Chapter 147 - Chapter 146: Driving the Ancient Winter Coffin and the Spear of Eternity

The Asgardian fighting style is all about throwing and spinning with brute force. They don't seem to care much about finely-controlled attacks and power.

When faced with an attack, they'll dodge if they can, or simply tank the hit if they can't. As for attacking, it's just a matter of one hammer. If one isn't enough to kill, they'll just use two.

However, this fighting style is full of flaws for a Saint Seiya who has already awakened the Seventh Sense. After repeated painful lessons, Thor and Loki are working on improving themselves and eliminating their weaknesses in battle.

Otherwise, Thor wouldn't have been able to show off the fighting skills and attention to detail that surprised even Hela.

These improvements are visible to the naked eye, but when Thor saw Hela's subtle and evasive dodging style, he felt that his own improvements were still not enough.

The same was true for Loki. Don't think that magic doesn't require fine control; a powerful magician can use not just one spell at a time, but multiple spells at once. This is actually a form of fine power control.

Loki saw that his magic was having no effect on Hela, and that she seemed to be dodging every attack. He frowned, gritted his teeth, and reached out a hand toward her.

Just behind Hela, a dark purple crack appeared in space, and a gigantic, terrifying claw emerged, grabbing at Hela. Hela felt the tremendous power and destructive force contained within the claw. A smile curved her lips, and her figure vanished.

The huge claw closed on empty air. Hela reappeared next to Loki and grabbed him by the neck. Loki's eyes widened slightly, but he didn't panic.

His gaze was a gray-blue, and a terrifying cold air suddenly erupted from his body. Hela said "huh" as if surprised by the cold air. She didn't resist it, but instead turned into a flash of light and disappeared once more.

The next second, a layer of phosphorescent fire ignited a few hundred meters away, blocking the terrible cold air that was sweeping in. Hela looked on in surprise as the world was turned into winter. Even her castle was frozen by the cold air.

"Haha, you've learned, little one," Hela said. The familiar feeling of the cold air made Hela immediately understand why Loki could manipulate it.

This cold air is not Asgardian power; it comes from Loki's own bloodline and from a powerful artifact stored in Odin's treasury, the Casket of Ancient Winters.

Hela knew this item because it came from another powerful race, the Frost Giants of Jotunheim, and was the supreme artifact of their king, Laufey.

The Casket of Ancient Winters was the reason Asgard dared to start a war with them in the first place, as Laufey was once powerful enough to rival Odin.

Hela herself participated in that war. Odin brought his troops and her to Jotunheim, beat up the Frost Giants, and then forced them to sign a peace treaty.

He also took the Casket of Ancient Winters with them. As the treasure of the Frost Giants, the Casket can only be used by those with Frost Giant blood to exert its full power. If used properly, it can quickly freeze a planet, annihilating all life under its terrifying cold.

This artifact originally had a strange status. No one in Asgard could use it, even though it held almost infinite energy.

So it was simply thrown into Odin's treasury as a trophy and collection. Hela was surprised that Loki had taken it out and seemed to have found a way to use it. By using its connection to the Frost Giant bloodline, he could rapidly grow while using the freezing air without revealing the Casket itself.

Being able to use this item meant that Loki already knew about his heritage. The Loki of three years ago would never have taken the Casket out of Odin's treasury.

Because he had always believed himself to be an Asgardian, and was even proud of Asgard, using the Casket of Ancient Winters could easily expose his true identity, and he would likely be rejected. In Hela's mind, Loki would have never used this item, even if it cost him his life.

"It seems you have accepted your identity," Hela said. "

The way you did that just now... you used magic to connect to the Casket, so you can control its power anytime, anywhere? It's a very smart move."

Hela nodded in appreciation. In the past, she might have mercilessly mocked Loki, but now she knows that all blood and identity are fake, and only power is supreme.

Giving up the opportunity to make oneself stronger for the sake of a so-called identity is not pride or glory, but rather inferiority and stupidity.

What amazed Hela even more was that Loki's control over the Casket was even smarter than that of Laufey, the king of the Frost Giants.

A whistling cold wind blew, and everything was condensed into frost. Lightning flashed, and with a roar, a bolt of lightning broke through the wind and snow and shot toward Hela.

It was so fast that it reached her in an instant. A fist wrapped in infinite lightning slammed down.

Hela's previous passiveness didn't mean she was truly passive. It was more like a teacher checking and grading a student's paper. Now that her students' answers were basically satisfactory, she could continue to have fun torturing them.

Boom!

A slender finger pointed at Thor's fist, and terrifying lightning and air waves raged. The ground under them suddenly cracked, and dense fissures spread like a spiderweb.

"Good power," Hela said, "but not enough."

In the turbulent air waves, Hela stood still, one hand casually in her coat pocket. The ground cracked around her, but if you looked closely, you would find that the ground directly under her feet showed no signs of being damaged at all.

Faced with Hela's half-smiling expression, Thor's face remained impassive. It was no surprise that his punch was blocked. He suddenly exerted force beyond his limit, but still couldn't budge Hela. Her strength increased along with his; it was impossible to break through her with brute force alone.

Thor knew this was impossible, so the punch was just a cover. The moment the power burst out and Hela's strength increased, he retracted his power and allowed the force from Hela's index finger to propel him backward.

With this momentum, he flew backward quickly. However, after flying less than 20 meters, Thor rotated his body, clenched his fist, and smashed the air behind him. The explosive force created a ripple in the air.

Using this recoil, his body was forced to stop. Not only that, but the electric light wrapped around his body dissipated, or rather, it was condensed inside him.

With the lightning now converged inside, Thor's presence became more powerful and dangerous. A faint blue electric light could even be seen flowing through the blood vessels on his neck.

Bang!

Thor's feet exploded off the ground, and he shot out with such speed that Hela didn't even react. Or rather, Thor's speed exceeded her preset threshold, which led to a wrong judgment.

When she finally reacted, Thor's fist was just a few centimeters from her face. Luckily, Hela was a Saint of the Seventh Sense, and at the level of a Heavenly Father.

Her speed and reflexes were far superior to Thor's. Thor thought he had hit her, but suddenly found that Hela's body had tilted backward at a small angle. His fist just grazed her skin.

But Thor's attack was far from over. As his fist brushed past her cheek, Hela thought she had dodged the attack, but her cheek was suddenly hit hard.

Her entire body was thrown backward like a cannonball. Boom! Boom! Boom! She broke countless twisted trees along the way, shooting tens of thousands of kilometers before landing in a small stream, splashing water and dirt everywhere.

With a flash of golden light, Hela's figure suddenly broke through the smoke and landed on the ground, looking at Thor, who was smashed into a pile of rubble at the end of the long path in front of her. She reached up and wiped her uninjured cheek.

She looked at the lingering flash of lightning on her fingertips and casually crushed it. Boom! Before she could say anything, the ground under her feet surged violently.

The dirt, water, trees, jungle, and everything else seemed to come alive, forcibly squeezed together by some force, turning into a gigantic, terrifying palm that pressed down on Hela.

Hela extended her palm and waved it violently, and a terrifying gale suddenly rolled up. The gale was like a torrent that destroyed everything, blowing away the massive mud and gravel that was pressing down from the sky. Dust filled the air, blocking her view.

A swift figure with an explosive presence burst through the dust and charged forward. Thor's eyes flashed with a monstrous fighting spirit. He had completely turned himself into a human weapon, using every joint—his fists, elbows, legs, knees, etc.—to the extreme, and attacked Hela relentlessly.

Under the intensive, tide-like assault, Hela actually felt a bit of pressure and had to use both hands to defend or counterattack. However, she didn't have many opportunities to counterattack because Thor's frenzied assault didn't give her much room.

Loki wasn't just standing by. As one of the future kings favored by Odin, his magical ability was excellent. Over the past three years, he had learned countless types of magic, including complex white and black magic, illusion magic, and soul magic.

In addition, he could also harness the power of the Casket of Ancient Winters and use ice magic.

He used these spells effectively, with Thor as the main attacker and himself as support. The two brothers had an amazing understanding and worked together seamlessly, which put Hela at a disadvantage for a while

. Boom! Boom! Boom!

The intensity of the battle caused the battlefield to shift. Deep craters were created one after another within millions of kilometers of the castle, completely changing the terrain. Fortunately, the castle was protected by a magical barrier, so it stood tall through the battle.

The massive noise did not spread to the rest of Hellheim. This was because Hela had completely locked down the battlefield area.

No matter how fierce the fight was or how large the aftermath, it wouldn't affect other places. After all, Hellheim is her base and one of the sources of her current power; she couldn't allow these two little guys to destroy her foundation.

The battle appeared to be very fierce, but in reality, both Thor and Loki found that no matter how dense their attacks were or how closely they cooperated, they couldn't overwhelm Hela. All their attacks, whether magic, lightning, or Thor's physical strikes, were directly countered by Hela. It was like a wave hitting an unmoving reef. As time went on, a feeling of powerlessness began to grow in their hearts.

Fortunately, the Thor brothers had experienced more despair and powerlessness over the past three years, so they were basically numb to it. They dedicated themselves to the battle, feeling its rhythm and sharpening themselves in the process.

The battle lasted for an unknown amount of time. Hela seemed to have grown tired of playing. During one of Thor's frenzied attacks, she found an opening. Following the flaw, she pointed a finger at Thor's chest. Reflected in Thor's eyes, a dazzling golden light exploded between his chest and her fingertip.

Boom! Thor suddenly spit out a large mouthful of blood, his body spinning wildly as he sprayed blood. He finally crashed into the ground in front of the castle, creating a huge crater.

His body seemed to be falling apart, and he couldn't move at all. Hela's sudden attack increased the intensity. Loki reacted immediately and roared.

He slammed the Eternal Spear Gungnir in his hand into the ground.

He saw a magic circle appear out of thin air under Hela's feet, and a terrifying freezing air was ejected from it.

However, the freezing air couldn't keep up with Hela's speed. She ignored the freezing air spreading behind her and rushed toward Loki.

Loki, seeing Hela's fierce and murderous approach, completely ignored Thor. He sprouted a pair of magical wings behind him and flew toward the sky in a different direction.

However, Hela didn't care about Loki at all and rushed straight toward Thor.

As she moved, she suddenly swung her hand, and a dull sound echoed in the air in front of her.

Then Loki's figure appeared, lying in the same large crater as Thor, spraying blood, and looking completely bewildered. He couldn't understand why his illusion magic couldn't hide him from this damn woman.
