As Kid pressed the remote, Osaka Castle plunged into darkness.
This guy blew up the power station…
"If I was gaming, I'd want to kill you," Tsuneo quipped.
"Really?" Kid produced a monocular, scanning the city for his target.
"Horuen Saimon Hospital, Tangoshima Century Hotel, Tenma Emergency Center, Channel Pavilion Hotel, Naniwa TMS Hospital, Kansai World Hotel, Osaka Imperial Hotel…"
"Found it!" Kid grinned.
Among the buildings lighting up, one stood out, unassuming.
"Well, Dark Knight, I'm off to claim the Memory Egg!"
Kid turned, leapt, and transformed into a silver-winged magician, soaring away.
"I've got my own business," Tsuneo smirked, leaving Tsutenkaku.
…
As the city darkened, Conan instantly grasped Kid's true plan.
"Hattori, hurry!"
"That thief likely guessed the police and Suzuki's strategy. Except for hospitals and big hotels…"
"The egg's hiding spot will light up too, right?" Hattori, spotting Kid's silver figure streak from Tsutenkaku, gunned the motorcycle in pursuit.
"Damn it, he'll get away again!" Conan, in the back seat, frowned.
The city's complex terrain and evening traffic nearly sealed their fate.
Meanwhile, in the upscale restaurant, Shiro Suzuki and Uncle Mouri sat cross-legged in the dark, gazing at the moon.
"Sipping sake by moonlight," Shiro said, smiling, eyes clear.
"Such elegance," Mouri nodded,感慨.
Fireworks earlier, now moonlight drinking.
That's refinement!
Elsewhere, a fierce chase unfolded.
The high school detectives tailed Kid's airborne figure.
Kid landed on a civilian warehouse rooftop, stowed his glider, and headed for a lone lit room.
Officer Nakamori, awaiting 3 a.m., sensed trouble when the power cut. He ordered his men to start the backup generator, and the trio stood ready.
"Sir, is this Kid's doing?" a subordinate asked, eyeing the wooden box.
"Hard to say. It's just past 7, nowhere near the predicted time. I'll call headquarters about the blackout," Nakamori said, pulling out his phone.
"No need," a familiar voice interrupted.
The lock had been picked. The white-clad thief leaned against the open door, smiling at them.
"Kid!"
"Good evening, gentlemen."
As they reached for guns, Kid snapped his fingers, and they swayed.
"This…" Nakamori, clutching the table, glared at the thief, then collapsed, snoring.
"Thanks," Kid bowed to his old adversary.
After checking the 800-million-yen egg, he carried the box to the window.
"Kid!" The detective arrived.
Too late!
Kid, seeing his old friend, smiled, drew his card gun, and fired.
A card exploded before Conan, smoke blocking his view.
"See ya, Detective," Kid leapt, glider unfurling, taking the Memory Egg.
No danger here.
Flying high, Kaito recalled Tsuneo's words, chuckling.
A detective? Threaten my life?
Chasing this far is impressive, but that's it.
Conan, unwilling to let him escape, grabbed a rope, tied it, and rappelled down.
Six stories!
Hawaii really teaches everything…
"Kudo, hurry!" Hattori, guarding below, tossed him a helmet.
Conan, landing, donned it, leapt onto the bike, movements fluid.
They chased the thief again.
…
"Here?" Tsuneo, in black, stood before an office building.
Oyama Construction.
The company's rep was bad. Its president, a former gangster, climbed using dirty tactics.
Tsuneo was thrilled hearing this.
Right in my hands.
But tonight, Oyama wasn't the only target.
To avoid suspicion, better stir up dozens of incidents.
"Ready?" Tsuneo asked, stepping into a dark alley as someone approached, seemingly talking to himself but speaking via earpiece.
"Almost. I've dug up plenty," came a voice, a scientist in bunny pajamas typing furiously.
With advancing networks, much could be found.
"But evidence like this is tough," Ai laughed.
Some things were ancient.
Especially for someone who'd washed their past clean.
"No worries. I'm not a detective needing evidence."
"Starting with those yakuza groups. Tonight, we play slow," Tsuneo said.
His masked, altered voice chilled.
A cold laugh followed.
Scary!
Ai, across the line, never said it, but felt a shiver.
How'd he make that voice?
"Tsuneo, seen Kid?" Dr. Agasa interrupted.
They cared about the egg.
"Yeah, he's probably stolen it by now," Tsuneo nodded.
His smug father-in-law hid it in a remote spot with a generator, unaware Kaito's dove bugged their talks.
That dove was impressive, flying between Tsutenkaku and the museum with a bug, likely without much training.
"You're on the job, aren't you?" Ai asked, sipping juice from a coffee mug, frowning, glancing at her sister, then sighing.
"Someone'll stop him…"
…
Meanwhile, a silenced gun aimed at the gliding thief.
