Morning came slowly in Lagos, the kind of morning where the sunlight slipped quietly through the windows before the city fully woke up. The house had already settled after the airport trip earlier. Jeffrey, Janet, Jason and Abishola had left for their flight, and the usual noise of the house had faded into something calmer.
Dayo sat at the dining table with his laptop open, though he was not really working. The screen showed a few music files and notes from the previous studio session, but his attention kept drifting back to his phone every few minutes.
Across from him, Shina was sitting with a tablet and his phone side by side on the table. His eyes were glued to the screen.
The teaser he had posted that morning was still spreading.
Every few seconds he refreshed the page.
Each refresh showed the same thing.
The numbers were still climbing.
"Six hundred and eighty thousand," Shina said quietly, almost like he didn't trust what he was seeing.
Dayo glanced up from his laptop.
