Dayo returned to JD Records on the third morning after leaving the office.
For two days, he had deliberately kept his phone away during breakfast, spent more time with Luna and Jennifer, and allowed other people to handle the work that usually followed him everywhere. There had been calls he did not answer and messages he left until later. Nothing had burned down because he had taken a step back, and he was glad he had done it.
The moment he walked into the London office, however, he knew the break was over.
Felix was waiting near the glass meeting room with a laptop tucked under his arm. He had been there long enough to finish one coffee and start another.
Dayo stopped beside him. "You look like you have been waiting for me."
"I have."
"That bad?"
Felix glanced toward the corridor before answering. "Something changed while you were away."
