Chapter 302 - Lin Feng: Loki, the waters of Earth run deep—you can't handle them.

At the time, no one knew about the dangers that lay ahead, nor the terrifying enemies waiting for them.

That's why they had previously opposed using the Cosmic Cube to develop weapons and even blocked Tony Stark's development of the Robot Legion.

For someone like Captain America, who self-deprecatingly called himself an "old-fashioned relic," the concept of aliens was barely in his mind. To him, humanity already had enough weapons to slaughter each other, and they were more than powerful enough.

If those nuclear bombs had detonated, they could have annihilated humanity dozens of times over.

But later, he realized how shortsighted he had been. While humanity shouldn't use such weapons against itself, fighting aliens was a different matter entirely!

Looking back now, he regretted many of his past actions, seeing them as self-sabotage.

It was precisely because of so many regrets that he now marveled at the Avengers in this timeline. They weren't just developing well—they were practically exceeding all expectations!

The result of this overwhelming combat power was that in their original battle, the Chitauri had nearly shattered their defenses in an instant.

Now, the Chitauri were completely unable to break through their defenses, their encirclement shrinking bit by bit.

The battlefield was well contained.

"Look, is that the legendary Homelander?" Bruce Banner asked, pointing to a figure in a black, form-fitting suit and cape, wreaking havoc in mid-air.

He was truly terrifying to behold!

Above New York, Thor acted as the first line of defense, filtering out a portion of the Chitauri forces. This figure served as the second line of defense, wiping out a large number of them. His laser eyes blazed like weapons, reducing even the massive Leviathan ships to fiery wreckage.

What was most terrifying was his casual, almost leisurely demeanor as he did it all.

He even employed magic, instantly creating Mirror Dimensions that enveloped entire groups of Chitauri soldiers and ships.

Once inside the Mirror Dimension, the Chitauri were rendered completely helpless. Their mothership lost contact with the forces trapped inside, and the remotely controlled robots instantly lost all mobility. Lin Feng then used the Mirror Dimension to slaughter them all.

This wasn't just a simple containment spell; without sufficient strength or the right methods, anyone trapped inside would face certain death.

These two truly embodied the phrase "one man holds the pass, ten thousand cannot break through."

With these two blocking the Chitauri's reinforcements, Earth's forces were finally able to systematically eliminate the Chitauri troops.

Otherwise, they would have been crushed on the spot.

Earth's combined forces had already been pushed to their limits—the U.S. military, S.H.I.E.L.D., the Avengers, and even the Iron Legion and Extremis Soldiers established by Tony Stark and Lin Feng had all thrown everything they had into the fight.

Yet for the Chitauri, this was merely a small detachment of their vanguard, far from their full strength.

Of course, the Five Great Powers still held more troops in reserve, and Earth's true full might had yet to be unleashed.

But it was futile. Against the Chitauri's overwhelming war machine, even if these remaining forces had been deployed immediately, they would have been crushed.

This was the crushing power of civilization.

"That must be him," Tony Stark nodded. The data Jarvis had provided described Homelander exactly like this.

But their expressions were grim. This timeline was completely different from what they knew. While it seemed they had become stronger, this could also trigger a butterfly effect, preventing them from shutting down the Space Portal Device or destroying the Chitauri mothership. If that happened, Earth would be doomed.

Everyone was now in a difficult position. The Battle of New York was entirely different from what they remembered. The Earth's forces were stronger, but at this critical juncture, increased strength didn't necessarily mean a positive outcome.

They didn't even know if they should intervene. Their primary directive was to avoid interfering, as doing so could cause the entire timeline to collapse.

But the problem was, the situation was already so dire that it seemed to have collapsed completely. So what should they do?

This scenario hadn't been accounted for in any of their contingency plans.

Just as the Endgame Avengers were still reeling from the shock, Loki's face paled as he saw another Homelander appear overhead. He recognized that being who had descended like a god. It was this very being who had thwarted his previous attempt to deal with his foolish brother.

"But it doesn't matter. It's just a dying struggle," Loki sneered. In Tony Stark's office on the top floor of Stark Tower, Loki even had the mood to pour himself a cocktail.

To him, the Earthlings' resistance was utterly meaningless.

After all, this was just a small part of the Chitauri army.

How much longer could they last?

"My foolish brother... struggle a little longer. Consider it a performance for me. Hahahaha!" Loki laughed heartily, finally able to take his revenge.

"I've finally found you."

Suddenly, just as Loki finished speaking, a figure appeared behind him.

"Who's there?" Loki yelled, spinning around to face the voice.

"You seem to despise your brother, don't you? Are you sure he's been unkind to you? When it comes to brother complexes, I've never met anyone more obsessed with their younger sibling than him."

Lin Feng smiled slightly and said.

"You... but... how?" Loki stared at the outside in shock. He remembered Lin Feng being outside just moments ago. How could he be here so quickly?

Teleportation?

Lin Feng smiled slightly. This was naturally a Dimensional Portal. After tracking Loki's whereabouts, he had used the portal to teleport him here.

"Your brother was so good to you. You shouldn't hate him so much, no matter what," Lin Feng said with a slight smile.

"Is that so strange?" Loki replied coldly. "He stole the Throne that should have been mine! But today, he can never take it again. No one can stop me from ruling the world!"

"Ruling the world? On what grounds? Just you alone?" Lin Feng asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice. "Sometimes I wonder where you get such confidence. What makes you think you're fit to rule Earth? Have you ever considered why your so-called powerful father, Odin, only holds nominal dominion over Earth? Even your biological father never sought to conquer Earth; he'd rather fight Odin for control of the Nine Realms than dare to invade Earth. Have you ever thought about that?"

At the mention of his biological father, Loki's face darkened instantly. Fury burned in his heart. How dare this mortal touch his deepest wound?

Loki was consumed by burning resentment. Born a Frost Giant rather than an Asgardian, the impurity of his blood was an eternal source of pain and shame.

The Frost Giant bloodline was no honor to him.

Instead, it fueled a fervent desire for Asgardian acceptance, a desire so intense that he was willing to kill his own biological father—even orchestrating the entire scheme to lure him into the trap.

This alone spoke volumes.

But Loki was the God of Mischief, not the God of Brute Force like Thor. When Lin Feng spoke, Loki was momentarily stunned.

*There's some logic to this,* he thought. *Both my biological father and my adoptive father were within easy reach on Earth, yet neither made a move. That doesn't make sense.*

Neither side was composed of saints; quite the opposite. They were all ambitious, power-hungry beings, yet they all refrained. Why?

Especially since Earth lacked even the technology it possessed today in its early days, conquering it would have been effortless. Yet they all abandoned the idea. Odin merely claimed lordship over Earth, but never truly enforced it.

This thought made Loki feel a flicker of unease.

"Consider this: why didn't Thanos, a cosmic overlord, claim the Cosmic Cube himself? Why send a pawn like you to test the waters?" Lin Feng, in good spirits, couldn't resist elaborating. "Given Thanos's nature, once he desires something, he always storms in with brutal force, leaving a trail of slaughter. As Asgard's Second Prince, you must have heard of his methods, right? Otherwise, why would you have allied with him?"

Loki's face lit up at the mention of his status as Asgard's Second Prince, but he quickly composed himself. "Hmph, regardless, it's not for a mere mortal like you to meddle in."

"Mortal?" Lin Feng smiled faintly. He was no longer a mere mortal. "Hand over the Mind Stone Scepter, and I'll make your suffering today a little less severe. For Thor's sake, I'll let you leave here intact."

"Damn you, mortal!" Loki roared, his voice trembling with rage at the mention of his brother, Thor, the Thunder God.

He thrust the Mind Stone Scepter toward Lin Feng's chest, attempting to control him.

His speed was impressive by mortal standards, but to Lin Feng, it was laughably slow.

A blur of motion, and suddenly the scepter was gone, now held firmly in Lin Feng's hand.

"You refuse the wine, so you'll drink the dregs," Lin Feng sneered. "Looks like I'll have to recreate that famous scene." Before Loki could react, Lin Feng's hand shot out, seizing him.

Loki didn't even have time to process what was happening before he was lifted into the air and slammed to the ground with brutal force, leaving him stunned and dazed.
