Officers entered and left the tent with lowered heads while carefully delivering reports, afraid that even the smallest mistake would invite Haster's wrath. Guards stood motionless outside the entrance with their hands firmly gripping their weapons, and even the servants moved as quietly as possible. The entire command camp had become tense, and that tension only continued to grow as more troubling news arrived.
