Despite feeling something wrong, Kyson still decided to stay and maybe investigate.
Walking up to the counter, he said to the proprietress, "Excuse me, I'd like to book a room for the night."
The proprietress looks like she's in her 30s. With her fat build and short stature, she looks like an approachable auntie.
But right now, she is just like the any other people in this city.
Hollowed. Listless.
However, it doesn't seem like she's unconscious. While looking haggard, she turned her attention to Kyson.
There was a long pause to her actions, then she nodded.
Without even saying anything, she picked up a room key from under the counter and handed it to Kyson.
She didn't ask for payment or anything. Just handed it directly and stood there, with the same empty look as before.
Kyson was left there, standing in front of the counter, not knowing what to do.
Scratching his head, Kyson still asked, "Uhm, how much is it, ma'am?"
