons? Is this organization really reliable?"
"Of course it is. The Wang family is also one of its sponsors," Wang Liu Mei replied with a look of disdain, then proudly added, "I, Wang Liu Mei, am one of its main agents and senior operatives.
The main reason we came today is to act as your recommender and invite you to join the organization."
"This isn't some kind of scam, is it?" Tolle looked at Wang Liu Mei as if concerned for her sanity, then turned to Sherilyn with a helpless, pleading gaze.
Seeing his earnest expression, Sherilyn blushed slightly and replied, "Don't worry, Dax. I used to be a mobile suit pilot for the organization, and now I'm the head of its support group.
It's not fake. And if you're unwilling to join, that's fine too—as long as you don't expose our existence."
"Alright. I'll join." Tolle looked at Sherilyn with a resolute expression.
Wang Liu Mei, who had been feeling smug moments before, was suddenly caught off guard. She hadn't expected him to agree so readily; she had thought it would take a great deal of persuasion.
With a proud expression, she said, "Since you're willing to join, we officially invite you to become a mobile suit pilot and MS design engineer in the support group—Angel."
"Not Celestial Being? Why Angel instead?" Tolle feigned confusion.
Afraid he might change his mind, Sherilyn quickly explained, "According to VEDA's instructions, you were originally to be invited directly onto the Ptolemaios as a reserve pilot for Celestial Being.
However, they're still in space conducting final adjustments and can't come into contact with you for the time being.
Moreover, they already have one reserve pilot, so… in the end, it was decided that you would first serve as an official pilot in the Angel organization.
But I'm the head of Angel, so don't worry—there won't be any problems."
"VEDA? Is that the leader of the organization?" Tolle continued pretending to be ignorant.
Wang Liu Mei explained with a hint of disdain, "VEDA is a super quantum computer. Celestial Being acts according to its judgments.
That's far safer and more reliable than letting someone with personal emotions or grudges take command."
Tolle really wanted to retort that even a supercomputer could be altered—after all, he had just modified it and taken control himself. What could they possibly do about it?
But he decided against it. It would be more exciting to let them be shocked later, once they realized they were all dancing in the palm of his hand.
"Oh… I see."
"Dax, would you like to visit Angel's base with us now?" Sherilyn asked gently.
Wang Liu Mei immediately grew anxious. "Shouldn't we continue investigating him? Why are we taking him straight to Angel's base? There are a lot of important secrets there. What if—"
"Ahem." Sherilyn coughed lightly, cutting her off. "This is VEDA's instruction. It won't be wrong. And I trust Dax. He would never betray us."
Tolle nodded vigorously in agreement. "Sister Sherilyn understands me best. Do I look like that kind of person? I'm very tight-lipped. I'd never betray you.
One is my cutest fiancée, and the other is the sister I cherish most. How could I possibly betray you?"
Flustered by his words, both Wang Liu Mei and Sherilyn blushed and turned their heads away.
After a few seconds, Wang Liu Mei recovered and said, "At least you know your place. Then let's depart now."
The four of them left the hotel together and got into the car driven by Hong Long, heading toward Angel's secret base.
As usual, Tolle sat in the middle of the back seat, holding one hand of Wang Liu Mei and one of Sherilyn, feeling the warmth of their soft hands.
After transferring several times by private aircraft, they finally arrived at Angel's secret base.
Sherilyn first led them to tour four Gundams: Gundam Astraea, Gundam Sadalsuud Type F, Gundam Abulhool Type F, and Gundam Plutone.
With a proud expression, she said, "These four Gundams are the mobile suits equipped by Angel—machines that surpass all existing military weapons."
Tolle pretended to be astonished. "Just from their appearance alone, these mobile suits are clearly extraordinary. I wonder what their actual performance is like. What kind of power system do they use?"
"They all utilize the most advanced gravity engine—GN Solar Furnaces—as their power source…"
After Sherilyn's detailed introduction to the Solar Furnace, Tolle continued to feign shock. "That truly does surpass all existing military weapons. The gravity engine alone is already a revolutionary creation."
