Chapter 40 - The Great Showdown (Part 2)

Written by **EYRAM**

Soon, she was in the familiar pitch white building, noticing all the new additions to the place, and Elaine walked out, donning her Armor, and boldly walking in her direction. She ultimately decided to leave Lance on read for now; she was still way too young to focus on boys, but at the same time was also too young to die. Elaine said to her.

"You know the war is starting soon, and I've had zero time to train you or grasp your capabilities, and since this is a last-minute thing, I could barely make way for you in my formation, just go according to what everyone around you is doing. Any questions? Good, let's go."

Barely spacing out between her words, not giving Serena a chance to ask all her questions, and she found her thoughts and her plans all cloudy after that passionate kiss, she could still taste his minty breath in her mouth. And that was how she ended up on the way to war, her peacemaking plan somewhere in the back of her mind, as she was going straight into fire, as unarmed as coal.

Soon, she found herself in the familiar Vampire settlement, organizing a new plan, in the front lines, were her mother her twin and Elaine, Serena went to stand next to them holding s sword, her sister wearing a brute bronze armor, that looked downright reckoning, startling her opponents allowing her to always land the first strike, which could be a major deciding factor for the outcome of the battle.

Serena bridged the gap between them and started a conversation with a simple hi, but was totally ignored. Determined, she continued to rant about how smart her armor choice was, then went on and on about how different the house was without her twin, but then she said.

"Serena, shut up. We're on a battlefield."

"Does it have to be? You do know our dad is on the other side, half of who we truly are."

"Well, that very day, he attempted to kill me."

"Wow, small world."

"And you're defending him."

"Have you ever asked why he did it? Or the place he might be in emotionally," then abruptly the fight broke out, leaving Serena without an answer but her twin deep in thought. The Vampires were smart this time, not bringing weaker knights to add to the opposing team's strength. In the background, her mother was busily holding something, which she could tell was strong.

But the Vampires were all Duke knights, Vampire Lords, or the Vampire great lords. The fight was brutal, but Serena never felt stronger. The Vampires around her, the desire to hunt them, it was too much, just too great to resist, and she found herself doing something she had only ever seen her sister or father do, she controlled the blood spilled on the battlefield.

The blood turned yellow, a luminous shade of yellow, and she used that to create a divide between the Vampires and Dhampirs, and standing atop it, she shouted, her voice neither high-pitched nor low-pitched, but sounded straight out of their nightmares.

The most refined runes on her skin, and yellow blood coursing through her veins, her eyes, yellow, and her hair a stunning, luminous yellow, she shouted, with all her might, so loud but so soft, her voice giving each side the creeps.

"Why, why, must it come to this, what exactly about Dhampirs and Vampires, prevents them from co-existing" Then her twin Seraphina, took control of the remaining blood tuning it a solid red couloir, bright, and attacked her wall, at first it showed signs of shattering, but then, she brought out her starry arm, then for the first time made it glow, black. Unlike the usual white, but then the blood Seraphina controlled, and all the dropping blood on the battlefield, was at the tip of her fingernails.

Then her completely ordinated voice, well-tuned out to the last tone, became the most distorted thing they ever heard, and she proclaimed.

"I am a Starweaver."

"A corrupted heart is never purified."

"Whatever magic, be it white, can be turned black."

"The bridge between the balance, the in-between." Her eyes then turned black, and with it her hair, her skin becoming pale white, and her heart stopping, as she fell to the center of the war, looking pale…, and well dead. Like I said, the stupidest thing she ever thought of doing.

For a moment, everyone on the battlefield was scared by the tragic amount of magic Serena pulled in from the atmosphere, but then it seemed like there was none of that. The first person to walk up to her was none other than her twin; she was right in front of her, tears in her eyes as she sobbed.

"Serena, I finally found a sister, why did you do dis why, why did you do this to me" then lance was there, a sobbing mess, completely, broken, and then another person came closer to her, he was surrounded by blue black shadows, emotion returning to his eyes, as he just stared at his daughter in utter disbelief, this was seriously not happening right now, he said to himself.

For Serena, she woke up in her subconscious, strong emotions, pain, guilt, betrayal, hurt, hate, were what filled it; it was all dark: the hallways, the bad memories, the times she was used, and everything she regretted, it came at her all at once. Demolishing what she had left of sanity.

She found herself encroached in a corner, hurting on the inside, pain filled her more than anything, then the words of the mirror popped up, the old woman in the first castle insulting her, raining words of spite towards her, leaving Serena alone and nothing but blaming herself.

Soon she clenched her fingers, but her lips, tugged on her hair, out of pure frustration, it was all overwhelming.

Capitalizing on the emotional state of their enemies, both sides charged at each other, went out for the kill, and launched deadly attacks, not caring for their unfortunate allies, caught in the crossfire. The war was chaotic, and soon, both sides lost in the sick pleasure they got from satisfying their bloodlust, and the war turned into a free-for-all, with three people mourning her at the center.

In her subconscious, she just continuously harmed herself, till she was battered and bruised, from top, down. And when all hope seemed to be lost and things turned out extremely different from what anyone could expect,

Serena snapped, thought to herself, Why should it be what it was told to be? If all these things happened in the past, what could she do to possibly change them? Instead of sitting, beating herself up under the guise of regret, why did she not own up to it?

She might be the most horrible person in the world, guilty for the most heinous crime in the world, but guess what? She was sick and tired of caring; she would not give a damn about it, and no one could do a thing about it.

She would not just own up to it, she would own it, wear it like designer brands, proud of who she was and what she was blaming herself for; those never affected her, so why give a damn? If it was not her problem, she was going in, bold, full on, and ready to kill.

She felt the most dangerous she ever felt, and guess what, it felt good, so good, to be bad. Then just then, she was not in the dark anymore; she regained consciousness and found herself in a beautiful garden surrounded by greenery, and there was a river, a blue river that looked like perfection, the embodiment of water.

Leaves dangled from the trees, dancing in the wind and amidst this beautiful scenery, she found a woman, with the whitest skin she ever saw, that glowed, so beautiful, her long glossy healthy unnatural blue hair something to garner attention, and they both stared at each other for a while, one with sky blue eyes, the other with Sapphire ones. then breaking the silence, the unknown figure said.

"Serene, what brings you here? I can tell it's not your time to die."

"Who are you?" she asked, lost in the sheer beauty of that Lady, in blue. She laughed and said,

"You certainly are an odd part of the bunch, while they ask, am I in heaven? You ask me this."

"Yes, and I need an answer."

"Oh, but miss, I ask the questions here. It seems there was an error, killing you before your time, so tell me, since I'm in a good mood, I'm letting you choose. Would you rather restart your life, or enter the cycle of reincarnation?"

"I would do neither."

"If you restart your life, with this knowledge, just imagine…"

"I would go back to that battlefield and do what I came to do."

"Are you sure?"

"Are you deaf?" the lady gasped and spoke.

"Well then, it'll be an honor to return you to that hellhole you just came from."

"Tsk, and I thought an angel would spare me the trash talk."

"Angel, so that's what you think I am?" Then she began to laugh manically. "Serena, I've known you since the day you were born. I guided you. I am the invisible heat signature you've seen several times, but why did I do it? I'm such a talker, let me just show you." She kissed her again; this kiss was far longer and far more intoxicating than the one with Lance, and while she tried to talk, she found herself lost in it. Then the woman stopped, and Serena aimed to kiss her back then she said,

"My name is Diamond."

And Serena found herself, amidst the chaos of the battlefield, thinking only of and nothing but about the kiss.
