Chapter 34 - A Big Haul

Mother Yang hated Han Ziyan even more. In the past, she didn't want her son to get close to Han Ziyan, but who knows what kind of spell that woman cast on her son? Yang Jianming was just hung up on her. Now look at this! That woman caused such a tragedy, and yet she was nowhere to be seen.

"Mom, can we talk about this matter later on?" Yang Jianming also felt uncomfortable. He liked Han Ziyan, but he couldn't let go of Han Ruochen either. His heart was torn between the two sisters, and he just couldn't make up his mind at the moment. However, Yang Jiangming didn't want to worry about those things for the time being. At that moment, he wanted to get out of this damned place!

He slapped the mosquito that was biting him on the leg and said to his mother, "First, get me out of here, Mom. If I stay here any longer, I am going to go crazy!" The entire night, he didn't get a wink of sleep, and when he was locked up in the same cell as Boss Deng, he ended up getting into a quarrel and was beaten up.

It was only when he was almost beaten to death that the police officers separated his cell from his cousin's. But his body was still aching, and all Yang Jianming wanted to do was to lie down and sleep; as for the other things, he was going to worry about them later on!

Mother Yang also wanted to bring her son back home; no matter what her son had done, she was not going to leave him alone. She nodded and patted him on the cheek. "Don't worry; I will take care of this problem for you." As for her nephew, she didn't even pay attention to him. Boss Deng was a regular thug, and he was beaten and locked up every now and then. However, her precious son was different. He was a scholar and couldn't withstand such torment.

However, upon reaching the head of the police station, she realised that the matter was not as simple as she thought.

"What do you mean that I cannot bail him out?" Mother Yang spluttered. She thought that by paying a small sum of money, she would be able to

The chief raised his head and looked at Mother Yang. No wonder this woman raised her son into a hooligan like this. She was unaware of a lot of things, and yet she pretended to be smart enough to lead others by their noses. He rolled his eyes and said to her, "Do you think that this is a normal crime? Your son tried to kill someone! He didn't rob or tease someone on the street. Unless you bring me a letter of understanding, there is nothing I can do."

"Where am I going to get the letter of understanding!?"

"From the victim, of course, unless she signs the letter… I can't do anything about it."

When Mother Yang heard the response of the chief, her heart clenched. If it were before, she would have thought that it was not a big problem. After all, Han Ruochen had never dared to go east if she had been asked to head to the west. But now, she was no longer as confident. No woman would accept her lover getting involved with another woman, and that too her own sister.

As much as Han Ruochen liked her son, she must hate him now.

She asked, "Is there no other option?"

"The other option is to take out two thousand yuan."

Mother Yang sucked in a breath. Even if her family was rich, she knew that this amount was something even the Yang family would have a hard time getting their hands on.

Two thousand yuan was her entire family's savings! If she used it all to bail her son out, how was she going to marry her daughter off? And what about the expenses of their family? In the end, her little brain could only come up with one conclusion: She had to convince Han Ruochen to write the letter of guarantee.

Mother Yang was no longer confident, but when she thought about how Han Ruochen was the only one who could help her son, she gritted her teeth and left the police station. However, instead of going to Han Ruochen, she went to the source of the problem. It was Han Ziyan who caused this tragedy; if she didn't help her son, then she would never let Han Ziyan rest easy!

On the other side, Han Ruochen didn't know that such a thing had happened in the police station.

At that moment, she was looking at the money in her hands.

"Uncle, those shrimps were really sold for two thousand five hundred yuan?" Han Ruochen was shocked. She thought that she would be able to earn at least fifteen thousand yuan, but she never thought that her uncle would be able to sell them at such a high price.

Second Uncle Han saw the stupefied look on his niece's face and chuckled. "Of course, when have I ever lied to you? I was lucky and ran into a rich woman. She was rushing to entertain some guests and wanted to buy some fresh seafood. When she saw the roe and the plump peacock mantis shrimp, she didn't even flinch and bought it for a thousand yuan." Though he said that, even Second Uncle Han was still reeling from the shock. He knew that there were a lot of rich families in the county; he never thought that they were this rich!

Buying a mantis shrimp for a thousand yuan? That was simply crazy! But then again, the woman was happy to spend her money, and Second Uncle Han was not going to stop her. So he quickly sold the mantis shrimp to the rich patron before moving to the restaurant where he usually sold his goods. He was lucky and ended up selling both of the mantis shrimp for fifteen thousand yuan, and the zebra mantis shrimp? He left it behind, as Han Ruochen wanted to cook it.
