Chapter 318 – The Awakening of Minato
"No wonder… so this is the weakness of Rinne Tensei," Yusuke muttered, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
"That's right. Rinne Tensei can indeed bring someone back to life, but it only applies to mortal beings. Everything in this world is bound by the law of balance," the Sage of Six Paths said calmly.
"No matter how great a person's influence on the world is, as long as they are alive, all the consequences created during their lifetime will be borne by the one who uses this technique," he continued.
"And for someone who has reached the level of Six Paths, you already know how immense their influence on the world is. The backlash from that reaction… even for you, it would be extremely difficult to bear," the Sage of Six Paths added.
"No wonder. When I revived Nawaki, I felt like something was affecting me," Yusuke said quietly.
"Then what if the user of the technique dies?" Yusuke asked.
"I don't know either. In truth, almost every user of this technique ends up dying. But there are exceptions… monsters like you. Just like when Uchiha Obito revived Madara. Even though Madara was incredibly powerful, he was still at the level of an ordinary human, so Obito could bring him back. But if Madara had already reached the level of Six Paths back then, even Rinne Tensei wouldn't have worked," the Sage of Six Paths explained.
"Oh, so there really is no such thing as a free lunch in this world," Yusuke said, nodding in understanding.
"Then what's your plan now, Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo?" Yusuke asked, looking straight at the old man before him.
"Me? Since I've already handed my power over to those two, it's about time for me to disappear as well," the Sage of Six Paths said with a faint smile.
"Honestly, if you wanted to come back, maybe I could help you," Yusuke said lightly.
"Boy, I know what you're thinking. But even if I were to revive, my strength would at best only be equal to my mother at the peak of her power," the Sage of Six Paths said, shaking his head.
"That's really a shame. Actually, ever since you first appeared, I could feel it. Your power has already surpassed Kaguya's. But if that's the case, why are you still afraid of her revival?" Yusuke asked.
"Hah… even though my strength surpasses my mother's, that power itself was born from within her. The slightest moment of carelessness, and that power could be taken back in an instant. If that happens, my mother would become far stronger than before," the Sage of Six Paths replied.
"You're right. Before she ate the fruit of the God Tree, she was just an ordinary human. Her mental maturity never matched the power she held," Hatake Yusuke said.
He understood Kaguya's condition all too well—like a child holding a firearm, hurting others and herself at the same time.
"The thing I fear most is my mother's eyes. Even though I've surpassed her, those eyes are simply too powerful, almost impossible to resist. And I, due to the limits of my bloodline, cannot awaken a higher level of ocular power. That's why I'm afraid of her," the Sage of Six Paths said.
Yusuke talked with the Sage of Six Paths for a long time, voicing all of his doubts. After that, he finally returned to everyone else.
"So, what's your decision?" Yusuke asked, looking at Senju Hashirama.
"Hahahaha, forget it. We're already dead. It's better not to interfere with you any longer. This world isn't a place for us to meddle in anymore," Hashirama said with hearty laughter.
"Grandfather…" Tsunade looked at Hashirama, her expression heavy with emotion.
"That's enough, little Tsunade. We're dead. We shouldn't disrupt the order of this world anymore," Mito said gently.
"But Yusuke can," Tsunade said again, only to be cut off by another voice.
"Tsunade, stop. Don't underestimate forbidden jutsu. Do you think reviving someone is easy? Do you think Impure World Reincarnation carries no risks at all?" Tobirama said coldly.
As the creator of Edo Tensei, Tobirama understood its weaknesses better than anyone. In some aspects, its level of danger even surpassed that of Rinne Tensei.
He also knew the immense risk anyone had to bear when using such forbidden techniques.
"Tsunade, don't be so stubborn. Just because that boy doesn't say anything doesn't mean there are no consequences. Reviving someone is no small matter. The reason I never continued developing Impure World Reincarnation is because I knew the price it carried. Anyone who recklessly uses this technique will not meet a good end," Tobirama said.
Hearing that, Tsunade's heart ached. Indeed, even if Yusuke said it was fine, that didn't mean there were no consequences. He just didn't want Tsunade to worry—that was why he never said anything. Tsunade looked at Yusuke.
"It's fine. There are risks, yes, but for who I am now, they don't matter at all," Yusuke said casually. He stepped forward and pulled Tsunade into a gentle embrace.
After that, Senju Hashirama and the others decided not to be revived.
Minato was the same. He was already incredibly happy just being able to fight alongside his son. His only regret was that he never got to see Kushina.
"That won't do, Minato-nii," Yusuke said seriously as he looked at Minato.
Naruto, too, cherished every moment he had with his father.
"Huh?" Minato looked at Yusuke in confusion.
"Minato-nii, you have to be revived," Yusuke said firmly.
"Yusuke, forget it," Minato shook his head.
"No. I once said I would bring you back. Kushina-nee is still waiting for you," Yusuke said calmly.
"Kushina… how is she?" Minato's eyes softened, filled with both tenderness and guilt.
Yusuke looked at Minato, said nothing more, and began forming hand seals.
"Gedō: Rinne Tensei no Jutsu."
Minato's skin slowly began to crack, then crumble away bit by bit. Not long after, a body brimming with vitality fully emerged.
"Welcome back, Minato-nii," Yusuke said with a smile.
Minato looked down at his hands, feeling the strong, steady heartbeat in his chest.
"Thank you, Yusuke," Minato said as he looked at his friend.
His eyes were filled with gratitude. If given the choice, who would want to die? Namikaze Minato was no different. Even though he was willing to sacrifice himself for the village, he was still human.
"You're welcome," Yusuke said as he extended his fist. Minato raised his own, and the two lightly bumped knuckles together.
Their memories drifted back to the past—two handsome young men sitting together, drinking and laughing under the open sky.
"Don't worry. No matter what happens, I won't let you die, Minato-nii. After all, you're one of the few people I truly respect," the white-haired youth had said with a wicked grin, his eyes filled with a cold, disdainful взгляд toward the world.
"Hahaha, before I become Hokage, I'm not dying," the blond youth had replied, his smile warm like the sun.
Back in the present, the two of them smiled at each other. That promise from the past had finally been fulfilled. The gentle youth had become Hokage, and the white-haired youth had not let him die.
"Dad…" Naruto rushed straight into Minato's arms.
"Hahaha," Minato laughed softly, gently patting Naruto's head.
"Thank you, Uncle," Naruto said as he looked at Yusuke.
Seeing that scene, Sasuke's eyes filled with a hint of envy… but he quickly buried that feeling deep within his heart.
