Elaine came forth in all this chaos and slapped Lance, right in the face, and he came tumbling down from the impact of the hit. Serena gasped in shock. The turn of events was rather unexpected, and the last thing that she wanted was to be caught unaware; this could sabotage her whole plan.
Amidst all that, Anne sent hateful gazes towards her, but then Serena went ahead and ignored it all, she made her way to what she perceived to be the secret guarding wing of the mansion, at first she was unperturbed, but as soon as they had the slightest inkling where she was going, the building initiated a lockdown sequence, and she had to admit she severely underestimated the Dhampirs.
Now she was locked, signals to the outside world were blocked, and she could not even uncover a thing, but she was not going to give up, she had to at least try, and that was when she heard a sound, it was Elaine's voice, and the fact that her mother was supporting her in the background made it that much harder to listen to.
"Try to destroy that wall, and the strength you exerted upon it will be bounced back to you," and in the background, her mother, the one she spent all those years helping, said,
"How does it feel, to be trapped, in the long run, all the strength you've got a hold of, rather unfairly has all come back to haunt you," then chuckled. Serena smiled, in a way that made her look like she was just underneath, in the darkest depths of hell, then she said softly, just enough for the microphones to audibly catch,
"Well, I'm not a brute, like some of those in the house, and the last action I'll do to get out is touching a wall, and clawing at it like some animal, but I guess some people do not have that kind of insight" while her mother who was seriously beyond recognition rained insults upon her she raised her right hand, and adjusted just a few parts of the intricate complex of webs that were displayed then the wall visibly opened and a sound ringed across,
"Lockdown sequence deactivated," and after that, Elaine's attempts to reinitiate it were useless. Now she knew what she had to do, and the last thing was to reveal her agenda, and hence she made her way out of the house at top speed, without performing excess movement.
She was going to mislead them into believing she had a multitude of fake plans, and then, while they were busily safeguarding for problems that did not exist, she'd be in her own space carrying out the actual plan. After making her way out, she placed some calls and made sure she was being watched by their cameras, and made it seem, to anyone who could read lips, that she was going to raid their treasury.
Soon she made her way to the street, stopped a passing cab, and went straight to work. Meanwhile, a lip reader was reading her lips in the footage, someone Elaine could easily get a hold of with that kind of money, and after she was done doing what they called her in to do, she left the room headless. They could not afford to let word get out.
Serena, on her way to work, turned one of her eyes a dim yellow, then looked around, hoping to see the silhouette of Diamond, but this time she noticed two black cars she could tell were filled with incomplete Dhampirs, who were probably after her.
They were both male, and she knew they were after her and decided to mislead them, then end them. She told her driver to send her to the bad parts of town. And true to her assumptions, they cluelessly followed her into the dark, mostly empty alleyways.
She told the cab to pull over, and she had to make a quick pit stop, but would later get back to the cabbie. The cabbie was obviously grumpy and threatened to make her pay double the price, but she just chuckled and delved deeper into the alley.
Forcing the male Dhampirs out of their car and after her, soon she had them right where she needed them, at a place so dark no camera would be able to capture a thing, but as a precaution she jammed the camera's present but decided to make it temporal, because a crime scene investigator would have an excuse to blame someone like her, with her history and status if they found a hacked camera.
Then, after the stage was set, it was time to dance. She donned gloves to prevent leaving her fingerprints on anything and went in for a punch to the gut on one of them. The other tried to flee, but she followed up with a kick to his groin, effectively crippling him, keeping him in pain while she dealt with the kicked one.
Which was also torture in a sense, scaring him to the bone as he had to witness how mercilessly he could be killed, then after all that messy assault, she looked towards the guy and gave him a sweet innocent smile, while in his head, he was just cursing at his predicament, then Serena followed up by initiating a conversation,
"Do you want to end up like Mr. over here?" Then he looked like his eyes had regained life and ecstatically proclaimed, rather desperately.
"No, no, I would never"
"Then I guess you have got to start speaking up. I'll start slow. Who asked you to troll me?"
"Elaine Light"
"Why did she ask you?"
"She believed you were going to raid her treasury because they were able to eavesdrop on your conversation over the phone." She smiled and asked,
"So, what is it in the treasury so heartily hidden?"
"Elaine's…" as soon as he started to speak, he began to cry, then he started overheating and his head exploded, creating a grueling visage making Serena frown, it happened too quickly to intercept and the way things turned out made her look forward to uncovering yet another mystery whatever they had done to prevent him from saying that meant the contents of the treasury were worthy of such drastic measures.
Then she went back after removing her bloody gloves, and after tying them up in a disposable rubber, then setting flames to it, she made her way to the alleyway and saw the angry cabbie angrily honking away, laying complaints at her, then she said to him.
"I would not need your services anymore."
"Where is my payment?"
"Let's just say it's lost in the winds, and if you attempt to emphasize the matter, you shall not like what I would do next to you."
"What can a little weak teenage girl like you do if you do not have the money? I'll be happy to receive payment in kind, instead of cash," she could recognize it in his voice, the growling that made her skin feel icky, the way his gaze lingered. He was a pedophile, she said loudly,
"I know what you are thinking of, but I do not contend with this lewd behavior."
"And what can you do, in the end it's only going to be my word against yours, and you chose just the perfect destination, I know an alleyway so dark, that you would not be able to see a thing."
"Well, unless my wrists have something to say," he laughed loudly, and for her, she just raised her hand and threw his car somewhere far, not even bothering to touch him.
Then she settled into the driver's seat of one of the black SUVs, the one the Dhampirs used to trace her destination, and she drove to her office, with no experience and no training, but due to her superior perception, it was not too much of a disaster.
When she finally arrived at the office she took her time to monitor the customer service, checking in case someone treated a customer -or employee for that matter- badly, then she decided to leave a platform for customers and employees to anonymously share their experiences, this would help in the case of corruption and harassment, she had the reviews sent directly to the legal department, and they would share any relevant ones that called for her attention,
the matter could not be helped, she had over 10,000 employees in total and that was just too much a matter to handle by herself to her best capability, moreover she was rarely available, and needed the place to be able to run smoothly while she was not present, as a matter of fact the only work she personally handled now was monitoring to ensure rules and regulations were followed to ensure smooth and orderly formal operation, and making big decisions regarding the company.
Afterwards, she went back to the Light mansion, giving enough time to plant the solid seed of doubt in both Elaine and her mom's minds, rather effortlessly, as soon as she walked through the hall, Elaine beckoned,
"Where have you been?" she smiled, her plan was going perfectly,
"I went to work, do not act like you did not send two black cars after me to find out where I was going."
"What did you do to them?"
"Oh, I do not know, do you mind sharing that with me?" At that moment, the tension in the hall was at its apex, then Elaine said,
"I want to let you know that I'm on to you, and you shall not get what is in the treasury, the…"
