The students stumbled out of the Gate, one group at a time, appearing back inside the underground chamber of the Fifth Building. The air was thick with mana residue, but it felt almost refreshing compared to the choking desert inside.
Staff members rushed forward—healers, assistants, and instructors—casting restorative spells, offering potions, and checking each student's sensor badge for critical injuries.
Some collapsed on the floor in exhaustion, others cheered weakly. The glow of victory was faint, hidden under bruises and sweat, but it was there.
"You guys did it." one of the staff whispered, astonished as she scanned the records. "The Gate of Karzakh—Level 30, cleared."
The words rippled through the chamber.
Groups exchanged glances, realizing the magnitude of what they had survived. Most students never saw a double-phase boss until their third or fourth year, yet here they stood, still breathing.
Selina, clutching her staff, leaned against Tendou with a faint smile.
"I-I can't believe we're alive… You really… pulled us through that."
Tendou shook his head.
"We all did. If Howard hadn't held that stinger, or if Felix missed his shots, or if Selina didn't chain that worm… none of it would've worked."
He looked around, making sure every eye heard him.
"We lived because everyone fought."
His words carried, settling into the hearts of every group.
But not everyone was smiling.
Trueso Dom, sitting with his sword across his knees, narrowed his eyes at Tendou. "Hmph. Acting like a commander already, huh?" His voice dripped with irritation, but there was no denying the grudging respect in it.
Yuvel Oblik shot Trueso a look. "He saved your skin in there. Maybe show some gratitude."
"I didn't say he wasn't strong," Trueso muttered. "I'm just saying. Next time, I won't be the one following orders."
Tendou only offered him a calm glance. "Then next time, make sure your orders keep everyone alive."
Trueso flinched at the quiet rebuke, then turned away, his pride swallowing the words he wanted to spit out.
Damian Cane and Angela Smith walk towards Tendou with steady steps, Damian Cane said with his casual smiling face.
"Are you going to be the one leading the first year to victory against the second year and third year?"
"I don't know but it is not something I can tell by conquered the gate. I don't even know how their levels is compared to mine and they had more experiences in battle after all."
"My brother was not someone who you can defeat easily. If you want to defeat him, you need to conquer more gate and level up more than ten levels. Because his class is one of the rarer class called Enforcer. Also thank you for leading the teams to defeat the gate monster." Angela said calmly.
"So, are you also going to join the group, Angela? After all, you are one of the best AOE mage with high damage and best control in battle." Damian said with a sincere smile.
"I will join the group. After all I don't want to be defeated by some of the no name groups in the upcoming tournament."
The combat department teacher, Mr. Chris Tucker comes with the tablet which is showing the battle scenes inside the gate and said with the loud voice.
"Congratulations for conquering the gate which even the top two year students was difficult in doing. We are proud of your efforts but you guys need to have more coordination in battle. Tendou, you had the best battle awareness and battle instinct. Damian, you fight like it is a game to you and don't show very much in battle. Others are okay but need more experiences in battling with a horde of monsters. Now, you guys can go back to the room to rest and injured students will need to check up with the medical staff."
With that some of the students went to the medical ward and some of them went to the dormitory to rest. Tendou also went to his room to rest and Yuvel comes towards him with excited expression.
"Hey, Tendou I got the new skill in this battle."
"What? It's a good news. What kind of skill is it?" Tendou asks with curious expression.
"Burning Flame. Passive skill which has fire element based with burning effects."
"It's a good skill and after effects is best in all kinds of battle. You must got this skill from using too many shadow flames spells and getting critical damage."
"How about you, Tendou?"
"I just level up a bit. I didn't get any new skill but some of my skills level up."
"But you are the one taking the more attention from the staff members and teachers. I can at least tell the next battle with the senior, you will win without a doubt."
"Ohh,Yuvel. You had that much confidence in me or are you getting sick from the injuries. Should I get the teacher to check your conditions?" Tendou said with a teasing smile.
"You are a jerk."
"Thank you for the compliment. Now if you excuse me, I am going to rest." With that Tendou walked into his room and Yuvel also went to her room.
Inside the room, Tendou sat down on the chair and called out the Support System.
