Felix had not left the secure room since morning.
The blinds were down, the main lights were off, and the screens gave the room most of its glow. On one monitor, a map of call routes sat beside a list of legal channels. On another, timestamps moved in neat rows, each one tied to a contact, a payment record, a system ping, or a location marker that meant little without the rest of the pattern.
Dayo entered with two paper cups of coffee and placed one beside Felix's keyboard.
"You look like you forgot the outside exists," Dayo said.
Felix took the cup without looking away from the screen. "It's still there. Noisy, expensive, and full of people pretending they don't refresh news pages every five minutes."
"That sounds like outside."
A faint smile crossed Felix's face, but it did not stay. He dragged one window to the center screen and enlarged it. "Silas went to Michael's apartment."
Dayo did not sit immediately. "You're sure?"
