Material Plane of Augu
Orloff's soul mutation had reached its most critical juncture.
His soul had become extremely fragile.
If he could endure this moment, he would succeed in his soul mutation.
Unlike the Sovereign of Death, who had to undergo a trial even after a successful soul mutation in order to become an Overgod…
If Orloff succeeded in mutating his soul, then as long as he merged with Augusta, and their two types of Sovereign power fused, he would immediately be acknowledged by the Laws of Fate and ascend directly to become the Fate Overgod.
After all, both Orloff and Augusta were Sovereigns with Sovereign sparks of the same level.
Likewise, if another soul mutate were to seize the opportunity to fuse a Fate Sovereign spark and another Sovereign spark of the same level before Orloff did, then that person would become the Fate Overgod instead.
Only the first to accomplish this feat could become the Overgod directly.
This was the new rule established after the Coiling Dragon Universe's upgrade.
The laws of Heaven and Earth were about balance. The upgraded laws used Sadius as a template—the first to achieve a pioneering feat would be acknowledged, if certain conditions were met.
Though no other feat under the rules of existence would ever be as unique or critical as what Sadius achieved.
It was all about balance. Sadius could issue the inheritance trials and technically allow someone who is a soul mutate of fate to achieve Supremacy in advance, but he, like Hongmeng, wanted the best.
There's nothing better than one's own effort.
Unfortunately, as Overgods, neither Sadius nor Ignis were permitted to disclose this rule.
Sadius and Ignis were silently observing Orloff.
Augusta continuously activated various soul-related treasures to prevent Orloff's soul from being completely destroyed.
Orloff's soul was far too powerful—so much so that the number of soul treasures needed was overwhelming.
Thankfully, Orloff had long been collecting soul-type treasures. Otherwise, he truly might not have been able to endure this soul mutation.
Augusta worked tirelessly, using the treasures to infuse massive amounts of soul energy into Orloff's fragmented soul.
Time passed bit by bit.
When their stockpile of resources was nearly depleted, Orloff's soul finally stabilized and began mutating.
"Haha! Looks like the third Overgod in the universe is about to be the Fate Sovereign."
During this period, Sadius and Ignis continued monitoring Orloff's transformation.
Days passed, then months, and in the blink of an eye, several hundred years went by before Orloff's soul was nearly fully recovered.
After all, his soul was far stronger than ordinary people's, so the recovery process naturally took longer.
One day, Orloff slowly opened his eyes.
"Orloff, congratulations on becoming the third Overgod in all of existence," Sadius and Ignis' voices echoed in Orloff's mind.
Orloff was puzzled. Though he had succeeded in mutating his soul, he was still technically a Sovereign—so why did Sadius claim he had already become an Overgod?
"You'll understand once you merge with Augusta."
Orloff turned to look at Augusta.
Although Augusta was reluctant to merge with Orloff, the circumstances had changed. Augusta immediately merged with him.
When the two Sovereign clones merged into one, their Sovereign powers fused together.
Orloff felt the Laws of Fate in Heaven and Earth converging upon him.
His previously perfected Fate Laws began ascending to an even higher level.
"So this is it…the so-called 'Perfection' wasn't truly the peak."
He had thought being an Overgod simply gave you more divine power like ascending from a Highgod to Sovereign.
He was wrong. Ascending gives you true comprehension and control of your corresponding law; meaning total authority. Previously, Great Perfection was perfection under Heaven, while true perfection meant becoming an aspect of Heaven.
If he wanted to strip someone of their fate element, he technically had the ability to do so; however, that would violate the rules set by Hongmeng, unless the lesser being did something to violate the rules of Heaven and Earth.
For example, if a sovereign destroyed a material plane, an Overgod had the authority to totally annihilate them. Otherwise, an Overgod was not allowed to wantonly kill anyone.
The rules have adjusted slightly now that the universe ascended but regardless, there were still rules to follow.
Orloff's power continued to climb.
The fused Sovereign powers began to transform, continuously refining Orloff's body.
The Fate Laws of the universe kept pouring into him.
At the same time, above Heaven, five towering Overgod phantoms reappeared.
"Fate Sovereign Orloff ascends to his position as the Supreme Overgod of Fate!"
Now, among Orloff and Augusta, who had used their true name?
Before the Overgods, everything was clear.
The name Augusta had only come into use after the two had split.
Thus, the laws of the universe recognized "Orloff" as the true name.
All were stunned once more: the Fate Sovereign Orloff had ascended.
Wasn't it said that only soul mutates could become Sovereigns?
To outsiders, Orloff was believed to have achieved Divinity within his own body, with no external clone.
No one suspected he had a separate identity.
The one most shocked was Uhtred—and the Sovereign of Death.
Uhtred had always regarded Orloff as a rival.
He believed their strengths were nearly equal—perhaps Orloff had once been slightly stronger.
But after Ignis became the Destruction Overgod and Uhtred signed a pact with him, Uhtred gained a share of Ignis's destruction origin, causing his strength to sCliocket.
He had since thought Orloff inferior.
And yet, now Orloff had become an Overgod.
This was a devastating blow to Uhtred.
He immediately contacted Ignis.
"Ignis, didn't Orloff become a God within his own body? How did he become an Overgod? And he didn't even undergo the Overgod Trial?"
"Uhtred, didn't Sadius also become an Overgod without a trial?
As for whether Orloff was a true body or had a clone—you can ask him yourself."
Neither Sadius nor Ignis had ever revealed the truth: that Orloff and Augusta were the same person.
Now that Orloff had become an Overgod, they would leave that explanation to him.
The Sovereign of Death was equally bewildered.
She had only recently completed her soul mutation, and then immediately witnessed the Overgod phantoms declare Orloff's ascension.
She thought the world had gone mad.
She still had to undergo the Overgod Trial before ascending.
But Orloff?
He was supposedly a true body God—how did he mutate his soul and skip the trial entirely to become an Overgod?
She simply couldn't understand.
Material Plane of Augu.
Orloff's body was now completely replaced by the Fate origin.
Their two souls had fully merged, never to separate again.
The two High Sovereign sparks flew out of his body.
Now that he was a Sovereign, he no longer needed them.
But with those two Sovereign sparks in his possession, he could bestow them upon his subordinates to create two new Sovereigns.
With the birth of the Fate Overgod, all living beings once again prostrated themselves in worship.
It had only been a few hundred years since Sadius became an Overgod, and now two more Overgods have already been born.
A few centuries from now, the Sovereign of Death would also ascend.
Four Sovereigns born in just a few hundred years—
Even faster than the era when Sovereign sparks first descended!
Upon becoming the Fate Overgod, Orloff immediately understood the laws of the universe.
He suddenly realized he was now bound by the universe's restrictions.
To become an Overgod was to accept even more binding rules.
To put it less politely—
Before becoming an Overgod, this universe was like a prison cage.
But now that he was one, this universe had become the shackles on his very body.
He was the cage itself.
In the past, he could research how to break free from the universe.
But now, he was part of the universe.
How could he possibly break it?
"How could this be? How could this be!?"
After merging with Augusta, Orloff was no longer the calm and composed Lord of Fate he had once been.
He now possessed all the joys and sorrows of normal people.
He had once aspired to transcend—but now that dream was gone. How could he not be furious?
"Orloff, what's done is done. Though you can no longer break free from this universe, there is still a way to see the worlds outside it. Both I and Ignis have sent clones to journey beyond."
Upon hearing Sadius' words, Orloff finally felt somewhat better.
He immediately set off for the Aether Overgod Realm to find Sadius and ask about the world beyond the universe.
