Chapter 24 - potential ally

Moments later, Arthur entered, calm as ever.

Julius looked at him, not as a servant, but as a potential ally."Do you want to be my personal assistant?" he asked."To walk beside me toward greatness instead of tending the flowers?"

Arthur blinked.

"Why me?"

Julius said:

"Because you're strong. And dedicated to your work."

Arthur nodded slowly.

"Yes... I am dedicated—to my work. So I wouldn't change it Sorry."

Julius let out a dry laugh.

"You simple people... without ambition. You let opportunity slip like dust through your hands."

"The wrong ambition could lead to your downfall," Arthur replied calmly,Then he added,

"I have just one request. I'd like to tend the flowers inside the palace, But the guards won't allow it."

Julius waved his hand:

"No problem, you can do it."

Arthur bowed slightly and left the room as silently as he had entered.

Julius said nothing.

But for the first time in weeks...He felt the presence of a truly loyal person.

For only two days, Arthur had wandered the palace, back and forth, as if something was calling him from beyond the walls.

Every passage was familiar—except one.

A strange door, guarded by four motionless faces, A door with no name, no markings, only silence enveloping it like a wall of secrets.

On the morning of the third day, Arthur made his decision,He approached the door, stared at the four guardthen moved quickly.

With precise, confident blows, he took them down one by one.

He never killed—he only struck with his bare hands.

But despite his victory, the door did not open.

Suddenly, a key fell at his feet, as if thrown from the shadows.

He looked up to see who had thrown it, but there was no one there.

Without thinking twice, he took the key... and opened the door.

Inside, he found a dark room illuminated by the glow of six magic stones.

Each stone symbolized a piece of a chess game: the king, queen, rook, knight, bishop, and pawn.

He felt like fate, embodied in symbols.

But he had no time for reflection.

He heard footsteps approaching—it was the witch.

In a sudden rush, he smashed four stones: the pawn, the knight, the rook, and the queen.
