Chapter 14 - Kidnapped Again

Written by **EYRAM**

In a normal situation, this should be the obvious outcome, but Seraphina was not normal, and the fact that Lance could subdue her meant he might not be either. No, it was not a possibility; it was factual.

Then Seraphina stupidly began exerting more power; her skin slowly turned a bright red, her eyes even brighter and more luminous, and her hair flowed in the wind, each strand making a sound as it cut through the wind. Then, Serena, too, one of her eyes turned dim yellow, then her hair, a few strands.

At the time, her first instinct was to create distance between herself and her sister, but before she could get out, the gates got locked, and what she saw after turning back left her flabbergasted.

A woman with red hair so long it brushed against the floor and green eyes that reminded her of Lance at but a glance showed up, but the main highlight of her overall lineup was the gallant armor she wore, which looked to be platinum but reflected the mist in the sky that made it look like a nexus between colors.

Shortly after Seraphina overpowered Lance, the woman, who looked to be around 20 years old, held her hand, and that was when the colors in her hair, eyes, and arms became faint and dimmed. Who was this woman? She thought.

But Seraphina knew that she was not safe as well after what happened to her sister, right before her eyes, when the woman held her, and subsequently her cognitive abilities turned to zilch, and she lost consciousness.

When she regained consciousness, Serena was in a pitch white room, where only a white bed and a white bedstand lay, but then the rest of the room was empty. Right after waking up, the first thing on her mind was, where was her sister?

But then the very woman who was responsible for where she was now smiled while walking into the room she was in and said,

"Serena, I am sure right now you want to get out of those rags, right? I have a clean change of clothes."

"Yeah, but why would you help me? It just does not make sense to lock me up in a room, then talk to me like we are best friends."

"You're smart, that's good. I won't beat around the bush anymore. I have an ulterior motive; I need your help against the rising tide of darkness to start a revolt, nothing like vampires or their allies have ever seen before. Are you in on it or not?"

"Do I have a choice?"

"Your options are limited. I do have you in my custody, and if you say yes, we get to live happily, but say no, you know too much. I hope you understand what I'm saying." Serena gulped audibly

"Yes, but what if I still say no!"

"I like that, you're loyal, but it should not be to the likes of a Vampire!"

"What would be your answer if a stranger approached you, then asked you to join her army to eradicate your family?"

"I do not mean it in that sense."

"Well, that's what it sounds like."

"Serena, this I expected from your sister, not you."

"Can't a girl just have a bad day, just because I am always ever so cool-headed, must it mean I must be like that always, Huh?"

"Mark my words, you are going to regret the decision you made today. One day, you'll realize he is just using you."

"And you are some angels, who simply kidnapped me and kept me in a room against my will, and if I don't do your bidding, I am probably not going to live to see another day, or I'll go crazy from being kept here for so long, then no, I'd not leave one cage to walk right into another. Between him and you, who is using me?" Then the woman smiled and said,

"With such a pretty face, if you were a Dhampir in the early days, you would've experienced true pain, and maybe then you'd understand the cruel measures I have put in place, but I, Elaine Light, always get what I want.

Then she walked out, leaving Serena deep in thought, trying to decode her words, laying the facts, her last name light, was also Lance's, she had his eyes, were they siblings? No, that could not be, she said something about her time, like she was old.

Her dad did not age physically, and it would not be so surprising if Elaine could do it too, so the conclusion she drew was that she was his mother, her sister's crush's mother had kidnapped her and planned to make her an integral part in a war against her own family.

In Seraphina's room, everything was pitch white and as spacious, the room appeared to have no exits, as it blended in with the walls perfectly on the inside. Then someone opened the door, and in came the last woman she saw before waking up in this white room.

"Seraphina, I think we both know just how much your sister gets in the way of your love life. Everything was fine until this sister of yours came into the picture. She's pretty smart, innocent-looking like every other home wrecker."

"You cannot just come to me and start talking shit about my sister."

"Oh, but yes, I can. You might be a tough nut to crack, but guess what, I've cracked tougher nuts. Next time you speak to me in a way I don't like, you shall see just what and what not I can do; you are under my roof where my rules govern."

Then she walked out. An empty all white room made one lose track of time, ate away at their concentration, and sapped away sanity.

And without the girls' knowledge, a full night had gone by, and the next day, Jack got worried.
