Chapter 158 - Chapter 158: Pakura of Sunagakure

Chapter 158: Pakura of Sunagakure

Outside Tsunade's house, Hoshikawa stood in the open space, weaving hand seals.

Beside him, the ground turned into a swamp, and a gigantic dragon head emerged.

The dragon head opened its mouth and spat out a stream of mud projectiles.

The mud struck a nearby tree, instantly scattering like a shower of flower petals.

Crack.

The tree couldn't withstand the powerful impact and toppled over.

Hoshikawa nodded in satisfaction.

Earth Release : Earth Dragon Bullet was a complete success.

This was a B-rank Earth Release jutsu, and it had taken him about a week to master.

Just then, Hoshikawa 's body stiffened as a flood of information poured into his mind.

Every little detail of his Shadow Clone's experience in Kumogakure was instantly etched into his memory.

"Not bad at all."

A smile touched Hoshikawa 's lips.

His objective had been perfectly fulfilled.

He not only secured the training method for the Lightning Release Chakra Mode but also managed to get in a fight with Yugito Nii.

Hoshikawa had thought Kumogakure might completely sever ties with him, but it seemed they hadn't.

Though, after this incident, the trust between them was likely nonexistent.

Thinking it over, Kumogakure was left with no choice.

They couldn't neutralize Chiyo's poison.

If they broke things off with Hoshikawa , it would essentially mean breaking things off with Tsunade.

After all, the two had a Master-Disciple relationship.

Their only other option would be to approach Chiyo, which was even more impossible.

"Hoshikawa ."

A familiar voice called out.

"Coming!"

Hoshikawa snapped out of his thoughts and answered.

He turned and took a few steps, quickly seeing Tsunade standing in the doorway.

She was stretching and yawning, her body arched into a gentle curve.

Her slender waist showed a stunning arc. As she leaned to the left, her clothes dipped down slightly, swaying gently in the air.

"Sensei."

Hoshikawa blinked, admiring her graceful figure. "Are you tired?"

"Sat at the casino for half the day, just stretching out my body."

Tsunade turned to face him. "Practicing your Earth Release again?"

"Mhm."

Hoshikawa checked the time. "I'm going to start dinner."

"No need to rush dinner."

Tsunade shook her head. "Come with me to the Hokage Tower."

"Is there a mission?" Hoshikawa 's heart stirred as he asked.

"I don't know," Tsunade yawned. "The ANBU just came by and told me to go see the Old Man."

"Then why call me?" Hoshikawa twitched the corner of his mouth, asking.

"Do you still want to be Hokage or not?" Tsunade crossed her arms and glared at him.

"I want to be Hokage after you." Hoshikawa 's eyelid jumped, but he corrected her with a composed expression.

"Then you'll have to wait."

Tsunade smiled coyly. "If I'm in a good mood one day, maybe I'll oblige you."

"You look like you're in a great mood right now."

Hoshikawa joked. "How about we march straight into the Hokage Tower and take over?"

"...?"

Tsunade reached out and flicked his forehead. "Be careful, or the ANBU will arrest you and give you the third degree."

"But I have my Sensei right here, don't I?"

Hoshikawa caught her hand. "You'd never let the ANBU arrest me."

Tsunade looked at him, her breath catching for a moment.

She pulled her hand away, turned around, and said, "Alright, stop wasting time. The Old Man is waiting."

"Yes, Sensei."

Hoshikawa followed her. "What do you want for lunch, Sensei?"

"Anything."

Tsunade thought about it. Since everything he cooked tasted good, she had nothing to be picky about.

The two walked and chatted, arriving quickly at the Hokage Tower.

Bang!

Tsunade kicked open the door to the Hokage's office.

To her surprise, Danzō Shimura was there, in addition to Hiruzen Sarutobi.

"Tsunade, you truly have no respect for decorum!" Danzō immediately spoke up.

"You're in no position to lecture me!" Tsunade retorted without hesitation.

"Hiruzen!"

Danzō complained. "With a personality like hers, how can she possibly receive Sunagakure's delegation?"

"I'm receiving them?" Tsunade raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.

"Pakura holds a high position in Sunagakure, is quite strong, and is a strong contender for the next Kazekage," Hiruzen Sarutobi patiently explained. "Konoha obviously can't just send any Jonin to deal with her."

"She is unsuitable. Let this old man go!" Danzō stated righteously.

"Enough. Don't cause trouble," Hiruzen Sarutobi said, frowning slightly.

Danzō had originally come to discuss the situation with Amegakure and the Akatsuki, but upon hearing about the Suna delegation, he suddenly jumped in to join the fray.

In Sarutobi's view, his three students were the most suitable people to receive Pakura, given their similar status and position.

As for Danzō, he was the shadowy leader of Root. Running around in the open would look unseemly.

Moreover, his demeanor could easily cause misunderstandings; he truly couldn't represent Konoha.

"I do this for the sake of Konoha!" Danzō argued vehemently.

"You should go now, Danzō."

Hiruzen Sarutobi dismissed him without any ceremony, waving his hand.

"Hiruzen! You will regret this!"

Danzō flung a harsh threat over his shoulder and stormed out.

"Pakura should arrive in about an hour. Get ready."

Hiruzen Sarutobi turned to Tsunade.

"You really want me to go?" Tsunade pouted. "It's a hassle!"

"This matter has something to do with you," Hiruzen Sarutobi said, ignoring her attitude.

"What does it have to do with me?"

Tsunade paused. "Is it about that thing in the Land of Rain?"

"That's right."

Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded. "We eliminated a thousand Cloud ninja, which naturally places us on the same frontline as Sunagakure."

His thinking was simple.

Kumogakure already intended to wage war on Konoha.

Since they couldn't avoid it, teaming up with Sunagakure would ease the pressure.

It would also give them more resources to deal with potential opportunists like Iwagakure or Kirigakure.

This was undoubtedly the most prudent approach.

"Fine."

Tsunade agreed.

Hiruzen Sarutobi stroked his beard.

While Tsunade wasn't proactive in her duties, she never wavered when it came to things that benefited Konoha.

This was one reason Sarutobi believed she was fit to be Hokage.
