Episode:22
If this devastating situation is viewed from a satellite, only a few scattered explosions can be seen across the world.
But when observed from ground level, everything is nothing but destruction.
Streets, alleys, houses, restaurants, and shops—everywhere people were attacking each other like wild beasts. They were tearing into one another with no mercy, and the scene of brutality had spread everywhere.
Any ordinary human witnessing this would lose their senses instantly.
All across the roads, vehicles were scattered. Most of them were badly damaged, as if a massive accident had taken place. Some cars were piled on top of each other. Many had broken windows, and inside them, people were being surrounded by zombies.
Through open windows, humans were being mercilessly torn apart and devoured.
Their faces were so badly disfigured that they were no longer recognizable as human.
A few vehicles, however, were parked on the roadside in relatively safer positions, with people sitting silently inside, trying not to attract any attention.
Inside one car was a single man who had likely left for the office that morning. He sat trembling, his entire body soaked in sweat as he fearfully scanned his surroundings.
In another car nearby, a newlywed couple sat quietly with their windows tightly shut, judging by their clothes likely on a honeymoon trip.
A third vehicle was in a critical condition. It was partially suspended near a broken roadside structure, dangerously leaning toward a deep blue river below. One wrong movement could send it plunging into the water at any moment.
A large truck stood nearby, its impact having left the vehicle severely damaged.
Inside that car, a 30-year-old woman lay slumped over the steering wheel, covered in blood. In the back seat, a ten-year-old girl was crying uncontrollably, trembling with fear.
"Mummy… mummy, I'm very scared… please wake up…"
She kept calling her mother again and again, but the woman did not respond. The child, unable to understand the truth, continued trying to wake her.
Meanwhile, several army officers arrived at the scene while assessing the situation.
They were carrying sniper rifles and silently inspecting the vehicles, signaling each other about which ones were empty and which were not.
Out of the five officers, one managed to identify two vehicles containing survivors—a middle-aged office worker and a young newlywed couple.
The officer cautiously approached the office worker's car and tapped on the window. The man flinched in fear. When he looked outside and saw the soldier, a wave of hope suddenly filled his eyes.
He quickly opened the door and stepped out quietly.
The officer signaled another soldier, and the man was escorted to safety.
The same procedure was followed for the newlywed couple, who were also rescued successfully.
However, the remaining vehicles were completely destroyed. Blood, shattered glass, and silence covered the area. No zombies were visible, yet their terrifying growls echoed everywhere.
Suddenly, one officer heard the faint sound of a child crying. The sound was coming from behind a large truck.
Without wasting any time, he moved toward the direction of the sound and carefully reached behind the truck. There, he saw a car dangerously tilted and hanging near the edge of the broken structure, ready to fall into the deep river below at any moment.
He immediately rushed toward it.
Inside the car, a dead woman lay over the steering wheel.
He checked her pulse carefully… but there was none. She was already gone.
In the back seat, a ten-year-old girl was crying in terror. The officer quickly tried to rescue her, carefully covering the broken glass with a cloth so she wouldn't get injured.
Just as he reached to pull her out, the car shifted further…
And in the next moment, the vehicle—along with the body inside—plunged into the deep blue river below.
The officer fell backward in shock…

Did the army officer manage to save the child… or did fate once again prove to be cruel?
