Chapter 21 - part 21 of Dragon Knight ARC XX The Black Blood

Chapter 1: The Calm Before the Hunt

It had been two weeks since the apocalypse.

The skies had cleared, painting a soft, washed-out blue above, but the roads still bore the scars of the blood rain — crimson streaks smeared across cracked cobblestones. Life was crawling back. People rebuilt what they could, merchants returned with creaking carts and tattered banners, and laughter cautiously threaded its way through the streets like a fragile spark.

In the village center, the grand Hall of Fame stood tall, statues lined its heart, carved meticulously in honor of Strom, Zyphus, Wraith, Sam, Violet, Astrid, Thane, Natalya, and Dravyss. Sunlight caught the edges of the stone, highlighting polished surfaces and worn marks from countless hands tracing their heroes' names.

Inside the hall, the group moved slowly, voices bouncing softly off the marble walls.

Strom: "They should've made statues of all the warriors, not just us."

Zyphus: "Man, we've got an army of over three thousand, and we don't even have a hall big enough."

Wraith: "Can't believe we survived that… thing."

Violet: "Honestly, I thought we were doomed the moment your mom left us, Strom."

Strom: "I wasn't. I knew she wouldn't leave for good… I believe she'll come back for me."

Sam (staring at his statue): "Ahhh, why's my nose this long on the statue?!"

Thane: "I don't think it's that long."

Sam: "HEY! Big guy, I don't have that much big a nose!"

Natalya: "My statue's perfect. Look — me and Wraith look like twin sisters."

Wraith: "Yes. Sisters of Chaos."

They all shared a laugh, the sound echoing and bouncing around the hall, before stepping back into the sunlight. Dust motes shimmered in the beams as they left.

On the road, Zyphus walked alongside Strom, their footsteps crunching against the gravel.

Zyphus: "Well… it's time to go."

Strom: "What? We just started having fun and you're leaving?"

Zyphus: "You're right, but I have to protect my kingdom. Don't worry — we'll visit during vacations."

Strom: "Alright, prince. Go protect your people."

Zyphus: "I'm a knight, not a prince."

Strom: "Come on, you wear diamond armor — you're rich."

Zyphus: "Ahhh, that's just my choice."

They exchanged a few more jabs, smiles lingering on their faces, before finally parting ways. Dust rose from their footsteps, lingering in the sunlight like a faint mist of memory.

Chapter 2: The Ritual

Far from Strom's laughter, in a shadowed clearing, two figures lingered — Jack and Dark Strom. The air was thick with tension and a smell of rot and iron.

Jack: "It's a pain to see him laughing."

Dark Strom: "Don't worry. It's his last time."

Jack: "You know… we can't—"

Dark Strom: "You don't know."

Jack: "That big dragon — Dravyss — she won't let him die. And then we'll—"

Dark Strom: "Oh, don't fear that bitc#… I know something for her."

They turned and walked toward the massive, rotting corpse of Bizoker. Each step made the ground crack beneath their boots.

Jack: "She just killed him, years ago."

Dark Strom: "We don't need him… but we need him."

Jack's brow furrowed, but he understood — this was about more than a body. This was about power.

Jack: "You can't survive that pain."

Dark Strom: "You don't know how much I've survived." (His voice low, remembering the torment under Strom's aura)

Jack: "It's nothing compared to what you're about to feel."

Dark Strom: "I don't care. I won't let him live peacefully after he killed my master. I'll destroy him."

Jack: "Bizoker wasn't even from this world. See his size, feel that black aura leaking from him even without the stone… You'll die."

Dark Strom: "…But if I survive—"

Jack: "—Then Strom won't."

They began the ritual. Dark Strom gripped Bizoker's massive claw while Jack chanted an ancient spell. Steam hissed and curled from the corpse, thickening into a choking fog.

Then came the scream. Not a warrior's cry — a raw, piercing agony that made even Jack's blood run cold.

Dark Strom's roar tore through the night, echoing like a chained beast. The screaming went on… until it stopped.

Jack: "Bro? …Are you okay?"

No answer. No movement. Just the choking fog.

Jack (quietly): "Oh god… He didn't make it. The pain… it killed him. I failed you, my friend."

From the mist, footsteps. A tall figure emerged — eyes burning purple and black, aura leaking like poison from the skin.

It was Dark Strom… but not the same.

Dark Strom (his voice now colder, heavier): "Now… he will know pain."

---

Chapter 3: The Calm Before the Storm

Morning sunlight filtered through shattered trees. Strom, Wraith, Sam, and Astrid sat together, enjoying the rare quiet. Birds chirped hesitantly in the distance.

Strom: "Man… peace ☮️ just hits different."

Wraith: "Can you not say that? Every time you do, something bad happens."

Sam: "Yep. He opens his mouth — boom, chaos."

Astrid: "Actually… I've got an idea. Hey, Knight, want to arm wrestle?"

Sam: "See? You guys cannot chill for even a second."

Wraith: "Both of you were born for chaos."

Strom: "Hell yeah! Arm wrestling with someone strong? I'm in."

They locked hands over the rough wooden table. Muscles strained, the table groaned and splintered under the pressure. After a brutal struggle… Strom lost.

Astrid (smirking): "You need more training."

Strom (rubbing his arm): "How are you even that strong?"

Astrid: "I'm a Valkyrie. Strength isn't normal. In my case, it's genetic — both my parents were knights. So basically, being strong is in my blood."

Strom: "I don't think training will help me to beat a muscle mommy."

Astrid (laughs): "You're always so funny."

Sam: "What about me?"

Astrid: "You should be thanking me for not roasting you today."

Wraith: "Yes, Sam. Show some respect. Bring her some blue flowers."

Sam: "Blue flowers? She'd punch me for that."

Astrid: "Insane… as a Valkyrie, we're not supposed to befriend outsiders. But I guess I broke that rule."

Strom: "Well, good. 'Cause now no one in your village looks at us like enemies anymore. Feels like we're part of it."

Their calm shattered when a villager came running, panic in his eyes.

Villager: "D–demons! They're coming! The village is under attack!"

Astrid: "Hell yeah fighting time"

Strom:" let's go"

Chapter 4 – Shadows and Fire

Scene 1 – The Ride

Strom summoned Dravyss. The dragon's wings sliced through the air, tearing the clouds apart like rippling silk. The wind whipped around Strom, tugging at his hair and cloak, carrying the scent of pine and distant smoke.

Dravyss: "I feel something… abnormal."

Strom: "We'll see after. Right now, we move."

The sky above darkened slightly as they sped, shadows stretching like claws across the forest below. Then, Strom felt it — a familiar, twisted aura, sharp and heavy, coiling like a snake in his chest. His heart skipped.

Strom: "Take care. I'll be back."

(Leaps off Dravyss mid-flight.)

Dravyss: "Take care, son. I'll piss them off."

Strom: "Love you, mom!" ❤️

---

Scene 2 – The Split

Dravyss and her squad descended upon the village, chaos already erupting. Villagers screamed, children cried, but Dravyss's roar cut through the air like a thunderclap. Flames licked the edges of the dirt demons, carving safe paths for those who had nowhere to run.

Dravyss: "Alright, children — first, get everyone to safety. Then attack. No innocent dies today."

Wraith: "Got it."

They scattered, like shadows splitting from a single source, pulling villagers to safety and leaving a trail of fire and destruction in their wake.

---

Scene 3 – The Confrontation

Strom landed alone in a shadowed clearing. The air was thick, heavy, vibrating with a dark aura that hummed like a predator's growl. The trees around him shivered as if sensing death approaching.

Strom: "Yo, Black Blood. I'm here. I know you can see me."

From the darkness stepped Dark Strom. His armor was blacker than obsidian, aura leaking like poisoned smoke.

Strom: "Man… your armor's darker than my future."

Dark Strom: "Nice joke. Glad you know you're going to die."

Strom: "So what now? Same old 'you killed my master, I kill you' thing? Come on, man, grow up."

Dark Strom: "Cocky huh? You don't fight seriously?"

Strom: "Nah, I just don't want to be a dead @ss like you."

(Calls his spear to hand.)

Dark Strom: "New armor won't save you."

Strom: "We'll see."

(Slides on his rings, sparks flying from friction.)

---

Scene 4 – Meanwhile…

Back with Dravyss' squad, the villagers were safe for now. Wraith, Sam, and Astrid tore into the demons like a whirlwind. Astrid's blade cut arcs of fire, Wraith's claws shredded anything near her, and Sam's staff glowed with arcane energy. Demons roared, but none survived contact.

---

Chapter 5 – Dust and Blood

Scene 1 – The "Army"

Dravyss & gang wiped out the first wave of demons in seconds.

Astrid (disappointed): "When the villagers said 'big demon army', I thought — hell yeah. But…"

Sam: "Come on, Astrid, we won. Let's celebrate."

Astrid: "These weren't even real — just dirt scraps."

Wraith: "Which means they're probably just minions of someone else…"

A deep laugh echoed through the clearing. Jack stepped forward, clutching a dark magic book. Behind him rose a massive horde of dirt demons, taller, thicker, endless as a nightmare.

Jack: "Well, well… Mother Dragon herself."

Dravyss: "You came back? We spared you so you could live a peaceful life. But… shit is shit."

Jack: "Let's see who's the real shit here."

The dirt army surged forward. The gang dove into combat — swords flashed, claws tore — but Jack's magic constantly recreated any fallen minion.

---

Scene 2 – Spear vs. Spear

Meanwhile, Strom and Dark Strom clashed — spear against spear. Each strike sent shockwaves, shattering the dirt beneath their feet. Sparks flew from metal, blue fire from Strom, black aura from Dark Strom.

Strom: "Repaired that piece of junk, huh?"

(Glances at Dark Strom's once-broken spear.)

Dark Strom: "You're not the only one who can fix things."

A brutal swing from Strom split Dark Strom's spear in two.

Strom: "Still crap as usual."

Dark Strom hurled the broken weapon. Strom sidestepped.

Strom: "Slow as hell—"

Before he could finish, Dark Strom blitzed forward, smashing a black-aura punch into Strom's ribs.

Dark Strom: "Saying something?"

Strom (pushing himself up): "Yeah… shut the f** up."

---

Scene 3 – Fists and Fury

The fight shifted to hand-to-hand.

Dark Strom's black-aura punches shattered stone, blazing kicks cracked the ground. Strom countered with blue-fire jabs, elbow smashes, and grapples. Blood splattered, armor bent, sweat mixed with dirt — both fighters relentless.

Strom grabbed Dark Strom, spun him through the air, slamming him into the ground.

Strom: "Taste some dust, bitc#."

Dark Strom pushed up, wiping blood from his mouth.

Dark Strom: "You think you're going to win, huh?"

Both warrior were exhausted but non of them is giving a Inch, and both are unstoppable.

Chapter 6 – Equal Points

Scene 1 – Saving Each Other

Dirt minions surrounded Wraith, swinging crude blades. One aimed to strike her down.

Astrid moved like a whirlwind, her sword cleaving through them.

Astrid: "Not this time, princess."

Wraith: "Okay, okay… you win."

Minutes later, the tide shifted. A 10-foot dirt demon slammed Astrid into the ground. Her muscles tensed, but she didn't move.

Wraith leaped in, claws flashing, tearing the demon apart.

Wraith: "Yo, muscle mommy — get up. This isn't your living room."

Astrid: "Alright… equal points."

---

Scene 2 – Dravyss & Sam Tag-Team

Sam was ambushed — his staff knocked away, and a ring of dirt monsters closed in. Dravyss roared, flames engulfing the area, tearing demons apart.

Dravyss: "Don't you dare touch him."

Sam: "Thanks, cool aunty."

Dravyss carved paths, but her attention was split. Sam had to act. A rare demon with a metal spear charged — Sam killed it, grabbed the weapon, whispered a spell, and hurled it straight at Jack.

The spear pinned Jack's cloak to the ground, weighted with magic.

Sam: "Time's up, punk."

Lightning crackled, striking Jack's unprotected book. The ancient text smoked, but Jack survived… just barely.

Jack:"You will regret little mage"

Sam: "That's my nickname. Only my friends get to use it. Not you, b*tch."

Jack froze. Years of Strom calling him that during fights flashed in his mind, fueling his rage.

Jack: "They'll see…"

He began summoning giant dirt demons, massive, clawed, towering over the battlefield.

---

Scene 3 – Strom vs. Dark Strom

Strom's blue-fire punch struck Dark Strom's helmet. Cracks spiderwebbed, then the helmet shattered.

Dark Strom: "Strong… but not worthy."

Strom: "Then get ready for the next one."

Fists, knees, blue fire, black aura — each strike shook the ground, sending dust and shards flying. Strom grabbed Dark Strom, slamming him into the dirt, lifting and throwing him across boulders.

Strom: "Stay down. I don't want to kill you… but if I have to, I will."

Dark Strom laughed, dark and hollow, echoing across the ruined battlefield.

Chapter 7 – The Frozen Heart

Scene 1 – Dark Strom's True Form

Dark Strom, smirking through blood and pain:

Dark Strom: "Still weak as hell."

Strom threw him against a cracked wall. Dust fell, echoing in the quiet.

Strom: "Still want to laugh, huh?"

Dark Strom rose slowly. Bones cracked, flesh twisted. Black aura surged. In seconds, where Dark Strom stood, now a monstrous black dragon with jagged horns, scales like obsidian, and eyes burning with malice.

Dark Dragon: "See, kid… look where you stand."

Strom: "Man… what the fuck is that now?"

Dark Dragon: "Now… how about a 1v1?"

Strom: "You're a dragon, I'm human — that's cheating!"

Dark Dragon: "Everything's fair in war, little Knight."

---

Scene 2 – Sam vs. Jack

Sam finally reached Jack amidst chaos. Dirt beasts crushed the ground around him.

Sam: "Your time is over."

Jack: "No… I don't think so."

Jack's spell summoned massive dirt demons that pinned Sam.

Jack: "See? Weak. Physically frail. Magic insufficient. Everyone laughs at you."

Sam: "No… you're lying."

Jack grab his massive execution blade walking towards sam with a phycho smile in his face.

Jack:" Don't worry it won't hurt"

Astrid(from away) : "Sam, babe… don't let him win!"

That word hit Sam like a punch to the chest.

Sam unleashed a mana shockwave, dropping every demon in a 5-meter radius. He glowed with raw power, spell after spell raining on Jack.

A Flame Phoenix fireball slammed into Jack, knocking him down, burning and bleeding.

Jack cast Malvek frost spell, freezing Dravyss solid in her place.

Sam: "You! What have you done?!"

Jack ( weakly smile like a meinace) "You don't know and I won't tell you"

In anger, Sam's punch ended Jack's life instantly, The impact was raw and brutal.

---

Scene 3 – The Frozen Heart

The battlefield fell silent. Dravyss remained frozen, eyes closed, peaceful yet terrifying.

Astrid: "Hey… dragon mom, wake up."

Sam: "Her heartbeat's slowing. I can feel it."

Wraith: "No… she's too strong. She can't—"

Sam: "It's the truth."

Astrid grabbed Sam's collar, fury and tears in her eyes:

Astrid: "Save her!"

Sam tried — nothing. Wraith cut her palm, pressed bleeding hands to Dravyss's chest.

But nothing happened.

Wraith cut her arm then and let the blood flow freely then she press her blooded hand on Dravyss chest , the stone glow faint but nothing happened and glow dim again.

Wraith: "work please!"

She slam her arm again , sam cast his spell again but nothing happened again, her heart beat is slowing and hope is dying.

Chapter 8 — "The Different Truth"

The battlefield was a swirling chaos of black flames and dust. Every strike from the Dark Dragon shattered the earth beneath Strom's feet. He rolled, ducked, sidestepped, and lunged, his spear slicing through the air, barely avoiding the crushing blows.

His voice was raw, desperate, almost pleading:

Strom: "Dude! That wizard killed your family, your first love — and you're still fighting for his revenge?!"

The Dark Dragon laughed, a deep, rumbling sound that made the ground quake.

Dark Dragon: "You don't know the truth, Strom. He didn't take my life… he gave me power."

Strom's eyes narrowed, trying to process the twisted logic.

Strom: "…So who destroyed your life?"

The answer came like a dagger through his chest.

Dark Dragon: "It was me."

Even the distant fires seemed to pause. The air itself felt frozen.

Dark Dragon: "I killed my own parents for power. I killed everyone I loved for power. I'm the one who killed Wraith… Sam… Angela… and even my Dravyss, in my world."

Strom's grip on his spear faltered. For a heartbeat, he froze.

Strom: "…You ugly lizard… you don't deserve to live."

The Dark Dragon's eyes burned with twisted pride.

Dark Dragon: "I am the reason for my strength. And you — you're the reason for your weakness. You have people to love."

Strom: " Ruling in world is boring, but Ruling in hearts is the real thing, we all need someone special in our life, this make us alive."

Dark Strom: "No i don't think so. The only way to become fearless is to erase your fear by yourself."

It hit Strom — this wasn't just a monster. This was a man who had turned himself into a monster willingly.

Strom's thoughts burned.

"He's mad for power… nothing else matters to him. I need something big… something that will end this for good."

He darted sideways, rolling between the dragon's claws, and kicked a small stone high into the sky.

The dragon roared, chasing him.

Strom suddenly sprinted straight toward the massive snout.

At the last moment, he leapt — his hand gripping the nose spike as he landed right between the dragon's eyes.

Strom: "You black lizard, mad for power… you're a fool. You kicked away the true power — the kind that comes from being loved by others."

Dark Dragon growled,

"Love makes you weak. It keeps you afraid, always protecting, always worrying. That's not strength — that's a chain."

Strom: "…Then let's see how your power holds up to mine."

The stone he had kicked earlier came falling back — but now it was no stone.

It was an asteroid, larger than anything Strom had ever summoned, its surface engulfed in roaring blue fire.

It fell like judgment from the heaven itself.

The impact shook the battlefield to its core.

The Dark Dragon's face took the full force, sending shockwaves that tore through the ground for miles.

Dust and boulders rained down like meteors.

When the smoke cleared, the dragon lay bleeding, half-buried in rubble.

Still breathing… but barely.

Strom stumbled forward, his body screaming in pain, yet he forced himself to walk.

With each step, dust rolled off his scorched armor.

He climbed onto the dragon's chest — and there, embedded deep in the scales, was a pulsing black and dark purple gem.

Strom: "…Hell yeah. Just what I wanted."

With a single, crushing punch, the gem shattered into countless shards. The Dark Dragon's body writhed, twisted, then shrank, collapsing back into human form — Dark Strom, broken, gasping.

Dark Strom: "No… no, Strom, please — leave me. I'll never hurt anyone again—"

Strom: "I left you once. Not again."

He grabbed Dark Strom by the head, snapping his neck without hesitation. The body went limp.

Strom: "You loved your master too much? Go meet him in hell."

Elsewhere, the battlefield fell quiet, but Strom didn't pause. The distant flicker of blue light called to him — Dravyss.

---

Chapter 9 — The Stone is Not Enough

The battlefield was dead silent. Ash floated like black snow, each breath heavy in Strom's lungs. Wounds burned with every step, but pain was nothing compared to dread twisting in his gut.

He ran. Stumbling, limping — each second stretched like an eternity — until he saw them:

The center of destruction.

Everything was ruined. Armor and weapons lay shattered, scorched earth splitting beneath them. Astrid knelt, dirt-streaked tears marking her face. Sam bowed his head, shoulders trembling. Wraith hovered over Dravyss, hands pressed to her chest as if willing her to live.

And Dravyss… frozen in a thin shell of frost. Eyes closed, body unnervingly still.

Strom (voice breaking): "…What happened here? Why is Mom like this?"

Astrid's lips trembled, but she couldn't speak. Sam's voice was flat, hollow.

Sam: "We… we lost her. No heartbeat for an hour ago. No magic flow. She's… gone."

Strom dropped to his knees, hands shaking as he reached toward her frozen form.

Strom (whispering): "No… no, that's not possible. Not her… not my mom…"

He pressed the shattered Blue Stone from his neck to her chest. The faint glow sputtered, then died.

Strom (desperate): "Please, work! Please! Mom don't leave me please , don't go where I can't follow you mom! Please.

Nothing.

Wraith's eyes burned with determination. She tore a strip from her sleeve, cutting deep into her palm and forearms again but deep ,letting blood drip freely.

Wraith (hoarse but firm): "I won't let her go. Not like this."

Strom looked up, panic in his eyes.

Strom: "Wraith, stop! You'll—"

Wraith (cutting him off): "If my life is the price, so be it. I'll trade it all — I'm not losing her.

She pressed both bleeding palms against Dravyss's chest again and again until The Blue Stone responded, glowing brighter, pulsing, swirling into her frozen shell. Cracks formed across the icy prison, glittering shards falling like stars.

Dravyss collapsed forward, weak but alive, into Strom's arms.

Dravyss (faint whisper): "…You're all… here…"

Tears dripped from Strom onto her chest.

Strom (shaking): "Yes mom we are here for you."

Wraith gave a tired smile before going limp into Astrid's arms. The battlefield remained broken, but for Strom, the world regained color. His mother was alive.
