The city walls of the Imperial Capital were filled with mages and soldiers. A huge number of mages were stationed along the walls, and each group was responsible for operating the magic circles that had been arranged across the defensive line. Mana continued flowing through the circles as they maintained the huge barrier covering the entire Capital.
Behind the mages stood rows of black swordsmen. They wore dark armor and held their weapons firmly while staring outside the city. A chilling aura came from their bodies, and their deadly killing intent made the atmosphere around them heavy. None of them spoke as they watched the constant bombardment coming from outside.

Another powerful attack struck the barrier, causing the entire wall to tremble slightly. The barrier rippled from the impact but remained intact, and the mages continued operating the magic circles without stopping.
