Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Captain of the Loguetown Naval Base!

The execution platform in Loguetown is a place of great significance.

Ever since Pirate King Roger was executed here, it has become a popular spot where people come every day to witness the spectacle.

Some visit out of curiosity, others to curse Roger, as it was he who started the Great Pirate Era. Then there are those who see it as the starting point for their own ambitions, hoping to follow in his footsteps and claim the legendary treasure.

Every day, many hopeful souls come here, eager to set sail on their own grand adventure.

However, Lynn and Nami have come simply out of curiosity.

"Wow, is this where the Pirate King was executed?" Little Nami looked up at the platform, her eyes wide with wonder.

"Hehe, hahahaha... Hey, little brat, are you going out to sea as a pirate too?" A towering man, over three meters tall, approached them.

His gaze was intense, and he fixed his eyes on Lynn and Nami.

Lynn frowned as the man's voice boomed loudly, causing Nami to quickly cover her ears.

The people who had been gathered around immediately paled and ran off in fear.

Lynn's instincts told him that this man was no ordinary person.

There was an undeniable pressure emanating from him.

"Who are you? What does it have to do with you whether I become a pirate or not?" Little Nami hid behind Lynn and retorted angrily.

This guy had such a loud voice. He had startled her, and she didn't feel like being nice to him!

"Sis, let's go. Don't pay attention to his loud voice." Lynn gently pulled Nami and started to walk away quickly.

"Loud voice! Lululu!" Nami turned around just before they left and stuck her tongue out at him.

"Hahahaha! What a funny little kid." The giant man laughed, clearly amused.

The "little kid" he was referring to was Lynn. The man had sensed something unusual about him.

"Colonel Hoba, is something wrong with those two kids? Should we bring them in?" asked a naval officer in a captain's uniform.

If Lynn had heard this, he would have easily guessed the identity of the loud man.

In Loguetown, who else could it be but the base commander stationed there with the military rank of Colonel?

"No, no, we're not the type to arrest everyone. How's the plan progressing?" Colonel Hoba asked with a smile.

"Yes! Colonel Hoba! Our people have surrounded all the pirate ships in the port. Our warships are in the open sea. They won't escape this time! Major Lami said we can move in now!" the captain reported excitedly.

"Hahaha! Then, let's send all these damn pirates to the underwater prison!" Colonel Hoba said, his sharp eyes scanning the port before giving a decisive order.

"Yes! Colonel Hoba!" the captain replied enthusiastically.

This operation to catch pirates was a big deal for the navy, as capturing these pirate groups would lead to rapid promotions.

Soon, the operation to capture pirates in Loguetown was underway.

Many pirate crews, who were still at the starting point of their dreams, were caught before they could even enter the Grand Line.

Lynn and Nami observed everything that happened in Loguetown from a distance, hidden in another space.

Lynn hadn't expected that the loud voice earlier belonged to the base commander of Loguetown.

No wonder he had felt such pressure from the man.

But now, an opportunity had presented itself.

"Nami, we can head to the naval base now. I hope we find the treasures we're looking for," Lynn said softly.

"Treasures? Got it! Hehehe~" A spark of excitement flashed in Nami's eyes.

She had been startled by the loud voice earlier, so it shouldn't be too much trouble to sneak away with the naval charts, right?

Both Lynn and Nami exchanged knowing glances, each recognizing the mischievous spark in the other's eyes.

"Hehehe~"

"Hey, Nami, let's go find that loudmouth's office first!" Lynn suggested, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Yeah, watch this!" Nami replied with a grin.

With that, the two of them silently smirked at each other. Nami reached out and pushed open a hidden air door.

Beyond the door lay the naval base of Loguetown!

Knowing there might be Den Den Mushi surveillance inside the base, Lynn and Nami quickly decided to disguise themselves.

Nami donned a mask and a loose robe, while Lynn hoisted her onto his shoulders. From the outside, they looked like adults, or at least, it was convincing enough to fool anyone they encountered here.

Beyond the door lay the naval base of Rogue Town!

Of course, it might not fool the sharp-eyed readers, but it would do the trick for the people here!

After creating small holes in the robe to accommodate his shoulders, Lynn carefully stepped out of the alternate space, Nami perched atop him.

Once they confirmed the coast was clear, they made their way toward the office of Colonel Hoba, the base commander.

Time was ticking, and they had no idea when Hoba would return, so the two wasted no time, diving straight into the search.

"Lynn, come here and look at this! Is this what you're looking for?" Nami called out, having found a notebook on Hoba's desk.

"Let me see!" Lynn rushed over to check.

He opened the notebook and found it was filled with records of Hoba's training techniques and his experiences in training marines.

Flipping through the pages, Lynn's eyes lit up when he reached the final entries: notes on the Six Styles of the Navy. What surprised him even more was that there was also Hoba's personal experience with the use of Haki!

"This is it! This is perfect! Nami, you really are my lucky star!" Lynn exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement as he praised Nami.

The notebook contained records of four of the Six Styles—Iron Block, Storm Kick, Moon Step, and Shaving—the ones Lynn needed most. It was more than enough to meet his current needs.

Not to mention the methods for practicing Haki. Both Armament Haki and Observation Haki were exactly what Lynn needed. He was thoroughly satisfied!

"Hehe! Of course, I'm super lucky!" Nami said proudly, puffing out her chest.

With the notebook safely stored in Nami's alternate dimension, Lynn placed her back on his shoulders, and they continued their search for what Nami needed.

"Hurry up, hurry up!"

"Everyone, hurry and support the port!"

"All units, head to the port to assist Colonel Hoba!"

The voices of the Marines rang through the building as the two children quickly realized they didn't have much time.

"Hey, who are you? Why are you here?" a Marine shouted when he spotted the "masked man."

Uh-oh, we've been discovered!

"Ah? Um… um… I don't know who I am..." Nami stammered in a panic, caught off guard by the sudden attention.

"You're an intruder! Someone's infiltrated the base!" the Marine yelled, and within moments, the sound of a shrill alarm echoed throughout the base.

Lynn immediately dashed into a nearby corner of the corridor, drawing the Marine toward him.

"Stop! Don't run!" he called, hoping to mislead the Marine.

As soon as the Marine stepped forward, Lynn swiftly struck him with a precise hand slash, knocking him out cold.

"We've been discovered! What do we do now, Lynn?" Nami asked, her voice full of concern.

"Don't worry. Let's just retreat into the different space for now." Lynn said calmly, his confidence unwavering.

With Nami's Door-Door Fruit ability, there was no way anyone here could catch them.

Nami immediately opened a door in the wall, and in an instant, they were safely hidden away in their alternate space, escaping the immediate danger.
